Trip Report The Real Housewives of Disney-A Sept 2013 Cruise/WDW Trip Report

I guess I'll join the Girl's cruise crowd and start my trip report!

“Howdy Folks!” Welcome to another PartOfYourWorld trip report! This is my second attempt at writing a trip report, because I was about 4 days in when my Mac decided to not download something and my hard drive had to get wiped..well at least this was the only thing I lost really! I just had to start over again! Here is a little bit of info before we begin….

The When: Saturday September 7th-Sunday September 15th

The Where:7: POR Royal Room; 8-12: Disney Dream; 12-15: Wilderness Lodge

The characters: Mom and I along with 20+ of our WDWMagic friends! (Thanks to someone for the instagram pic!)

I had the most amazing time with the ladies on this cruise, and highly suggest it if you can go since it is now an annual thing! We made some lifelong friends here, and I can’t wait to get this trip report started! “Now then, hang on to them hats and glasses, cause this here’s the wildest ride in the wilderness!”


Saturday September 7th-Arrival Day

We arrived at the airport for our flight, before anything though, some Dunkin was a must!

Before we knew it, it was time to board and we were ready to head to Orlando!

We had some nice seats right over the wing!

Another thing that was pretty cool was that it was a wi-fi enabled flight, and I was pretty excited to use flight tracker! Here we are flying over North Carolina.

Finally, after what seemed like forever we were in the sunshine state!

Our flight landing was pretty rough; it felt like the left side tires in the back had hit the ground first along with the front, then the right followed after. We definitely landed at an angle and it was a little scary! But we made it safe and sound after that and soon we found ourselves on the lovely monorail wannabe!

We had to wait a good 30 minutes for our luggage, it took awhile for the bags to come off our flight. I know we should make use of the luggage service for DME, but I would rather take my own bags and have them right away then wait for possibly 3 hours until you get your bags in your room.

Once we got our luggage we headed straight to DME where we were able to use our magicbands that we got for this stay! It was super easy and great because you didn’t have to fumble with the paperwork!

We didn’t have to wait long at all for a bus, there was one already outside waiting! And look at this sign…we’ll be headed that way tomorrow!

We didn’t end up with the regular DME bus, but rather a Water Parks one!

Finally, the heaven’s gates opened and…oh wait it’s just the gates to Walt Disney World no big deal or anything

We were the last drop-off on DME (figures usually we’re always one of the first) but we were finally here at Port Orleans Riverside (my favorite moderate resort!-next to POFQ)

Check-in was a breeze and we were soon on our way to our Royal Room!

We were in the beautiful Oak Manor section.

We went to use our last fastpass+ at Buzz!

Mom ended up winning here!

Monster’s Inc laughfloor was up next and I loved the new references to Monster’s U!

We continued on to Fantasyland, and saw this…couldn’t believe we were missing it by days…

From pictures I’ve seen I haven’t been impressed so far, but I guess I’ll have to see it in person before I make a judgement.

I do love the lights in the queue line though!

Couldn’t pass up the Haunted Mansion when we were walking right by!

We continued into Adventureland because we had two things on our minds: Dole Whip Float & Citrus Swirl!

Here is my Dole Whip Float!

Mom had the citrus swirl but apparently I got a picture of the Sunshine tree Terrace instead lol.

We went to join Jess over by the Plaza to watch the fireworks. We hung around a little bit to soak up every last minute of the moments we had in the Magic Kingdom. Jess and Stephanie were leaving in the morning.

We lingered a bit in the shop and we said our goodbyes to Jess while she stayed to watch the Main Street Electrical Parade. We figured we had let most of the crowd go out…but boy were we wrong…this is the line for the express monorail…..crazy…I can only imagine what it’s like the week between Christmas and new Years!

As we got in line for the boat to Wilderness Lodge the Electrical Water Pageant was on!

Love this resort.

We made sure all our luggage was packed, because we were making sure we got to park opening the next morning to maximize our park time!

There was still some fun to be had on our last day so stay tuned!

Sunday September 15th-Leaving Day

We got up early, grabbed our bags and checked them in for our flight and our carry ons with bell services. We will definitely miss our room over at Wilderness Lodge. We headed down for one last breakfast at Roaring Forks. I didn’t take any pictures again I think we had waffles. Some lady was very nice and offered us her two last meals on her dining plan because they were leaving right after breakfast and would lose them. Thank you so much to that very nice family!!!

We were at the boat dock around 8:10. It was too early to take the boat straight to the Magic Kingdom, so we decided to take the boat to the Contemporary and walk over. It was definitely promising to be a beautiful morning!

Hello Bay Lake Tower!

I was texting Darolyn to tell her we were heading over to the Contemporary, as we were approaching the boat dock she told me they had just walked out of the resort! We met them by BLT and walked over to the Magic Kingdom together! It was nice to spend time with friends on our last morning!

Using our magic bands for the last time! I seriously love these things and the green Mickey lights.

We had plenty of time to see the Morning Show!

Hello Cinderella Castle!

We made last minute fastpass+ reservations on my phone to follow along with Darolyn, Ashley, and Terryn. It was really easy!!!! We headed into Fantasyland through the castle!

Peter Pan’s Flight was up first!

We headed to the Haunted Mansion after!

Next up was a ride on my favorite…yes the Little Mermaid!

Oh Eric…

While we were over there we had a date with a certain buff guy…

Even though he had a long line, he took the time to interact with us for a while. Acting all well I’ll leave you to fill in the blank there…

Just can’t resist that Gaston…

I think he spends more time in the mirror though in the morning than the 3 of us combined.

Welcome to the gun show

We said our goodbyes and went on our merry way

Couldn’t figure out what this little door was for though!

We walked to Tomorrowland and took a ride on Space Mountain

And headed right to Adventureland and pirates of the Caribbean!

Disney told us that we were going on the happiest cruise that ever sailed, but I’m pretty sure we came off that a few days ago!

We said our goodbyes to Darolyn, Ashley, and Terryn and headed for our last ride of the trip…The Little Mermaid!

Why hello again Gaston!

It was a great last ride, and I wasn’t going to take any pictures but we got stopped right in front of Sebastian in the Kiss the Girl scene so I couldn’t resist.

It was pretty cool that you could see Wilderness Lodge from the boat dock

We had a little time to waste before the dreadful DME came so we just hung out in the lobby.

And before we knew it we were having our traditional leaving meal at MCO

Sad to be going home.

The flight was uneventful and before we knew it, we were home. We couldn’t believe that the trip we’ve been planning for 2 years for was over. Definitely one of the top trips I’ve ever been on being with everyone. So thank you thank you to all the ladies who went on this trip; we had a blast!!!!!!!!!


Final Thoughts

Plug-in here…since it’s now an annual thing I think all the WDWMagic ladies on here should head on this trip at least once! I’m not sure when the next time is that I will make it, my husband and I have a few trips up our sleeves for the next few years, but when I get a chance I totally will go!!

Disney Dream: Flawless as always; great service better than anything I’ve ever encountered in Walt Disney World. Top notch at everything. LOVE IT. Can’t wait to go back on a cruise again.

Wilderness Lodge: I LOVE THIS RESORT. I would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms were very nice, and the service was great. And with it being so close to the Magic Kingdom it just can’t be beat!

Port Orleans Royal Room: If you’re a princess fan…you HAVE to stay in one of these! I loved seeing all the different princess references and the headboard has fireworks! Can’t beat that. Riverside is one of my favorite resorts.

Now don't you worry!

I’ll be back with another report before you know it because I’m taking on the runDisney Glass Slipper Challenge as part of the Princess Half Weekend in Feb and I can’t wait!!!! I’ve been training hard so it should be a good one! You don’t want to miss it! Oh and my husband and I will be staying at the Polynesian!

There is nothing to worry about. Even if you think you might be sea sick take some medicine for it before you go on. I know my mom did because she gets motion sickness sometime, and she was fine. Your report was a treasure trove of toes! So many toeses!!

Everyone was hanging out down in the water. I got out of the water to bring my tube back and grab something else and when I walked back down into the water, well I almost lost my top. Luckily, I caught it just in time and asked Courtney (@Howe) who was closest to me at the time to help me out. Everyone started busting out laughing as the cabana boy/attendant came running down the beach asking if I needed any help. Yep I must say it was pretty funny. I guess it had to happen to somebody!

We decided to all spend our last minutes on this island just sitting and staring at this beautiful ship. Mom, myself, Ashley, Darolyn, Tammy, Missy, and Christina. (Thanks to @jesemeca for this one )

Don't you love being so close to the lobby. For my birthday we were the second room on the front of the building closest to the lobby at Pop. I was so excited.

I was so excited about possibly meeting Marty Sklar, till I realized I had to buy the book there.

I loved going over the road, after having driven under the water so many times.

I was waiting inside the Test Track gift shop for at least part of that rain. I was charging the phones and downing a frozen Coke! It was glorious. LOL.

Mexico has never been as awesome as when the Jess' appeared!

Those ornaments were expensive, too expensive.

I can't believe you had never seen the Voices of Liberty before. Aren't they great?

The boyfriend loves all of my Vanna White pictures.

Le Cellier...Where do I begin? Pretzel bread, those cheese fries and that steak. Oh my word, I'm hungry again.

I love the stage show. And then those fireworks. The last time I saw fireworks at MGM was when I was little and it was still MGM. I loved seeing fireworks here again.

I enjoyed partying with you and mom till one a.m.! It was awesome!

I hope they still have the root beer slush in May, my brother will love that!

I love being so close to the lobby! When I did online check-in for the Poly, I picked a building that was semi close to the lobby but farthest away from the construction and with a balcony so hopefully I get that!

I know i was bummed out about that, but oh well I still can't wait to read the book. I think I may bring it in Feb to read on the plane. Even though I have to catch up with the Kingdom Keeper series too!

And guess what, I'm going to hate that road in 19 days because during the princess we have to run under the bridge! UGH talk about a hill....

Well I mean I've seen them at the Candlelight Processional and in passing but I think it was the first time I actually stopped to watch them. They were beautiful.

nothing too special at Mama's but it's a nice place to eat in DHS if you don't feel like eating at the other places. It's cute inside too. Feels like a homey Italian restaurant.
