The Spirited Back Nine ...

Speaking of future attractions, I've just seen the video of the Frozen castle lighting show and at one point Elsa says
"This isn't our home, we're visiting, and we have to be respectful to those who live here"

I was waiting for someone to heckle 'Tell that to the Norwegians!", but it did make me think - could that line be the imagineers indirectly winking to people to tell them not to worry about the Norway pavilion, that they don't - whatever Tom Staggs is saying - have any intention of mutilating it as as badly as many people fear?

I actually noticed that too, I would HOPE that was a reference. But who knows. Kinda cool that they said that though.

For everyone saying carnie rides have absolutely no place in Disney theme parks...

While both the carnival rides pictured above and the Dumbo and Teacups rides in the Magic Kingdom feature flying elephants and spinning teacups, respectively, they're only the same thing in the way that a Hyundai Excel and Bentley Continental are the same thing.

Election night is a blast and a pain all at the same time.

Yes it is, Although I did get to meet Garry Trudeau one election night, We discussed his book "Hitler Moves East" which was a faux WW II documentary done with models. The irony is not many figured out that it WAS fake so we had a few drinks (I was buying) and I got a priceless view into one of today's foremost cartoonist's mind and his views on media and how the public views and consumes media.

I find it interesting how many of us are journalists or have journalism background…

Maybe that's why we have such a low tolerance for BS around here.

You are probably correct, The Spirited threads tend to attract Journalists (past and present), Financial Analysts and Engineers - all professions with very limited tolerance for BRAVO-SIERRA.

I think TDO deserves the flack they get as well, but I just think people need to sit back and sort of give this a chance.

This is sort of like getting out the pitchforks before we even have any official confirmation. The only ride I have a true problem with is the Slinky ride, I do truly hope that gets replaced. It has no business being in a Disney Park.
stop ruining my business! *hides all his pitchforks and torches stock*

I agree on this as well. I am not a professional journalist in any ways, but I do write articles about theme parks for fun on the side. I have a real dayjob and I sure don't want the lifestyler etiquette! I also can't stand BRAVO-SIERRA.

@PhotoDave219 Assuming that your info on GMR is correct, is the Chinese Theater facade also safe? Was Disney able to get a new contract with the TCL Corporation (the current owners of the real theater)?

It would be a real stab to the heart to finally get rid of the BAH, only to have the Chinese Theater facade come down with it!

That's an internet myth, there is no trademark on the look of the Chinese Theater as it was built before you could trademark buildings, so no need for a contract.

If they were using the words 'Grauman's Chinese Theatre' that would be different, but it's only ever referred to as 'The Great Movie Ride' in Disney.
