The Spirited 11th Hour ...

Star Tours was never Canon.

Im pretty sure it was back in the Lucas "Lawless Society" days. Of course, now? Who knows. ST2 has no sense of continuity at all.

It was: The Third Death Star in the ride, according to more recent Legends sources, was a repurposed "worldcraft" that an Imperial warlord named Ennix Devian quickly had dressed up as a Death Star to function as a decoy in order to distract New Republic forces while he sent a group out to raid their shipyards and steal some warships. The trick worked.

So yeah, in trying to figure out how to fit the original Star Tours into the timeline, they pretty much removed any sense of triumph that one might have in "Yay, we blew up a Death Star".

In other news Disney craps on another Star Wars fan event. (From Slashdot) and the Can't have fun with Star Wars Department

I actually wondered how long until stuff like this was cancelled or blocked by lawyers.
Now the question is.. do the owners of Lucasfilms knows? I 've seen so many lawyer groups that go and throw massive amounts of copyright notices in social media. Even when they do not even covered or protected the real content ownes (aka they are "hunting" for money)

Like Taylor Swift's lawyers who blocked her own videos on youtube due to copyright along with dozen of wedding videos on youtube angering a lot of her fans. The things that happen when people are money hungry.

As someone who is burned out on Star Wars and Marvel and franchises in general, I must say the Fantastic Beasts trailers have done a remarkable job selling the Potter quasi-spinoff. I think it was a stroke of genius to set it decades before the original series; fans get to hear references to Hogwarts, Muggles, and Dumbledore, but the story is exploring new (and Jazz Age) locations.

Universal's gotta be licking their chops with the possibility of incorporating this into the parks. Funny to think back a few years to the endless fanboi debates about the Potter franchise "being done."

Yeah, but then you read the "Magic in North America" stuff on Pottermore that functions as the movie's backstory and you discover that Wizard America is somehow more constraining and isolated from the Muggles then Wizarding England is (Like against the law to interact with muggles outside necessary business period) and how there's strict Wand Control Laws in America, all because JK thinks the Salem Witch Trials were a way bigger deal then they actually were. Add the awkwardness surrounding her take on Native Americans and you start getting the feeling she's becoming Phantom Menace-era George Lucas.

technically, they might try to smother you to death. But thanks to their fluffiness.. they fail.

Since you bring it up.

The Cat’s Diary

Day 983 of My Captivity

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet. Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates my capabilities. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a “good little hunter” I am. Bastards!

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of “allergies.” I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow, but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released, and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded. The bird must be an informant. I observe him communicate with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now ...

A few more for @Soarin' Over Pgh. I wouldn't really say Shanghai Disneyland completely got rid of Main street. It's actually about the same number of buildings as a typical Main street, but they splayed it into a Y shape and obviously strayed away from the Americana.

Wow, thank you Brian!!

Ok, so that's a bit better. I'm still curious to see if they're going to stick with the concept art- I'm interested in how this unfolds. Also, how the local citizens are going to react.

I heard tickets for SDL are sold out for the few few MONTHS- has anyone else heard this?

...I still don't care for that gaudy castle.

It will be a definitive "Universal" attraction. It will do everything Universal does best.

There will literally be guests screaming before they even get on the ride. Even I am stunned at how far Universal is going with this attraction. I love it. There will be LOTS of complaints.

Is it wrong that that makes me smile?

If it's wrong, I don't want to be right. You have me SO excited for this- I'm dying to know more, but I also don't, because I want to be surprised! :)

Disney's getting in on the Escape Room fad. New Corporate Team Building Meeting offering in the form of this Steampunk adventurer themed thing.

NO one is talking about this? This isn't another cash grab? Come on people- Cheap Cheap!

P.S. I swear I recognize the guy on the right from Adv Club- perhaps Otis T Wren?
