Confused Matthew is one of the most infamously caustic critics in the reviewing community. He is notorious for hating films that are praised by the general consensus. (Basically, he's the Internet equivalent of Armond White.) He is also notorious for having a massive ego and severe opinion myopia; as established when he infamously bashed Roger Ebert just because he recommended Minority Report. (Look it up; it really happened.)

I remember enjoying Doug Walker's videos in my early teens and then the revival happened and I didn't care anymore. Lindsay Ellis was always the better reviewer to me.

For me, it was a combination of Doug's gradual flanderization, as well as the revelations brought about by the Change the Channel movement, that made me lose support for him.

If you want a good example of Doug's flanderization, I point you towards the way he unironically opened his Sibling Rivalry video for the Beauty and the Beast remake; particularly, this lovely bit of that inane rap he did: "Everybody applauded at the end because they loved Jungle Book and Cinderella." Basically, he's saying people who like the Disney remakes are stupid. That "rap", if you can even call it that, only serves to make Doug look childish and immature; which are definitions that fit him to a T. It's all thanks to Doug's flanderization. He, too, has developed severe opinion myopia. He cannot stand the fact that people like something he doesn't.

If you want to watch it for yourself, I must warn you: it's unbelievably cringe-y. Even Rob looks uncomfortable!

My favorite Internet video reviewers will always be the theme park reviewers: Tony Goldmark, Charlie and Haley Callahan and David Ganssle. They have such a strong circle of friends who make various appearances throughout their videos, and I really love the camaraderie they all share.
Agree,I love the theme park tube gang and I will be sad if season 3 really does end up being defunctland's last.

If we’re criticizing The Lion King, we’re talking about Simba’s lack of development till the third act and lack of likability the entire film, Nala not getting anything to do in the climax, Timon and Pumba’s uselessness, the extremely overrated music (Circle of Life aside, as I’ve said it’s one of the greatest openings in cinema history), Scar’s queercodedness, there are so many more original complaints than the whole Kimba thing
