The Roller Coaster Chicken has a question

In general I am a roller coaster chicken, but there are a few exceptions. I love BTM and SM, but have never been on Everest. How scary is Everest in comparison? I also have to think about the kids. My DD 9 loved BTM 3 years ago and DS 6 rode BTM but was not interested in riding again but he was only 3 at the time so hopefully he will have a different idea about rides this time. Thanks for any help. :geek:

I am not a fan of coasters. I have tried them all once to see what I like and what I don't. EE is well themed and an interesting ride. I recommend trying it once.

Depends if you mean splash mountain or space mountain. If you can handle space Everest shouldn't be that bad just expect to go backwards.

Besides the main drop and backwards part, it isn't too bad. It's well themed and a fun ride. I think you could handle it, it isn't too bad

The backwards portion could be an issue, but isn't too intense. The rest of the ride is fine with just one bigish drop. Its a bigger ride than either of the MK mountains, but it looks a lot scarier than it actually is.

Just remember that will go backwards. I can handle any roller coaster you can imagine if it is going forward, but when they start going back even less extreme than Everest I start to feel sick... if you have any doubts about your ability to ride and not get sick, do it on an empty stomach or a few hours after you've eaten.

EE isn't a really bad coaster by any means but it's good fun. If you're scared of heights then you won't much enjoy the first lift hill. After that you travel backwards for a while mostly in the dark however there are no backwards drops as such, just going quite fast and tilting round corners. Once you return to travelling forwards there's only really one big drop as you leave the mountain which is comparable to the drop on Splash Mountain. Give it a try, if you can do Space Mountain then you should manage EE.

I was the biggest of roller coaster chickens, I would avoid thunder mountain and space mountain like the plague then my friend urged me to get on and after that it was history. Now I have ridden all the major e tickets in every park! So no worries youll be just fine!

Agree with this. Plus EE is MUCH less painful than Space Mountain!

Depends on what scares you..:) it does go backwards, it is fast, it's a bit more "coaster-like" then space mtn, If you don't like the big drop on splash, I doubt you would enjoy the drops on Everest. That being said, I think it is one of the best mid-range coasters going, and my 10 yr old adores it.

I am the roller coaster chicken.
I have ridden EE twice and it terrified me both times but at the end I wanted to go back on..but then after my trip was over and I came back for another trip, I was terrified and refuse to even go on it again..
So I will be taking any advice as well!

I conquered Splash and the big drop there doesn't scare me, I put my hands up on that

I always found EE to be less scary than SM, mostly because of the darkness in SM.
I suggest EE because 1.) the story line is great, 2.) the backwards section is really cool, and 3.) where else can you see the disco yeti? :D
