The Spirited Back Nine ...

Correct me if I'm wrong here but isn't a beef taco nothing more then a ground up burger? Get a burger, go to the toppings bar put on some tomato, lettuce and cheese and you have a taco by another name. The only thing missing is the seasoning and it has a bun instead of a shell. A chicken taco is a chicken nugget ground up, etc., the shell is replaced by breading. Many of those taco salads come with fries. Except for the taste being slightly different, it's the same, health and ingredient wise.
That would make spaghetti just a hamburger with noodles and tomato sauce.

Tacos are great.

I never said it was healthy did I? A taco salad tastes different than a burger to me even though they are both made with ground beef. It's nice to get some variety at QS. If you prefer a burger, get a burger. Nobody is stopping you.
And also...I find that if I cannot get ahold of the Red Devil hot sauce packets (the little black ones) it just ain't the same either...gotta have that...I think the taco salad bowl helps as well...something about the crunch...

eh...there I go again!

My husband and I are not particularly fussy eaters so we never had a problem with the fast food in the Disney parks. We always thought their burgers were about on a par with those found at most of the burger type chain restaurants. Not great, but not that bad. Over the years the fast food selection at Disney has become more varied and somewhat healthier; if you want to choose healthier. We do wish they would keep more of the fast food restaurants open more of the time. We are practical people and it doesn't make a lot of sense to us to have the park briming with people, but have restaurants closed. ( I know this has been discussed.)

The absolute worst hamburger we ever had was at Hershey Park in PA. It was closely followed by one at Great Adventure in NJ. They were so thin, tasteless and tough they will forever be engraved in our memory. Maybe by now they also have a better selection. Our most recent memorable worst fast food experience was at "The Three Broomsticks" in Harry Potter land. At this point we wouldn't recommend that place to anyone, but we will probably give it one more try in case it was just a very bad day.

I will correct you because you asked. Taco meat, in most restaurants, weather you choose beef, chicken, pork or others, it is never plain meat. It is always seasoned when it is cooked. I actually can't think of how nasty a plain ground beef taco would be. @Cesar R M can correct me if I'm wrong.
Yup, and I believe that is exactly what I said.

Well, comparing a taco to that is a bit of a stretch. Now that you mention it though, Spaghetti with meat sauce is exactly that. It's made with hamburger, spaghetti noodles and tomato sauce. Oops, don't want to forget the seasoning, some are sensitive about that.;)

:joyfull: MY GOD, YOU FOLKS SURE TAKE YOUR TACO'S SERIOUSLY DON'T YOU?:joyfull:

I think it's probably all the same food, but sometimes they don't use all of the ingredients and prepare it in completely different ways. But it is still the same, despite how different it may SEEM to the common dolt (or maybe person with eyes and taste buds). So the steak at Yachtsman is the same as the salad at Tortuga is the same as a veggie tray someplace else. It's genius, allowing WDW to feed us slop that is really all the same everyplace. It's all the same, but different.

My God, you really would argue with a brick wall, wouldn't you?

You're trying to say a salad is a burger. Maybe you should change your name to Curmudgeoniernmost to save people the time wasted debating you.
Perhaps you can just put me on Ignore. That would save us both from having to deal with useless posts. But as long as you asked the question... it absolutely is the same, just the ingredients are arranged differently. How's that?

No friend, it's more than just ground beef and seasoning. They're cooked in different methods and the end results are completely different.. I can't just put sugar into milk and call it ice cream.

ground beef.. in a taco..
My Mexican soul felt a punch in the gut.

Well, for starters. real mexican tacos never use "ground" burger meat.. even less anything that looks like taco bell fake meat.
They use real shredded and pulled meat.

This is why other countries hate the U.S.... Our superior reasoning and intellect. Taco=burger=spaghetti
Dont forget how Pizza is now a vegetable by Congress standards ;)

This is perhaps the silliest thing argued about here and that's saying a lot. Both tacos and burgers are made from beef (or something resembling beef;)). Nobody was disputing that. The discussion was simply about where you could get a taco salad when Tortuga Tavern is closed for the season. Pecos Bills had them for a while, but now they are gone. You could instead get a burger or a steak at any number of various places if you wanted a different version of beef and Tortuga was closed, but neither is the same thing as a taco salad. It's really hard to understand how that could be disputed.

You can, but you'd upset the children.

To avoid this issue (lack of properly seasoned and prepared meat for my WDW meals) I take a wagon with tubs of different meat types (seasoned taco meat, pulled pork, braunschweiger, etc) into WDW. However, the tubs are made to look like I'm doing work which also gets me in for free. I just walk past the magical Mickey head and loudly announce, "Contractor of some type coming through! I certainly won't be selling and eating delicious tacos and other sundries for free despite the odors that may be emanating from these buckets because the one lid wouldn't seat even after I had my daughter sit on it while I tried to push the rim down over the lip!"
