Trip Report The Real Housewives of Disney-A Sept 2013 Cruise/WDW Trip Report

I guess I'll join the Girl's cruise crowd and start my trip report!

“Howdy Folks!” Welcome to another PartOfYourWorld trip report! This is my second attempt at writing a trip report, because I was about 4 days in when my Mac decided to not download something and my hard drive had to get wiped..well at least this was the only thing I lost really! I just had to start over again! Here is a little bit of info before we begin….

The When: Saturday September 7th-Sunday September 15th

The Where:7: POR Royal Room; 8-12: Disney Dream; 12-15: Wilderness Lodge

The characters: Mom and I along with 20+ of our WDWMagic friends! (Thanks to someone for the instagram pic!)

I had the most amazing time with the ladies on this cruise, and highly suggest it if you can go since it is now an annual thing! We made some lifelong friends here, and I can’t wait to get this trip report started! “Now then, hang on to them hats and glasses, cause this here’s the wildest ride in the wilderness!”


Saturday September 7th-Arrival Day

We arrived at the airport for our flight, before anything though, some Dunkin was a must!

Before we knew it, it was time to board and we were ready to head to Orlando!

We had some nice seats right over the wing!

Another thing that was pretty cool was that it was a wi-fi enabled flight, and I was pretty excited to use flight tracker! Here we are flying over North Carolina.

Finally, after what seemed like forever we were in the sunshine state!

Our flight landing was pretty rough; it felt like the left side tires in the back had hit the ground first along with the front, then the right followed after. We definitely landed at an angle and it was a little scary! But we made it safe and sound after that and soon we found ourselves on the lovely monorail wannabe!

We had to wait a good 30 minutes for our luggage, it took awhile for the bags to come off our flight. I know we should make use of the luggage service for DME, but I would rather take my own bags and have them right away then wait for possibly 3 hours until you get your bags in your room.

Once we got our luggage we headed straight to DME where we were able to use our magicbands that we got for this stay! It was super easy and great because you didn’t have to fumble with the paperwork!

We didn’t have to wait long at all for a bus, there was one already outside waiting! And look at this sign…we’ll be headed that way tomorrow!

We didn’t end up with the regular DME bus, but rather a Water Parks one!

Finally, the heaven’s gates opened and…oh wait it’s just the gates to Walt Disney World no big deal or anything

We were the last drop-off on DME (figures usually we’re always one of the first) but we were finally here at Port Orleans Riverside (my favorite moderate resort!-next to POFQ)

Check-in was a breeze and we were soon on our way to our Royal Room!

We were in the beautiful Oak Manor section.

Going up anyone?

I had the best seat in the house! Smack dab in the middle in the last row!

Okay last one! I told you I wasn’t kidding about this light obsession!

We went to cash in our fastpasses at TSMM with Jess and Stephanie!

Oh look, I won again!

And I was best in vehicle…again!

Mom and I were getting hungry, which was good thing because we had lunch reservations at Mama Melrose’s!

There was a ton of people in here, and some were getting turned away because they were booked. We checked in and waited to be seated.

It didn’t take long…maybe 5/10 minutes?

Since we probably weren’t going to eat the rest of the night we made sure to fill up here! For an appetizer I had fried Calamari which were really good and mom had a side salad

We split a pizza for an entrée…I can’t remember what this one was called….it was pretty good though.

When we were done our lunch we wandered back over to Sunset Blvd because we heard they were giving out wristbands for limited edition tshirts that night…and we got there at 3:30 there was already a line forming, we had nothing else better to do really so we waited in line! And it filled up soon after…

Luckily we had some friendly neighbors so we passed the time talking and just enjoying the atmosphere.

Finally at 5 o clock they handed out wristbands for tshirts, you had to tell them what size you were looking for and they gave you a colored wristband that corresponded with the size. They were going to start giving them out at 6 so we just hung around Villains in Vogue until then.

6 o clock finally rolled around and I got my coveted shirt, which was totally worh the wait because it had all my favorite Villains on the front! And yes I do wear it at home to show my villain pride!

So what did we do next? Well we headed towards Echo Lake to see what those character lines were like….they were starting to fill up fast…and you had no idea whose line you were standing in (there were 3) and we didn’t know who was doing meet and greets so we just hopped in one and waited….

My phone was in need of a charge bad and the only one I could find close was right under this sign…

It was funny watching everyone walk in and out for drinks while giving you weird looks until they realized you were charging your phone. I joined Mom in line after it finished charging while the sun started to set…

Finally the Villains show at the stage started, which I now regret not going there instead of waiting in this stupid line. It started a little late around 815/820.

Oh ya and here’s a pick of the crazyness that ensued in this area…..

SO who’s line were we in you ask? Well Malificient and the Bowler Hat Guy…unfortunately Malificient was out first and I wasn’t waiting anymore for the Bowler Hat Guy from Meet the Robinsons. But I must say I had some great interaction with Malificient and she even yelled at my mom for taking too long with the camera! Hahaha

We headed out of that MASSIVE crowd to meet up with a member of the running team I belong to. She said it took her 2 hours to get into the park. People were even having a hard time getting from the resorts here because it was so packed! See Disney you could make bank even more than you already are if you have more Villain stuff! At this point I belive I heard the park reached some sort of capacity as well.

We went to do some more waiting on Hollywood Blvd for Villainy in the Sky fireworks! It was fun people watching though and listening to the continuous show going on the stage with Hades, Meg and Pain and Panic.

Our view of the beautiful moon and fireworks.

Some of our friends came and join us to view the fireworks, Tammy, Jess2, Courtney, Siobhan, Missy, and a few others! I have no idea how they found us in the sea of people lol I just kept waving!

Villainy in the Sky!!!!

The fireworks ended to the Pirates of the Caribbean movie theme song which Mike and I had as our processional after getting married. The whole soundtrack to the show was songs by Villains in the movies. It was AMAZING. Hands down this was the BEST FIREWORKS SHOW IVE EVER SEEN. Yes it was even BETTER than Wishes. And it was the first time I had ever seen fireworks in Hollywood Studios, my favorite park so it meant that much more to me.

We parted ways with our friends and went in search of other Villains.

Hades Hangout was in the middle of the park at the hat and they had Villains in the wild! Big Bad Wolf, Dr. Facilier, the Sheriff of Nottingham, Cruella, Captain Hook, and Gov. Ratcliffe.

I had a way too up close and personal encounter with the Big Bad Wolf…we were watching him dance in the middle of the circle of people. Then he starts moving towards me, and he got closer….

Then he got right up in my face stared at me and licked me…. It was just a little too close and weird for me. This picture was right after it happened.

We hung out in the hangout and watched the DJ and show with Brimstone (you may recognize these guys)

The end of the show at Hades Hangout was awesome they brought back all the Villains of the night.

We partied til the 13th hour with the villains and we were tired! Luckily we had plans to sleep in the next day!

Wow, look at those crowds at Hollywood Studios!! Craziness!! I actually read an article comparing how Disneyland and WDW faired with the event. They said DLR got it right by blocking the date and not allowing cast members in and their parking issues were better, but the party itself was said to be better at WDW. It was an interesting read...

Those WL pic are making me miss it really bad! That's my "home"!!

It was crazy!!! And I forgot you guys were at the Halloween Party that night. That's interesting, I was wondering how Disneyland's event did. Regardless of the crowds and endless hours of waiting, it was a lot of fun. I'm just glad we stayed at DHS all day that way we didn't have to fight the traffic getting in on a bus with everyone else.

I think you might be the first report I've read that enjoyed the Villians party - because you did it right and planned your whole day for it. Loved your pics, and love the villians shirt! (Why do all of my comments involve clothing...)

hahaha WOW. I haven't had a chance to read anyone else's report from that time yet (well except a few that were on the cruise with me...wish there was more time in the day! I can understand why people wouldn't have liked it if they came in late with the traffic, etc. I mean besides the waiting, which was awful. It was still a great time! And thanks! hahahaha Disney just has awesome clothing! And speaking of clothing...but I've noticed that more places are coming out with Disney clothing besides Hot Topic...Rue21, Forever21, and Wet Seal are the major ones I've seen.

I have to get my act together and finish my trip report, I left off just before Unleash the Villains started!! I think I'm procrastinating because finishing the report will be like closing the door on that wonderful trip.

Thanks! SO happy we got to see them all together! Those were just AMAZING fireworks. In fact I think I;m going to go on youtube to see if someone has a video of them......

When it comes to things in Disney I usually don't mind waiting in lines...other than that...forget it. LOL. I don't have very much patience sometimes.

I have to finish up mine too...been a week since I posted the last update. Going to try to get it out there tonight; if not soon. I think with the holidays everything is just crazy! And I have to agree with that...it will be like closing the door But our next trips are coming up fast!

it was AWESOME! Well...besides the waiting part and that is the first time I've ever seen him in the parks, actually alot of Villains...I wish they would bring them into the parks!

Saturday September 14th-Welcome to the Magic Kingdom!

We woke up as we pleased today, but we were still up before 8 haha. I mean your in Disney come on! So we headed on down early to our breakfast reservations at Whispering Canyon!

Our waitress was good, not too many crazy antics but still funny! I had scrambled eggs with bacon and some of Mom’s omelet for breakfast while Mom had a Western omelet I think? Both were really good!

Since we were taking our time today, we went and take a few pictures of the front of the resort.

We always missed the Old Gyser by like 5 minutes…oh well and it was always around 5 of or at the top of the hour!

Our first stop was…Pirates!

We made our way through Fronteirland where I saw these two cute munks!

We ran into Jess, Courtney and her husband Austin, and Siobhan sitting over by the Liberty Tree. They were headed towards Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and they invited us to join so off we went!

Since it was Siobhan’s last few hours we were doing some rides she wanted to do so we crossed over the hub and went into Tomorrowland.

Space Mountain!

I tried taking this picture and failed miserably.

Mom and I said goodbye to Siobhan and we headed off to New Fantasyland to use our fastpass+ reservations for the Little Mermaid.

The mine train is coming along well! Crossing fingers it’s opened in May when Mike and I go for our 1st anniversary!

We made our way over to Splash Mountain because we had some Jess’ to meet!

We were here because we wanted to take the most EPIC picture ever. No not this one…

We had to explain to poor Woody that because his name wasn’t Jess he couldn’t be in the picture. Jessie was ecstatic about it and pushed Woody away.

We all went over to Peco Bills to grab a bite to eat, and I tried a root beer slush which was wicked good!

We headed back to Big Thunder I think to use fastpasses that Austin got for us. We said goodbye to Jess, Courtney, and Austin since we were all leaving tomorrow. It was awesome spending time with them and can’t wait to see them again!

Mom and I had a fastpass+ reservation in Neverland to use before heading out for our big dinner!

I love this new mural down near where the old bathrooms used to be.

This ride is seriously impossible to take pictures in.

We headed towards the front of the park because we had a reservation at the Hoop Dee Doo Review!

We had a boat completely to ourselves!

Finally it was time to go in, and there were our seats!

These two were a couple of my favorites!

And with that the show was over. It was really great doing the Hoop Dee Doo again, since it had been a while since we had. The food was okay, not something I would do all the time, but the dessert was the best! We made our way back to the boat dock so we could spend our last evening in Walt Disney World at the Magic Kingdom!

But anyways we headed to Tomorrowland and took a spin on the Peoplemover!
