The Spirited Back Nine ...

Can I ask what about Gringotts was a letdown?
It isn't bad for a family ride. FJ is still better imo

I thought there was way too much sitting and watching a screen. The ride portions were fun, but they were too few. I did think the projections and screens were simply amazing, however, I was hoping for more of a ride than a movie. FJ is my favorite ride anywhere, so I was probably just hoping for too much.

Maybe, like many of the rest of us, they understand that there is only so much that Uni can do at this point to compete with Disney.

What if they did keep adding to the park? How much would it cost to buy the land to build it on? Things are pretty packed in there already. What if they did manage to score the same attendance that Disney has? Where the hell would they put them?

Uni made a good stab at Disney by playing what used to be Disney's game. That was to build something that was very good, very expensive and therefore wake the sleeping Disney Brass enough to realize that they had to do something to remain untouchable. In the process they managed to become a player in that they are now recognized as an organization that can deliver good stuff. In doing that they have gone from a park('s) that people would fit in when they had the time to something that is definitely on the schedule. That is a big accomplishment. All Disney had to do to make Uni a real player was to just let DHS, DAK and Epcot sit in the Florida sun and rot away. Then people would be willing to take the time away from Disney and go to Uni. Perhaps that message finally got through to them.
The Third gate for UNI possibly being cut is what has me really concerned. They still have room in the current parks to build. The Kidzone area to MiB is a pretty significant plot of land, along with some areas in IOA... At the same time, those plots are limited and shouldn't be wasted on anything that doesn't involve an E on a FJ level.

I wouldn't say Gringotts is mediocre at all. You want a mediocre ride at Universal? Look no further than Dr. Doom's Fear Fall.

Fear Fall isn't mediocre...it's dismal. It was so bad we rode it twice in June (our first UNI visit) just to make sure it didn't malfunction the first time. But no, it was the same bad ride the second go round. It's by far the worst ride we rode at UNI, but then again (IMHO) if relocated it would be the lamest part of Chester and Heaters mall parking lot carnival.

Then that'd be a huge waste of the property. Why not just throw any film with a good 70's/80's soundtrack in there? Same concept. At least RnRC has a story, albeit a fairly mediocre one.

Yeah, Guardians deserves its own ride. Not an overlay of an existing one.

Actually been thinking of it more: Replace the recording studio with some training base for Nova Corps, the Stretch Limos with some experimental flight tech Rocket's been tinkering with. I dunno, I'd rather Rock N Rollercoaster take the hit instead of turning the Great Movie Ride into some crappy Guardians themed knockoff of Last Action Hero, though I've got a bias against looping coasters anyway because of the annoyance of securing your gear.

Side note, I'm glad Spirit mentioned the ToT audio issues. I'm glad more people are taking notice because one of WDW's top attractions shouldn't be operating under any less than great condition and ToT has had shoddy show quality for quite some time.

Or Despicable Me... God that ride is awful.
What? No it isn't. It's very well done for what it is and what they had to work with.

I don't like the idea of it replacing GMR either. I would want a brand new ride for Guardians not any kind of replacement.
