The Seas with Nemo & Friends Brings Familiar Characters to Life Inside Epcot Aquarium

The Seas with Nemo & Friends, a whimsical and visually stunning attraction for guests of all ages, is scheduled to open at Epcot in Fall 2006. Featuring technology that for all appearances has the stars of "Finding Nemo" swimming amid the live marine life of the huge aquarium in The Living Seas pavilion, the attraction is an adventure that picks up where the motion picture left off.

The undersea voyage begins aboard "clamobiles" in a colorful coral reef setting. Guests first meet Mr. Ray and his class on a field trip and soon learn that Nemo has wandered off.

The journey to find Nemo continues as familiar characters such as Dory, Bruce, Marlin, Squirt and Crush help with the search along the way. These deep sea friends inhabit a variety of vibrant vignettes, including the actual aquarium -- one of the world's largest saltwater aquariums -- which contains more than 65 species of marine life.

In the musical finale of the attraction, Nemo is happily reunited with his class and friends.

Upon exiting the attraction, guests can explore the rest of the pavilion, which is home to "Turtle Talk with Crush," the smash-hit recent addition featuring the movie's laid-back sea turtle, who interacts with guests in real-time, unscripted conversations; Bruce's Shark World, an interactive area with colorful graphics and fun facts about sharks; and live marine life in both the large aquarium and specialized exhibits.

Can't wait. Sure I'll miss The Living Seas, but I think this will be a very worthy replacement and I'm sure I'll like this even better.

This should be really cool! I'm very excited to see this.

My question is...(and I never got to ride sea cabs, so I'm only going on what I've heard about it)...will this ride be longer than the Sea Cabs were? Or are they just sprucing up that area and re-opening it?

We'll, this means that we will either hear the next attraction announcements at the Grand Opening of Pirates of the Caribbean or the Grand Opening of The Seas with Nemo and Friends. I'm expecting news on the next attraction for MGM Studios, an announcement on a new attraction in the old Wonders of Life space and a final announcement on what will be done with the space where the Timekeeper is now buried...

I'd say there will probably be a press event for the end of the Happiest Celebration on Earth, perhaps sometime in October. At this event:
A) We'll hear about the next "celebration".
B) Something for the Disney Studios.
C) Other stuff.

The omnimover is back! Well, that's assuming that the track was extended and not replaced with something else. This one will be a people-eater, so lines shouldn't be that bad.

Based on the description, I'd say there's at least a 100% chance that the ride will be longer.

It sounds like we'll be going through some sets before going into the aquarium. Then we'll go through another room with a song and dance and a happy ending, before we unload and go back into the pavilion.

Keep in mind that they no longer need to use any of the old theaters (I want to say there were two sit-down theaters and one single circlevision theater) that were part of the original preshow, the hydrolators, or the queue space. To give you some idea as to how much space there is, note that TDL, DL, and DLP all converted their CircleVision theaters into full Buzz Lightyear rides.

The thing I'm confused about is the upcoming pavilion layout. Will we be required to go on this ride to get to the pavilion? If not, then where will the main pavilion entrance be? Surely they can't let that glorious mural and rock formation out front go to waste.

I bet we'll still go in through the main entrance, but there will be a direct walkway to Sea Base Alpha. (I'm hoping this will be well-themed, and not just some drywall-lined walkway.) The current entrance/shop area will probably serve as the exit.

I think the Main Entrance/mural areas will be for the entrance for the ride. If you want to go into the pavilion without doing the ride you will have to enter through the exit.

That would be my guess as well. With the elimination the hydrolators at the exit, you can freely walk in and out of the pavilion through the sliding doors. I'm curious if they will make that choice obvious via directional signs or if most guests will still consider the only way to enter the pavilion to be through the ride/main entrance.

I think The Seas with Nemo and Friends sounds like a very neat new experience. I'm pretty excited about it. As with the other Nemo-related items, I expect it will continue to pull the crowds into the Living Seas, something it hadn't been able to do for quite some time prior to the first Nemo addition.

I'd expect the song at the end will also be used at the AK for the new Nemo Show there. I've heard that Disney is very excited about this song, thus chose to use it both places.

I'm kinda confused is this going to be like the one at AK. This just dosen't make sense putting 2 Nemo shows in at the same time.:lookaroun

The one at Epcot will not be a show. AK is getting a Nemo show. Epcot is getting a Nemo Attraction.

I'll admit, it does sound pretty weird. Hopefully it will work.

I think people are thinking WAY too much into this end musical thing.

I'm picturing that we all find Nemo with some inspirational instrumentals in the background. Not some crazy fish version of A Chorus Line.
