The Spirited Back Nine ...

I mentioned earlier in the post that BH6 merch is **** near impossible to find this Christmas season, save for a few items. Honey Lemon dolls are going for 3 times their original price (or more) on eBay and have been sold out on the Disney Store site for over a month.

This might seem like an odd place to find it, but I just saw a bunch of BH6 toys (like those Pop bobbleheads) at the local Barnes & Noble, which seems to swell even more to toy store similarity during the holidays.

You think were bad here? Go talk to the club Members on micechat

Wow are they angry but from the chatter it looks like the usual TDO stuff is in play, bait-n-switch, nepotism (club manager was a Flight Attendant - Love to understand how THAT qualifies her for manager of a private club) and our perennial favorites cost and menu cuts along with double digit price increases.

The selfsame Orange Bird which was associated with one of the most rabid homophobes to ever walk the earth, Anita Bryant.

The irony is strong with that fanboi icon.
Hey... the Orange Bird is not on trial here. The Orange Bird is also an animated non-existent business icon. Anita Bryant is an individual with an extreme lack in real moral direction. She was representing herself not orange juice. Maturity dictates the separation of the two things and since you don't see Anita around anymore, the message did indeed get through. The message was we should not tolerate the intolerant. Ironic isn't it! It's really a screwed up world we live in isn't it?

Considering the OB was designed for HER AD campaigns - and went away at the SAME time she did, I'd say that was a symbol pretty closely associated with AB.

AB leveraged her spokesmanship for the orange growers into a platform to attack the LGBT community which was downright slimy of her.

Agreed it was associated, but, it wasn't guilty of any form of discrimination on it's own. It was something that just happened to be part of the ad campaign. There is no reason to not reintroduce it without even a minor thought that it, in and of itself, had anything to do with Anita's lack of sense.
