Stanza V - Fantasmic 2000

With just under 2 days left in the fifth Stanza, let's take some time for some behind the scenes info! Our plan is for each stanza (or most stanzas) to have a Fantasmic 2000 post that shares some fun facts and info about the making of this competition by @Outbound @PerGronStudio and me! It can also serve as a convenient reminder that the current stanza is almost done!

The First Big Twist

For Stanza V's Fantasmic 2000 post, I'm gonna talk a bit about the big plot twist at the end of Act 1 and where the story might be going!

Another Big Plot Twist! No BTS Info! Mwuhahaha!!!! (It's fun getting to be evil for a stanza)

Ok, tiny bit of BTS info. Originally Bob Iger was going to be Eisner in disguise, but then I thought Chapek would be funnier.

That's it for Stanza V's Fantasmic 2000! Act 2 will move fast, so don't expect a F2000 every stanza during it. If there's anything you're interested in learning about, let us know!

The L.A.N.D. Entertainment Group European Parks Revitalization Project
(Or LEGEPRP for short)

--Gardaland--

Gardaland is packed full of cool rides and visually exciting mini lands but lacks a consistent focus. The vast majority of the $250 Million Dollars will be spent on a complete entrance overhaul: Terra Del Prezzemolo, which will refocus the overarching storyline of Gardaland. The rest of the park remains largely the same, asides from a rebranding to create formal lands.

Terra Del Prezzemolo

The highlight -- no, the entire point -- of this expansion is Terra Del Prezzemolo. The Medieval Entrance to Gardaland is the oldest in the park. Now under the control of LEGEPRP, it will be overhauled entirely. Everything save the carousel will be demolished, and the land will start anew.

It is now themed directly to Prezzemolo, Gardaland’s mascot. The friendly long-eared dragon lives up at the top of Montagna Meraviglie (Wonder Mountain) and beckons us to join him on an imaginative river cruise through the various realms of Gardaland.

Or, we could stay at the foothills of the mountain, where the courtyard of a great castle is available for us to explore.

Budget
  • Terra Del Prezzemolo - $140 Million
    • Land Construction - $100 Million
    • Furini's - $10 Million
    • Tavolo da Giullare - $15 Million
    • Fireworks Show - $15 Million
  • Montagna Meraviglie - $100 Million
    • Park Icon Facade - $40 Million
    • Dark Ride / River Cruise Attraction - $60 Million
  • General Park Updates - $10 Million
    • Park Rebranding - $3 Million
    • Adjustments to Outdated Fantasy and Kung Fu Panda Areas - $7 Million
  • Total - $250 Million

--Tivoli Gardens--

Tivoli Gardens is already a very solid park without much room to expand. So, what better way to spend $250 Million improving the park than by adding a second gate! Of course, the second gate would cost more than is budgetted for this current expansion, but a first land can be built with an aquarium to help anchor it as a small scale day trip destination destined for greater things.

Welcome to Tivoli Harbor!

latest

Tivoli Gardens is not your ordinary theme park. It has strong theming on a small scale. Tivoli Harbor keeps up the trend but on a more ambitious scale. Think of it as the DisneySea to Disneyland.

The Harbor is a moshpit of Ottoman, Ming, and Danish architecture strung into a single "International Port". Quite literally any culture can be found here, with random street shows that vary by the day. Early on you'll encounter a Mali Djembe Dance, that night the Russian Ballet has arrived on the scene. Walkthroughs are available in some of the themed docked ships, which again vary widely in culture and time period. Last, street vendors line the avenue facing the waterfront, pushing impulse buys from all times and regions.

At the center of the Harbor (or at least the section to be developed in its initial expansion) is the Grand Forum, home to the Tivoli Aquarium. This impressive show building contains a single massive dome with eight surrounding minarets. Within, there are eleven exhibits to explore including all kinds of fish, sea turtles, and even sharks! The sharks are found in a big circular exhibit -- at the very center of the dome -- and the other 10 exhibits positioned along a horseshoe path around the shark tank. The Aquarium is EAZA Accredited and there are plans to expand as Tivoli Harbor Expands.

Budget

  • Tivoli Harbor Phase 1 Infrastructure/Bus System - $100 Million
  • Tivoli Aquarium - $50 Million
  • Sailfish Soar Launch Coaster - $50 Million
  • Flying Fish Swings - $30 Million
  • Whrilpool Riders - $20 Million
  • Total - $250 Million

--Blackpool Pleasure Beach--

Blackpool already has some amazing thrill rides that serve as big draws! Plus, it has some very well themed attractions like Valhalla and Wallace & Gromit. Also, it has an inherent draw as a vacation destination being along the beach and boardwalk.

So, what should the $250 Million be spent on? It is time to elevate Blackpool to the next level! The Park will be given two new immersively themed lands: Viking Village which will be built around Valhalla and Haunted Harbor which will be built around Wallace & Gromit and the Ghost Train. Plus, the more loosely tied together Nickelodeon Land will be transformed into Bikini Bottom: The World of Spongebob Squarepants!

  • Viking Village - $60 Million
    • General Land Update Costs - $10 Million

--Europa Park--

Imagine a world where man and prehistoric beast convergently evolved, leading to a CIVILIZATION where humans and dinosaurs coexist. A world where humans and dinosaurs work together to develop buildings, farm, and even do battle. All of that and more is coming to Europa Park in the summer of 2021 with the newest expansion of the park: DINO-EUROPA.

1582778948334.png

Set between Ireland- Children’s World and Grimm’s Enchanted Forest as well as directly north of England, Dino-Europa will contain four attractions, a new restaurant, two shops, some of Europa Park’s most high tech animatronics. This expansion is projected to cost a staggering $250 million USD and is projected to be completed before the summer tourist season.

Budget
  • Infrastructure - $80 million
  • Cretacecoaster - $55 million
  • Dino-Europa River Cruise - $90 million
  • Pteranodon Fliers - $5 million

--Full Descriptions--

Though Descriptions for most of the Expansions can be found on the map, the full descriptions will be kept here for ease of access.
  • Terra Del Prezzemolo
    • Land of Prezzemolo (Gardaland's mascot). This is themed to a medieval castle, in honor of Gradaland's original area. Nevertheless, huge improvements have been made to the area. Check for yourself!
    • Castle Walls
      • The Transgardaland Express is elevated and placed atop a large castle wall, blocking the area. It ends right as the two village facades begin, transitioning away from a high castle into a whimsical village, before entering Rio Bravo.
    • Transgardaland Express
      • The Gardaland Express is reworked into a castle guarding the mountain. In addition to the queue's retheme, the train now goes along the castle walls and ends by heading through the mountain, into a part of the dark ride with Prezzemolo before exiting.
    • Interactive Activities (x2)
      • A detailed play-area for children themed to medieval life in a castle.
    • Giostra di Cavalli
      • The classic carousel is the only part of the entrance that remains untouched.
    • Emporio
      • The general store for Gardaland. All gifts come through here, make sure to stop by!
    • Restrooms
      • Obligatorily Hippo Splatter Wall reference.
    • Furnini's
      • A relaxing sit-down restaurant within Terra Del Prezzemolo overlooking the mountain. Named after the original founder of Gardaland.
    • Tavolo da Giullare
      • "Jester's Table", a quick-service restaurant with sitting around. Themed to the Court Jester, this area is frequented by comedic mini-plays and jousts, often with a moral at the end. Gardaland Express passes overhead.
    • Fontana Magica
      • Prezzemolo's Magic Fountains stand below his mountain and on interval sprout a dazzling water show! Marked area includes the splash zone.
    • Una Celebrazione di Gardaland
      • "A Garadaland Celebration". Major fireworks show playing ever night at Gardaland (save a few exceptions). It's advised to get to the park entrance before it closes to watch Prezzemolo's Celebration.
    • Montagna Meraviglie
      • At the end of the village lies a majestic mountain, which towers over the park. Instead is an imaginative boat ride adventure! The attraction, titled Montagna Meravigilie, stars Prezzemolo on a journey to all the other lands of Gardaland. This helps unite the feeling of a park. We learn that Gardaland was created by Prezzemolo as a place for everyone to live their wildest dreams -- a bandit, an astronaut, a pirate, you name it. This gives the park a thesis statement.
  • Parking/Bus Plaza
    • There will be a small parking lot built for Phase 1 of Tivoli Harbor. Mostly featuring Employee, Handicap, and Premium parking spots. The majority of parking available will be over at the nearby Tivoli Gardens Park. A new fleet of busses will serve as transportation between the original park and the fledgling second gate.
  • Tivoli Aquarium
    • The Tivoli Aquarium will be the biggest draw to Phase 1 of the new Tivoli Harbor Expansion. What it lacks in size, the Aquarium makes up for with quality. 11 Exhibits to explore including all kinds of fish, sea turtles, and even sharks! The sharks are found in a big central exhibit right as you enter with the other 10 exhibits positioned along a horseshoe path around the shark tank. The Aquarium is EAZA Accredited and there are plans to expand as Tivoli Harbor Expands.
  • Sailfish Soar Launched Coaster
    • The Fastest Fish on Earth, the Sailfish, serves as the inspiration for this new B&M Launch Coaster! It will take guests on a thrilling tour around the outside of the Tivoli Aquarium. It will be roughly as intense as the Incredible Hulk Coaster (Another model of the same coaster type from the same manufacturer), but with a higher focus on speed and less inversions. The aim is to create something thrilling enough to satisfy coaster fans, but still accessible to families.
  • Flying Fish Swings
    • A Swing ride themed to the ever fascinating Flying Fish. The tower the swings hang from and spin around features a beautiful mural of the titular fish soaring through the sea and the air.
  • Whirpool Riders
    • A Muzik Express flat ride themed to boats caught in a whirlpool!

  • Viking Village
    • A Land themed around Vikings! Building off the groundwork of the incredibly successful and beloved Valhalla (Which is currently in the middle of a major refurbishment IRL as we speak), the area near the main entrance will be transformed into a home for the fearsome Vikings! Rockwork will be extended to surround much of the land instead of just Valhalla. Plus, plenty of Ice and snow.
    • The Ship of the Viking King (New)
      • Crashed on an iceberg is a large scale replica of the Ship of the Viking King! It serves as an icon for not only the land, but the park as a whole. It also doubles as a walk-through attraction through the caverns in the iceberg and around the ship! This will replace the sculpture garden, though many of the sculptures will find homes elsewhere in the park.
    • Ice Blast (Updated)
      • The Ice Blast Drop Tower will remain, but it will be given some more theming to tie into the frozen, viking landscape. Specifically, the titular "ice" which is currently missing.
    • Maelstrom Mayhem (New)
      • A swinging ship flat ride that shall be themed to a viking ship that has been cursed to be stuck in a never-ending maelstrom! Wind and water effects help elevate this above a simple carnival ride. This replaces the Flying Machines Flat Ride.
    • Sleipnir's Speed (Updated)
      • Derby Racer will stay mostly the same, but some new paint and decorations will help it fit into the rest of the land. The new theme is that the Vikings are hosting a horse race to honor Odin's legendary steed, Sleipnir!
  • Haunted Harbor
    • A land themed to a village at the water's edge full of the ghosts of sailors and explorer's from throughout history! As well as all kinds of other spooks and specters. Vampires! Zombies! Were-Rabbits! Gasp! Visually, this land uses a mix of rockwork and water features (built off of groundwork laid by the River Caves and the Fountain Show) and a run down New England village with a muted, yet vibrant color scheme full of purples, greens, and oranges contrasted by dark blacks and dull grays. The Ghost Train will stay the same, but everything else in this area will be either be replaced or updated.
    • Haunted River Caves (Updated)
      • This says updated, but it is practically new. The classic version of the River Caves dark ride took guests on a trip through time, but often to dark environments. This new version will take guests on a tour through caverns haunted by the spirits of Sea Voyagers from throughout history. Zombie conquistadors, Ghost Pirates, the Loch Ness Monster, etc. The tone is dark, but family friendly dark. Something along the lines of Phantom Manor. Most figures are kept very simple. The focus is on atmosphere more than animatronics, gags, and big effects.
    • The Monsters of Midnight Lane (New)
      • A new interactive shooter dark ride designed by the Sally Corp. Guests will join two kids on bikes from the 80s, Stephen and Matt (named after Stephen King, creator of IT, and Matt Duffer, creator of Stranger Things. Two properties that inspire this ride). An army of Shadows are attacking their small, New England Town. Taking the form of all kinds of classic monsters as well as simple shadow creatures. Guests will take some flash lights and blast away to defeat the monsters and get a high score! All while 80s style synth music plays and Stephen and Matt crack jokes over walkie talkies. This will replace the incredibly dated Alice in Wonderland dark ride.
    • Lighthouse Lounge Restaurant (New)
      • A new Table Service Restaurant featuring New England style seafood! It will be sold out of the house at the base of a lighthouse (which will serve as an icon for the Haunted Harbor Land).
    • Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit (Updated)
      • The Wallace and Gromit Dark Ride is already mostly themed to the movie, Curse of the Were-Rabbit. Some minor changes will be made to theme it more fully to the spooky, yet fun, Were-Rabbit story to fit within the Haunted Harbor land.
  • Bikini Bottom: The World of Spongebob Squarepants
    • Nickelodeon Land will be transformed from a loosely tied together collection of different, mostly outdated, IPs into a celebration of the cartoon series with the largest impact and legacy from, not just Nickelodeon, but the modern era as a whole. Spongebob Squarepants! Simple rockwork, decor, bubble blowers and other placemaking will help transport guests under the ocean and into Bikini Bottom!
    • Bikini Bottom Blast (Updated)
      • The Nickelodeon Streak Coaster currently wraps around the border of Nickelodeon Land. As a part of the transformation into Bikini Bottom, the Nickelodeon Streak will be rethemed into Bikini Bottom Blast! There won't be any major changes beyond a new coat of paint. It will be painted a muted blue color with some of the "sky flowers" that can be seen in Spongebob added to the sides. This will help the coaster serve as a large backdrop for the under water world!
    • Spongebob's Best Day Ever (New)
      • A new suspended dark ride will take guests on a tour through iconic locations from the shows such as the Krusty Krab, the Chum Bucket, Goo Lagoon, and many more as we follow Spongebob through his Best Day Ever! Effects will be kept simple with screens/projections used to help keep the budget down. Being suspended, the ride will make guests feel as if they are truly floating through Bikini Bottom! This ride will replace the Dora's World Voyage Boat Ride and serve as a new anchor for the land. Guests will enter through the iconic Pineapple Under the Sea with the queue weaving through Spongebob's house.
    • Jellyfish Fields Tours (Updated)
      • This log Flume will take guests on a tour of Jellyfish Fields! They'll see Spongebob and Patrick Jellyfishing along their way of course. And even wander through the Legendary Temple of the Golden Jellyfish! This will be a retheme the Rugrat's Lost River flume ride. It will even reuse some of the current decorations to create the Legendary Temple of the Golden Jellyfish.
    • Flat Ride Rethemes (Updated)
      • The remaining flat rides themed to shows such as Avatar, Fairly Oddparents, and Avatar will all be reworked to Spongebob themes! Mrs. Puff's Boating School, Plankton's Evil inventions, Flying with the Jellyfish... They'll be so many exciting adventures here! Plus, all the flat rides will give the land an amazing kinetic energy that will help bring Bikini Bottom to life!
  • The Thrill Zone Updates
    • The rest of the park won't be getting major overhauls. It is mostly large scale coasters for the remaining areas. So, they will be grouped together as a fourth "land" known as The Thrill Zone. This land won't be immersive or tied together with one theme like the others. Most of the budget will simply go to improving the visuals. New coats of paint in bright, vibrant colors. LED lights added to the tracks of coasters so they can serve as almost light shows weaving through the land and each other (Sort of like Slinky Dog Dash). The focus here is really on beautification more than anything else.

  • Cretacecoaster
    • A brand new steel coaster located in Dino-Europa. Take a series of exciting twists and turns at breakneck speeds. Hitting a maximum of 75mph, this makes Creacecoaster the second fastest coaster at Europa-park (behind Silver Star) and the ninth fastest coaster in all of Europe. The coaster twists and turns past animatronics of dinosaurs including Troodon, Styracosaurus, and a massive Argentinosaurus.
  • Dino-Europa River Cruise
    • A brand new boat ride going through a new man-made river, the Dino-Europa River Cruise is a slow moving outdoor attraction guided by a skipper. Pass through the Dino-Europa river as your skipper tours you past all kinds of wild dinosaurs. From coelophysis to tyrannosaurus, your boat passes a large number of animatronic dinosaurs. As you pass through, you may even get a glimpse of some of Dino-Europa’s dinosaur/human partnerships, such as a stegosaurus hauling a cart of produce down a trail to market as well as a tribe of Dinomen (a feral group of people who worship dinosaurs) and their pack velociraptors who ambush your boat.
  • Pteranodon Fliers
    • A small aerial-carousel flat ride. Hop aboard a well-trained pteranodon and get a birds (or reptile) eye view of the rest of Dino-Europa.
  • Cretaceous Carousel
    • Always wanted to ride your own dinosaur? Well the carnival is in town and they brought their tame dinosaurs for you to ride. Whether you hope to ride on a maiasaura or a majungasaurus, you will have your opportunity on the Dino-Europa Carousel.
  • Dino-Europa Cafe
    • A new table service restaurant featuring a selection of animatronic dinosaurs to dine(osaur) with. Try a brontosaurus burger or a plate of spicy dimorphodon wings as well as a series of specialty drinks from the Volcano Bar.
  • Dinoporium
    • The Central gift shop, here, a series of merchants have brought their wares, from dinosaur t-shirts, hats, pins, and many other goods and items relating to dinosaurs and the Dino-Europa.
  • Fossil Finds
    • The secondary gift shop and main exit to the Cretacecoaster selling dinosaur eggs, fossils, and other cool prehistoric finds.
