The Park Formerly Known as Disney's Hollywood Studios? Yep ...

I think something with "Hollywood" is a better fit "Movies", as even back when they WERE a functioning Studio, there was a focus on Television, particularly in the Echo Lake area.

I think something with Hollywood works too. IMHO if they are changing the name at all they need to remove the studio part. If the word studio(s) remains in the name why change it at all? The part they are "rumored" to be removing is the working studio aspect in the back of the park not the Hollywood part in the front.

The only objection I have seen to keeping it Hollywood themed is that someone mentioned that both Pixar Studios and Lucas Films Studio are outside of Hollywood. The obsessive fanboys who will take a literal approach to the name will have a hard time getting over that. For everyone else it's not an issue.

Kind of exciting to hear this. It was pretty expected seeing as they're going down the DCA rebrand/rebuild route.

Wonder what will happen to the great movie ride?

Word from MiceChat is that they're planning an entirely new MuppetVision film for their Muppet Theater, with the Monstropolis plan being shelved in favor of a Marvel expansion of the Hollywood area behind Tower of Terror featuring a Marvel version of Rock N Rollercoaster.

I feel like Muppets would be safe during the DHS work if that's the case.
While I'm not convinced it would the best use of resources given the issues facing both parks, it is extremely hard to believe that money would be approved for the theatre in DCA if the plan was for the Muppets to leave DHS (Disney's Hollwood Synergy).

I honestly think they should just about forget it, when calling it anything remotely to do with Hollywood or studios. My Problem is. Both Disney Studios and Universal orginially called themselves The park where Motion Pictures come to life. It was a tribute to the movie making process. at Universal we had Alfred Hitchcock, I love Lucy, backstage tours. etc. now its been taken over by Transformers, Shrek, etc. same with the Disney Studios. we had Sounds Dangerous, The Great Movie Ride, a Backlot tour, where you can ride on the back of a giant bumblebee or float into space. all of that has been replaced by Nothing except Lights Motors action, and even that may go away. right now all studios care about is taking our money and giving us half decent attractions (more so uni then Dis). Sure it would be nice to have a Star Wars land or Carsland. but at the expense of anything remotely having to do with a working movie studio.

I am a huge movie buff. and with the closing of AFI, Possibly the Backlot tour and eventually Art of Animation. They just rename the park. Magic Kingdowm 1/1/2

Well.... a RnRC was suggested for DCA in the early 00's. Then ToT won.
If I recall correctly (and at my age that aint always too accurate) it was going to be themed to the Hollywood Records Building and for some unknown reason I think No Doubt was rumoured to be used instead of Aerosmith. Or have I skipped my meds again and am completely off base.

Interesting a Marvel version of Rock N Rollercoaster was rumoured for Disney Studios Paris a few months back.
I wonder if the rumour wires are getting crossed somewhere.

That actually rings a bell...
