Before this turns into a shouting match that's not what I'm saying. I'm just saying he didn't lower his expectations and we shouldn't either.

It should be mentioned that it looks like this issue... Minor as it is... Was caused by doing maintenance.

No shouting match needed and I think we actually agree at the core of the issue. While I certainly agree that Disney needs to step up their game in certain regards such as maintenance, to me it is still far from a step above mediocrity.

Go to Six Flags one day (especially Great Adventure) and tell me that anything Disney is only a touch better than that.

Ummm..., yeah, Six Flags over Atlanta's used gum tree. Need we say more?

(Well, they may have removed it since we were there last. Completely disgusting! We haven't been back.)

Oh, the water was more than a bit cloudy, it was red. Filtration system issues from what I have heard, basically to the point where they could need to completely overhaul it, since it is close to beyond the point of bandaid fixes. They've also be fixing a lot of leaks as well over the past...close 8 months or more, I believe.

Guys, stop shouting. It was a water quality issue which left behind a less than magical image that most guests would prefer not to see. I`ll leave it there and I`ll leave it to you to imagine what happened.

I believe that ... knowing that Brad Rex wanted to close the entire pavilion in his term as VP, I can only well imagine how much NEEDED work on the place was put off (or had 'bandaid' fixes) since UT pulled out of sponsorship back in the late 90s.

You just can't run parks this way.:hammer::brick::hammer:

I have several Aquarium as well as a reef tank and a couple things which could cause cloudy water on that scale are a massive bacterial bloom, major sand cleaning, or adding sand. All of those would cause the water to be very cloudy to the point of not being able to see more than a foot into the water.

Also micro bubbles can be an issue if there was a problem with a pump which caused a large amount of cavitations, but I don't think that would effect such a large aquarium.

And before people worry about the bacterial bloom, that is something that all tanks experience, but not typical of a well established tank unless something happened to kill off the established bacteria in the tank. Which if they had an outbreak of disease they may have heavily dosed the entire tank to treat the problem and that dosing might have killed off the established bacterial colony at which point you would get a bloom once the conditions were favorable for the bacteria to reestablish itself.

I was in the Seas thursday night and all was fine. I do remember thinking that the water looked cloudy but I just thought it was due to the quality of the glass of the tank.
The tank glass windows are all in great condition still, so unless there is a problem with the water quality, the visibility is normally crystal clear.

If the filtration system is in trouble, "cloudiness" could be a code word for "fish ________ all over the place." Swimming in their own muck, so to speak.

Were Uncle Jessie and Joey still able to do their radio show?!?

Best episode ever. Gonna go on record saying that Stephanie was so annoying. Glad Michelle won Princess for the day. Steph totally ruined the day and stole the spotlight. You let her go in front of you - get over it. Clearly...I'm still bothered by it.
