It'll be interesting to see how many of Nemo's "friends" they include in the attraction.
I'd like to see the starfish character trying to swim around! :p :p

I'm curious how they are going to get any of the characters to swim. Will they just be stationary, or will they be some sort of advanced technology?

I'm just making an educated guess here... But I'm assuming they're going to use a lot of the same technology (and probably show scenes) from the sub ride being redone at Disneyland.

From what I gather, that is involving some type of projection system onto basically plexiglass that's in the water. Doing it that way, you wouldn't see the plexiglass, being as it's clear and in the water... Making it seem Nemo and the gang were just "magically" swimming in the water.

Thinking further... If they do it this way, they're going to have to somehow keep the real fish from swimming between the show scene and the guests, which would block the view. I don't know... Maybe plexiglass boxes? Maybe a second plexiglass wall just inside the main one, and effects take care of making it seem like Nemo is out in the middle of the tank?

But this whole thing troubles me a bit. Just judging by the few comments that have been made about this, it seems more about entertainment than "edutainment". Which is supposed to be the goal of TLS, and Epcot overall. Plus, common sense would tell you they're going to clone a good hunk of this from what's going in Disneyland... Which everyone knows won't be about education.

OR... Maybe I'm just being WWAAAAYYY too worried about it and I should just relax. Just see it for what it's intention might be... A fun ride to get you into the Seabase... Where then you can learn a few things.

I think you are. In my opinion, it is an old attraction being reborn with a new STORY, new technology, and characters to trick people into learning about the ocean. I'm not familiar with the old ride, but I think it was basically just a ride through an aquarium. I'm pretty sure guests (and children) will appreciate this more. This also adds more of family area for guests that Epcot hasn't gotten in a while.

If Dory is in this ride this would be Ellen's THIRD FW attraction.
Well, UoE's days appear to be numbered, so that brings us down to 2. The whole Living Seas Pavillion could also be considered the same thing, so that brings us to one.
