Trip Report The please convert my boyfriend TR

Finally! My very first TR! Been waiting a yr for this. Since joining this forum I am amazed at all Ive learned. You would think Ive never been to Disney. I have heard people talk about the music, smells, food etc...So thanks to you all this is going to be the most magical trip yet. It is going to be about firsts and noticing the little stuff and finding the gems in the world.

Things I plan on seeing, doing or eating for the first time are, MK opening ceremony, ride the train, tomorrow land people mover, fountain of nations, tom sawyer island, nutella waffle, tonga toast, butterfinger cupcake.

Who is going. My name is Gina. I have been a hairstylist for 27 yrs in Charlotte NC. At 46 yrs old I am the child in the family. (literally. only child, no kids myself). My first trip to Disney I was in my 20's and the Disney bug has only gotten stronger.

My boyfriend of 3 yrs John. He is the adventurer, thrill seeker, world traveler. He is not a believer in the magic like I am but Im hoping he will be converted. Ive been sending him youtube clips, music, movies to prepare him for the trip. This will be his birthday month and he has no idea the attention he will get.

Headin out tomorrow and will be in touch.

Now its getting a little later which is what we saved TOT for. Again I kinda wanted to get out of it and again John wouldnt let me and again I thought it was the beest ride ever. I do NOT remember it going up and down that many times. Was sooo fantastic and fun! Especially looking out the window at the lights at night.

As you can see Ive learned how to keep writing in between pics. Lol...So ready for the famous butterfinger cupcake. We head to Starring Roles. Talk about a Griswald moment. It was closed. I had no idea it closed early we were there just after 6 pm.

We then went on to the lights which I posted above. So now dinner time. My new favorite restaurant...Sci Fi. It was the coolest ever. Again the shakes are considered drinks on the meal plan and again John had 2 lol.

We stopped to watch a bongo band getting started. John had walked away for a moment while I was standing there waiting for the band. The lead guy was getting people going and spoke to me. As John is walking back to me the guy noticed his bday pin and and says to me "hey you know its Johns bday". Not having any idea we are together. I say really, and John says nice to meet you and puts me in a dip and lays a liplock on me. Guy freaked out. Pretty funny. So of course he gets him back by having John do a little dance with the group. Hes always up for participating. As you can see I got my turn too.

That's really funny.

Day 4- so this is our relaxation day. Only it didnt feel like it when we still had to get up early for our breakfast at Ohana. It was fantastic. Tusker was my favorite and now it may be Ohana. Got pics with all the characters. The little ones beside us loved all the characters but did not want Stitch to come near them.

After a great breakfast we walked around to check out the polynesian. Beautiful grounds. We walked out on their beach. It was very warm today and we were able to chill just a little bit looking at the castle in the distance.

Feeling really good now we decided to use our vouchers for the winter/summerland mini golf. We played the winter side. Very neat course. John won by 4 points.

Back at the room we were able to get some pool time in. Just layed out a bit and enjoyed the warmth and rest. This has been a great catch up day.

After a perfect day we're headed to DD for dinner at Raglan Road. A girlfriend of mine lives in Tampa and she met us. Our first time at RR. It was a great restaurant. Whatever kind of stuff they had for dipping the bread was great. The gnocchi was the best. Had I known it was pasta I would have gotten that. The lemon tart was also great. John loved the bread pudding.

Now back at the room, not too late and watching Christmas Vacation. Big day tomorrow.

Day 5 - Our biggest day. Had no intentions on staying ay MK the whole time. I planned on coming back for at least an hour or so rest and go back. Well that plan went out the window.

We got there around 8. Couldnt wait to see the opening ceremony for the first time. We were very early so not many people were around and we were able to get good pics with no crowd. John quickly became the photographer for a line of people.

The opening ceramony was so good. Loved the music. For the first time I got teary eyed at Disney. The lady beside me cried and we just looked at each other laughed. It was so great. Even John said it was a little emotional. I said really? See its magic!
