LMA is on the way out too. It is just a question of when, not if. ... Remember when you used that line repeatedly for years on end about TSFKaDD? Eventually, you have to be right. Well, this will end much quicker.

I have no doubt that both Indy and LMA are going the way of the Dodo at some point. Just Indy, not anytime soon. LMA? I have no doubt.

Word in from a top UNI source says Gringotts TM previews are likely for Wednesday or Thursday at the earliest.

On days like this, I do wish we had some real water parks in South Florida.
!

Hope things get moving soon enough for softs at Diagon...

As for waterparks, Rapids Water Park in West Palm has a good amount of slides. (Not themed like Typhoon, Blizzard, or Aquatica, but still looks pretty good.) There's also that potential future Schlitterbahn park coming in future years....

Chili's
I can't say if they still do, but they sure as hell used to. My mom received one when she finished it in the early 2000's.

I haven't been keeping up with this whole runDisney debate though. What is the big deal? I don't get it. People run the races because it's something they want to do and they pay a lot of money to do it. I don't see why getting a medal is such a hard point for some of you.
Well that's not really the debate (I think?). The debate is whether or not people who don't finish are deserving of a medal (At least that was the one I was involved in).

I say it's to each his own. If they paid money for the race, didn't train, and need a medal to show they participated, that's their own problem. If I was a runner who finished and got my award, I wouldn't dwell on others too much. Of course, I don't think they deserve one, but I don't think it's something too severe.

No offense, but I think that's the problem. A lot of folks who don't know much (or anything) about running and Disney's races and wants to apply theme park rules to a serious thing. ... I don't understand why folks can't understand what runners/racers are telling them, except they want their opinion to win the Internet for the day.

None taken. And for me it's not really winning the Internet for the day. I'm actually curious as to the significance of the medal and at what level of trouble the non-finishers are to the safety of the race. Because, to be honest, we tend to deal in hyperbole a lot on this site (good and bad) and I asked my questions not as a "gotcha" but to actually see if it's a genuine problem or if it's just one or two outlying opinions.

Clearly it's more or less unanimous. ;)

Just an observation: Car Masters Weekend is quite possibly the perfect event. Well over a 100 cars with appeal to "car guys" and the general public, informative Q&As, lots for the kids to do.

Much like the Typhoon Lagoon anniversary party, saw zero lifestylers covering it. Seen hardly any commentary on the boards. Seriously, you could find more pics of the walls surrounding the 7D coaster online than of both events combined.

I think this shows just how limited the lifestyler/fanboi mentality is. Now back to your previous WDW/UOR or whatever debate...

The Lifestylers all gravitate to MK and EPCOT. You'll never see them at Studios now that SWW are over, except for the 8/23 event. They made their once a year pilgrimage to DAK to do Harambe Nights. Now, they can wait until 2015 to go back. They will never go to the water parks because well ... have you seen these people? Bathing suit issues there be aplenty in those cursed ranks. They might show up at the Poly (weird tiki fixations that make mine feel dirty!) for DVC pics ... but when have they last been at the All Stars or SS or CSR or WL etc?

Nope, they are limited and they stick to a very limited schedule, unless they can get a freebie.

They all suddenly care about the Nickelodeon Resort or the new B Resort DD because there are freebies. Same when some new restaurant opens on I-drive etc.

Get a key logger scan! @WDW1974

Honestly, dealing with the type of folks/organizations that I do, it's all just a waste of time. No, not talking NSA/CIA ... but talking folks and companies that have endless tech budgets if they want to know what I am up to. I have a stack of computers that have been wasted ... you've never lived until you've had an entire hard drive sucked clean remotely so much so that not even an operating system exists when done.

This is also exacerbated (profoundly) by a language barrier. When a larger and larger percentage of visitors are non-English speakers - the stretching room "words" are just Musak. To be talked over...loudly. :( So Disney can legitimately say, "See, no one pays attention to the Host these days...and this way we can get more people per hour through the attraction - which is what our guests want."

Our wee family has been at DLP a couple times during Italian school holidays. On attractions like the Studio Tram Tour (which is narrated in French and English)...we could hear ZERO narration. Just animated Italian. I could give (lots of) other examples (but for once I'll try to keep a post shorter than War & Peace ;)).

This is an issue that WDW will have to deal with (more and more) at attractions with "talky" pre-shows as the percentage of non-domestic visitors grows. Because the alternative is the "jabber until the "real ride" begins" climate (as Omnispace mentioned above) that is growing at theme parks - both in America and in Europe.

Personally, I would like the Magic Bands enabled to deliver an electric shock to anyone who talks during a pre-show...but that's just me.

At some point, a CM needs to be loud and firm that folks need to shut their yaps. SHHHHH!!! is UNIversal.

At DLP, you never have the issues in PM's stretch room that you often do in the States because the CMs loudly demand SILENCE when the doors close and don't act like they are kidding.

Not at WDW. Nope you can never insult a walking dollar sign.

Thats rather disturbing. Given some of the places you've been, I'm not horribly shocked.... just a tad unnerving.

I never want to hear another LeBron/Jordan comparison again.

I'm not sure if that Spurs team was one of the all-timers, or if the Heat just coasted through a bunch of bad teams to the Finals.

Either way, this Heat team is so easy to hate.

LeBron is an all-time great. I don't know how to compare him to Jordan, who struggled for years to get past the Pistons and only did when he had a great team around him. That sorta sounds like LeBron who was the entire team in Cleveland.

I don't really get the hate for the Heat. They went out and put together an amazing team that has been to the finals four years in a row (something that the Spurs have never done) and have won twice. Pat Riley is a class act and he built the organization that way.

I certainly agree that the Eastern Conference is weaker than the West, so Miami didn't really face a decent team until Indiana. But that doesn't negate or diminish their greatness.

While I find it disgusting that "your enemies" seems to be following you every single step you make and stalking you on everything. I would have suggested you to be a better man and just dont take more jabs at him.
Lets be proactive, not reactive (The guy's behavior already says much about him.. specially his twitter bursts), so not need to add fuel to the fire.

I want to be clear that these folks are not my 'enemies' ... while this will (naturally) come off as a putdown of these guys, my enemies in the real world are much more significant and much scarier. I don't think of these people except when I am screwing around online or chatting with friends in the theme park business or fellow posters.

Indeed, I let much of the crap stay out there. There's one psycho Lifestyler who has painted me as a stalker, and I don't take that as a joke. But I leave that off these boards to not draw attention to mentally unstable folks who want to use me to further their businesses.

But sometimes, you do need to poke back. I'm hoping this dude gets that I actually respect his work and stops being combative about me because I made a joke about him being OCD (something that even applies to me!)
