Trip Report The please convert my boyfriend TR

Finally! My very first TR! Been waiting a yr for this. Since joining this forum I am amazed at all Ive learned. You would think Ive never been to Disney. I have heard people talk about the music, smells, food etc...So thanks to you all this is going to be the most magical trip yet. It is going to be about firsts and noticing the little stuff and finding the gems in the world.

Things I plan on seeing, doing or eating for the first time are, MK opening ceremony, ride the train, tomorrow land people mover, fountain of nations, tom sawyer island, nutella waffle, tonga toast, butterfinger cupcake.

Who is going. My name is Gina. I have been a hairstylist for 27 yrs in Charlotte NC. At 46 yrs old I am the child in the family. (literally. only child, no kids myself). My first trip to Disney I was in my 20's and the Disney bug has only gotten stronger.

My boyfriend of 3 yrs John. He is the adventurer, thrill seeker, world traveler. He is not a believer in the magic like I am but Im hoping he will be converted. Ive been sending him youtube clips, music, movies to prepare him for the trip. This will be his birthday month and he has no idea the attention he will get.

Headin out tomorrow and will be in touch.

Upon entering we headed straight to Sleepy Hollow for the nutella waffel. Noone was around and we sat at a table and just enjoyed the scenery in quiet. The weather was fantastic today. No jacket needed.

Now that we had our breakfast our first attraction was haunted mansion then pirates of the carribbean and jungle cruise. Our guide was great. No long lines for any of them.

We got to see part of the show at the castle and part of the street party. Then I specifically looked for the wishing well which I dont think Ive ever noticed before. What a beautiful little spot. We made our wish.

Now onto Fantasyland. Now I have to say I was pretty let down with the castle. For some reason I thought the beasts castle would be something like the other. One you can walk thru and have the restaurant and shops inside. I couldnt believe it was just something off in the distance. Same with the tower. Not something you actually walk up to. They made good pics tho.

Lovely photo of you and John at MK opening! I've only seen the opening show once, but it made me cry, too! Isn't it nice to find kindred spirits among total strangers? :)

You made Beast's castle look better than real life--I agree, it's a bit of a disappointment, although I did know that it wasn't going to be life-size.

Gaston does great character interaction. Did you meet him yourselves?

No, we didnt get to meet Gaston. I really wanted to but it was a bit of a line. I wish I had come over to see the opening more than just the day we were there. It was so exciting.

I love the Magic Kingdom opening show too - it makes me teary eyed every time. That waffle looks great its on our list for our next visit - love your photo of the beast castle - you should try to have lunch at the be our guest restaurant - If not you should be able to look around if you get there before 10am, they have the ballroom you can look around and the west wing. Enjoy the rest of your stay - I am still following along!

So John got his acting debut at Enchanted Tales. I wasnt sure exactly what it was and had to wait a little bit but it was soooo cute. John got to play a soldier guarding the castle. He did so good. I was proud. Lol...

Another first was going to Tom Sawyer Island. I loved it. Thought it was the neatest place. We came across a little porch on the water with rocking chairs and sat awhile. I noted to self to remember this spot. A great getaway and could see and hear the parade a little.

Im actually at the Orlando airport now catching up on the last couple days.
So I have never ridden the trail. This is one of our last couple things to do before getting ready for Electric Light. Loved all the little scenery stuff they did throughout.

Our last ride for the day was the people mover. At this point I dont see how my feet are holding me up. Feet, ankles, knees really hurting. So this ride felt really good. It was a nice long ride. I was surprised. Great way to relax.

Our original plan was to get Caseys hotdog and get a spot for the parade around 7:30. Haha...people were camping out at 5:00 I think. So we got our hotdogs probably around 6:30 and had no clue whaere to start to go. On the other corner of Caseys, at the directory was a little spot, noone there yet, with some kinda box that made the perfect little table for two and perfect view. It was right in front of the walkway so cast members kept everyone away from standing in front of us.

The castle projection show was the most amazing thing ever. Just blows my mind what and how they come up with this. Wishes was just gorgeous. I did not want it to stop.

We took our time leaving. Made our way to get icecream, sat there awhile, sat at the train station awhile then got in line for buses. Still waited about 45 min bus.

Just a few more pics from our day.

Oh, I think I forgot to mention we ate lunch at Columbia Harbour. We did just like the forum told us to. Got a window seat upstairs. The Lobster roll was fantastic.

I knooooww...I had it booked at the 180 day mark. The same day was the only day we could do Wishes so I had to pick. The ELP, CTM and Wishes won out. I definitely didn't want to miss that and thought I could still walk around BOG and get pics. Was really upset about that I couldn't.

Finally some time to catch up.
Day 6- I did not care what time I got up this morning. Yesturday about did me in. Still got up around 8 tho. Took our time getting ready and went to the food court for a big breakfast. We split the big platter. I think this was my favorite breakfast.
image.jpg

On to Epcot. Love the entrance at epcot and the music. It was about 80 today so just perfect. We rode SE first thing. I always forget how good it is.

image.jpg

Next we rode the land boat ride. Somehow back accident we ran into Mickey And Minnie again. Pictures with them were so fun.
John wanted to ride MS and I just cant bring myself to do it so I got in line at TT and he came on over when he was done. I must say I like the older version much better. I was way more interested in the factory type stuff in line and going through the different weather and road types, the crash dummies. The new version I could hear the lady talking but never really knew what they were testing. The ride and scenery was the same thruout. Still fun tho. Love when it goes around the track full speed.

The wait for soarin is still really long so we did the seas and now on to the countries. Love love walking thru the countries. This time we went all thru and looked at all the shops and really investigated all of it which I hadnt normally done. It was great. Did the boat ride in Mexico and Norway.

I loved the shopping in Morrocco so sweetie got me this gorgeous bracelet. Oh yeah, forgot to post my nails at the beginning of this TR.

Always get a treat in France.
image.jpg

Now I knew knew knew that maybe we should do the countries first just in case. Well just past half way it got dark. I mean Dark. I didnt know not anything would be lit up. My favorite country for landscaping is Canada and didnt get to see that. I feel like I didnt see half of Epcot because it was so dark. Wasnt happy with that but lesson learned.

Found Winnie and Tigger. We just happen to find all the characters. I dont remember them being in private rooms before but I like it. Not long lines for any of them.

So being that we're walking around in the dark and cant see we decided to sit in front of the Fountain Of Nations and relax before dinner. It was beautiful. We sat there quite awhile and just loved watching it. Music was great.
