Trip Report The please convert my boyfriend TR

Finally! My very first TR! Been waiting a yr for this. Since joining this forum I am amazed at all Ive learned. You would think Ive never been to Disney. I have heard people talk about the music, smells, food etc...So thanks to you all this is going to be the most magical trip yet. It is going to be about firsts and noticing the little stuff and finding the gems in the world.

Things I plan on seeing, doing or eating for the first time are, MK opening ceremony, ride the train, tomorrow land people mover, fountain of nations, tom sawyer island, nutella waffle, tonga toast, butterfinger cupcake.

Who is going. My name is Gina. I have been a hairstylist for 27 yrs in Charlotte NC. At 46 yrs old I am the child in the family. (literally. only child, no kids myself). My first trip to Disney I was in my 20's and the Disney bug has only gotten stronger.

My boyfriend of 3 yrs John. He is the adventurer, thrill seeker, world traveler. He is not a believer in the magic like I am but Im hoping he will be converted. Ive been sending him youtube clips, music, movies to prepare him for the trip. This will be his birthday month and he has no idea the attention he will get.

Headin out tomorrow and will be in touch.

Just finished reading your whole report (so far) in one sitting, and VERY much enjoyed it!
I could spend half the night commenting on sooo many of your posts. But, instead, let's just say that it was so much fun reading about the things you two kids ;) did for the first time that we've done so many! Your TR was, and I mean this as nothing less than a total compliment to y'all, truly like seeing it again through the eyes of a child! :)
After all...

Anyway, thanks for sharin' and lookin' forward to (although, bittersweet I know :( :)) your wrap-up as soon as you can get to it.
Thanks, again! :)

Dinner was at Coral Reef. This was probably my favorite meal. Definately the best dessert. I had lobster pasta.

We had fast pass for Illuminations. It was a reserved section at the two gift shops. Great spot. John thought this was the best fireworks show. The finale was crazy. Awesome show! We actually got out pretty quickly and not much wait for the bus.

Day 7- Today we go home and I cant even begin to describe how sad I am. But first its time for Tonga Toast which I learned from this forum. We took the bus to MK and got the boat to Poly. We ADR at Kona. The weather is again gorgeous. The Tonga did not disappoint. Holy cow was it good with the strawberry stuff.

Being very full we went back out on the beach and I probably got a little 15 min nap. Then we got back on the boat over to our last view of MK.

Yes, I actually got teary eyed. Too funny. John had to pull me away from trying to keep looking.

Then we got on our last bus ride back to the resort. I actually enjoy the bus rides too.

At the resort we filled our mugs with some hot chocolate, got a croissant and sat by the pool a little bit waiting for time to go. Here we are waiting for DME.

Overview- We could not have gotten better weather.

I liked Pop Century but like All Star better.

We liked the magic bands. We had one time where fastpass didnt show up but we had changed things at a kiosk and maybe thats why.

The service was great everywhere. Johns favorite food was at Whispering Canyon and 1900 Park Fare. Mine was probably Coral Reef. We loved the Sci Fi restaurant. Dont think I would purchase the dining plan. I honestly dont think I can eat again. Soooo much food and it kinda kept us on a schedule but we had it for free and it was great to have all that. I would never have tried all those restaurants without it.

John mentioned he'd like to come back and see the fireworks shows for sure and try out other restaurants. He even asked if we were aloowed to stay at two different resorts in a package. Like get in a couple days at GF or Poly. So maybe things did rub off a little bit. When he gets back from his current trip I may have him post his views of our Disney trip.

It was fantastic! Until next time.

Great finish to your trip! The sad selfies are so funny.

John has good taste in fireworks--Illuminations is my favorite, too! ;) Coral Reef gets a bad rap around here, but I like it. Last time I ate there, I had the lobster pasta, it was good!

I don't think I've ever seen anyone wear Minnie ears quite so well--you look adorable in all your pictures with them. :)
