The Passion

We'll probably get it this week, because, 1) I didn't get to see it at the theaters, 2) It is a must to have in our Collection, and 3) I don't want to get struck down. . .

We may wait until Easter to watch it though.

I don't think I could ever watch that movie again. It is very moving, and the intended message comes across, but it hurts to watch the suffering inflicted.

I would, but to my understanding there are no extras. I want to see the deleted scenes specifically, but if all that's gonna be on the DVD is the movie I don't see the point.

Now South Park's Passion of the Jew I am definantly getting. :D

I didn't see it at the cinema but I think it'll be a rental for me. Is the soundtrack good? I'm always on the hunt for music to choreograph to for my students, I imagine its very emotive.

Soundtrack? Soundtrack? I don't remember a soundtrack?

And I don't mean to sound mean, there just really isn't a noticible score in the film.

If you are a believer I can picture it being emotive, however I lost my faith long ago and so just found it unrelentingly violent and depressing. I can't remember the music.

I'm holding out for a probable Special Edition as well. I'm hoping that it would be a 2 disc edition with tons of behind the scenes material. I would really like to see that.

Definately the most memorable movie experience of my life and I will never forget the day I saw this at the theater.

I saw it Ash Wednesday and believe me the church lost me a long time ago with the CCD crap. It was very moving and almost made me want to go back to church again (haha not quite) but I'll still be a Catholic withoiut church. However, I will noit get this movie. I see no 'entertainment value' as some have said in this edition. This movie is not a Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings where you can pop in every few weeks. I can only take enough blood one year at a time and Easter would be perfect to what the movie but seeing a movie once a year without commentary/extras is a waste of my money, to me. If one comes out that has Mel Gibson commentary and other extras then maybe I will think about buying it.

Oh there is a Blooper real on the DVD.. Here are the chapters:

-Jesus visits the Craft service table and "breaks bread" (aka shares a Twinkie with the camera man)

-Jesus Celebrity Poker Tournament with P Diddy & Ben Affleck.

I see no real value in the picture, unless you truly believe the gospel it preaches.

I don't believe it, so I don't need to see it;)

However, as Legacy said, The Passion of the Jew might just be worth the purchase:lol:
