I think you are. In my opinion, it is an old attraction being reborn with a new STORY, new technology, and characters to trick people into learning about the ocean. I'm not familiar with the old ride, but I think it was basically just a ride through an aquarium. I'm pretty sure guests (and children) will appreciate this more. This also adds more of family area for guests that Epcot hasn't gotten in a while.

Eh. Good point. Although you make me think... The Seas are going to be overrun by the tater tot segment of the crowd. Between that, and Turtle Talk, plus "looking at the pretty fishies"... Be prepared for it to be so loud in there you can't hear yourself think. And think of a stroller parking section out front to rival those in Fantasyland. <shudder>

But... Disney is for everyone. Often focused to those of ankle-biter level. No big deal. Just be prepared. :lookaroun

But this whole thing troubles me a bit. Just judging by the few comments that have been made about this, it seems more about entertainment than "edutainment". Which is supposed to be the goal of TLS, and Epcot overall. Plus, common sense would tell you they're going to clone a good hunk of this from what's going in Disneyland... Which everyone knows won't be about education.

The new version of the Seacabs will be the form of transportation to get you too the "Edutainment", but with entertainment along the route of transportation. It's a good system IMO.

That is why we only visit at strategic times. We haven't dealt with serious crowds since '97.

Agreed. Can you say Mid-September, anyone?
"Mom and Dad, I don't understand why everyone complains about all of the strollers and people in Fantasyland, there's no one here!"

"Oh look, IaSW only has 5min wait time!"

"Tower of Terror only has a 13min wait time!! Get us a FP for RnRC while we ride."

The off season ROCKS!

Exactly!

Utilizing new methods of storytelling is great. There's been very little "edutaining" about TLS in a LONG time. One problem was there just wasn't enough going on to bring the people in. Without the guests, there's no reason to keep the displays refreshed and interesting. This new attraction will bring the people back to the pavilion so they will have a need to keep the supporting displays fresh and continually changing.

I'm looking forward to seeing this!!

Thats right. Its the same system that is also going into the new Nemo attraction at the studios in Paris.

Do you mean California? I thought the Paris Nemo ride was just an indoor coaster?

This could be very interesting...I've heard rumors of this technology for a few months now. It looks like could be true.

There's been very little anything happening in TLS in a LONG time. I can't remember the last time I've been in there. I'm excited about the new attractions in there now!

It sounds like they are going to use the same thing as the subs here in DL, but it will be very easy to do it over there. All they will have to do is build out the seacabs tunnel to add the boxes on to each of the windows. It will be intresting to see how that works out due to the fact the seacabs are a omnimover with no break in the cars so each window will have to carry on the story over and over again for 2-3 cars at a time.

While I am not to fond of the cartoon-a-facation of TLS it is a way to get people in to a attraction that has not been very popular for a good number of years. Plus so far everything they have done has been ok.

The Paris Nemo coaster is using the newly developed projection systems (its more than just an indoor coaster, it has some cool effects). All 3 of the nemo attractions (DL, Paris and Epcot) are using shared developments in this projection system.

No, until they put the cranes out front there was no way to even tell the pavilion was being worked on. At least there wasn't when I was there.

Are they going to find a way to make the ride longer? If I'm remembering correctly, the seacabs portion of the ride was fairly short.

Ellen would be voicing 2 FW attractions......that would be a bit strange

Does anyone else realize that out of all the possible celebrities in the world, out of all the possible famous people who would like to do a voice or cameo in a Disney attraction, that the one who is central to now two Future World pavilions is Ellen Degenerous? Indeed, very strange.

Whatever, I just hope they use Albert Brooks' voice in the Nemo ride. He is truly an awesome and hilarious man.

i'm sure that the entire cast will reprise their roles in the attractions. I believe that Disney has a clause in their voice acting contracts for animated films that covers any future attractions based on the characters
