The Spirited Back Nine ...

But we are all talking about Avatar. ;)

Unless there are some DHS aerials that I've missed... But no, DHS is 100% speculation!

The dual conversation is super confusing though!

Edit: there was actually mock aerials posted, I see the confusion.
I'm afraid that I did the same thing. I was looking at the Pandora aerial view, I knew it was DAK and yet I was thinking DHS. I'll blame it on old age, I don't know what PhotoDaves excuse is, but, I'm sticking with mine. So anyway, you are correct, DAK is not all speculation, but, DHS is.

Agreed. It will likely take longer than it should. In this case clearing the land may take longer than construction.

We don't know for sure what they will build. We do have a lot of smoke surrounding a Toy Story themed playland that may or may not include some of the rides from Paris or possibly Mater from CA. One thing we know from past experience is they will likely open things in phases. IMHO the Toy Story area with more simple rides along with the expanded TSMM will be first up. It makes the most sense and would immediately boost capacity allowing them to potentially close things like LMA and Indy so the land can be used for additional attractions in phase 2 or phase 3.

At this point I expect StarWarsLand last. In between I'm hoping that there is something else of substance in the works for Pixar. There pretty much has to be unless they are spending a billion on SW alone.
If the project is as big and as ambitious as Spirit says, it sounds like Burbank will be managing it, not TDO. If this is the case, there's hope! Lol

If TSPL ends up coming across the pond and the Bug's Life area is cloned (in some way) from DCA I feel it is a huge waste of money and real estate.

We visited DLP as TSPL was being built so we didn't get to set foot in it but did look over the fences and from pictures online it looks fairly cheap and reminds me too much of the value hotels. "Value" grade attractions don't belong IN the parks, they are great for what they are outside the parks but inside they should be striving for higher quality. If they have to clone something from DLP bring Crush's Coaster instead.

Bug's life is cute and kind of fun so I wouldn't mind a few aspects of that as much as TSPL but just don't bring the bumper car ride due to its genericness. MGM definitely needs rides and things to do for little kids so that would work for them but that shouldn't be a major piece of the redux or the only kid/family friendly additions.

Does anyone really WANT more Cars? Carsland is cool and very detailed but if Diz put their minds to it they could create ANYTHING at that level. I know Cars is a cash cow on merch but can't we get something better than that?

I know this is wishful thinking but I just wish they would keep things unique to different parks. There are so many other films that they could base rides off of that would be unique and fresh.

My other issue is how is everything going to be laid out with the redux. Backlot Tour is HUGE and if they took out LMA and Streets of America that is almost or even a little more than half the park. I'm hoping the don't just make the back half of the park Star Wars and Pixar. Seems overkill.

For everyone saying carnie rides have absolutely no place in Disney theme parks...

I was fairly against the TSPL addition to Paris and HKDL... But then I went and actually enjoyed them for what they were.

I've noticed lots of the people complaining about the plans have never even been to a Toy Story Playland, whereas lots of the people defending it, or at least saying it's fine if it's the start of a process, are the people who have gone and been pleasantly surprised. If DHS was getting the Paris one, I'd be cool with that.

Despite that, I'm wondering if the DHS version will in fact be quite, quite different. First we have the rumors about Mater, and then look at the other rides...

RC Racer is popular with teens and the older crowd (see video below) - it is fairly intense - and has long lines and low capacity. If they're trying to make more for little kids, building this probably won't help much. The Parachute is a relaxing ride with a great view, but would be too high for DHS sight lines, so that only leaves Slinky. Now Slinky is the cheapest ride, takes up the smallest footprint (smaller than a traditional spinner), and if that's all that carries over they have pretty much blank slate to work with for the DHS version.

Silly little wand stroker, you need to wipe the floo powder out of your eyes and put your little round glasses on so you can see clearly. No one here thinks this is all DHS needs. We know DHS needs extensive and expensive additions. But DHS does need kid friendly rides plus added capacity in a hurry before the (hopefully) bigger projects start. TSPL, if well themed, will provide both and be a welcome addition to Pixar place.
Isn't that what they also said about Hester and Chester, if my memory serves me correct? That was supposed to be a fast and temporary fix for Dinoland, while EE and other attractions were planned to open later. If I remember correctly, the Excavator themed rollercoaster was to go in that space. The problem with all these temporary fixes is that they become permanent.

I don't expect this to be temporary if it comes. $100M isn't a huge sum for TWDC, but it's not exactly throw away money either.
