Trip Report THE ONE WITH A FEW MAGICIANS IN AUGUST šŸ¤”COMPLETEšŸ¤”

Hello again.
I have another trip booked in less than three weeks so I need to power through this. So letā€™s go.....

In my last TR you all convinced me to take a side trip to WDW after dropping my son off at school. I was on the fence until one poster (I am too lazy to look it up) said they would never pass up an opportunity to visit WDW. I agree.

Not too long after that we had a big family get together and I asked if anyone wanted to drive down to Florida with X and I then go to WDW with me for a couple days. My 16YO nephew said yes but he is kind of a nervous type so I did not take him seriously. A few days later his mother, my SIL said, ā€œyou know J was serious right?ā€

I went on DVC and booked a room immediately. I could not believe my luck when I got a 1BR at Boardwalk. I have been trying for 12 years to stay there. Yay!!!

THEN my SIL, also being the nervous type, said she would go too. WHAT???
She was just there at Christmas and she is going with me in September for food and wine. This is way out of character for her.

THEN my youngest, Dre, decides he wants to go. Wait. We are not all going to fit in Xā€™s
truck.

SIL suggests she fly down with the boys and meet me at Disney. That is what we did. Let me tell you about it......

Great stuff as always!..The target on the bottom of Zurg's ship about midway thru the ride is a big point target as well!

Getting ready for our September trip...hope to see you and say hi!!!
If you see me please say hi. I will answer to Darstarr as it was a nickname in college. If I do not see you have a great time!!!
And thanks for the audience participationšŸ‘

My theory on the Jasmine buses is that it's "a whole new world" of driving for the new cast members. šŸ˜
I flat out love thatā¤ļø You are so creative!!!

we call JBBs: Jersey Bus (I can't post here and it rhymes with "ditches")
This is great.
I am sorry I missed the gang, but, as you know it did not deter mešŸ˜‰

I'm not a big fan of the Ample Hills at the Boardwalk either. We usual walk into Epcot and head to the France gelato shop for ice cream instead.
I never thought of that! Great tip! Thank youšŸ˜€šŸ¦

On the Jersey thing, I have to say, I know where you're coming from. I was born in Queens, grew up on LI, college in DC, lived in VA, moved to NJ and now am back in VA. I miss NJ - where we were was a small town that had (mostly) genuine people, not the Jersey Shore type. That said, going to the shore every summer, we definitely ran into them - ALOT. Both LI and VA also have their fair share, (the FLIDs of LI) even though it seems here they are scattered throughout, rather than being congested in one area.

Funnily enough, over the weekend a random stranger thought I had called the cops on him for parking illegally in a fire lane, and decided to yell at me (while I was carrying the baby, coming home from his Christening), with "I don't know how they do it in NJ or wherever you're from". Great southern hospitality right there

TUESDAY 8/27 cont

We followed the masses to SDD. They did not let us in until 8:55. I feel like they were sticking to the rules because of the impending SW:GE opening.

We got on the SDD line but I, once again, had to rope drop

Ugggh. Luckily we were behind a really tall guy with a Dodger hat on (go Dodgers!) so they were easy to find when I returned.
In line selfie!

TUESDAY 8/27 cont.

We headed to Alien Swirling Saucers next, as most people do.
As we walked to the entrance I pointed out SW:GE could be seen through the barrier of bushes. The boys peeked through as they both are huge fans. We got on line for A.S.S.
and what the heck is going on in Galaxyā€™s edge???

Media. Marching in. SIL is in the travel agency business. The company she works for does groups, mostly school, church etc. She found out later through social media she knew people in there. She also told me that her work was invited to some special VIP thing at WDW that would include SW:GE. What? ā€œWhen?ā€
ā€œOctoberā€
ā€œYou are going right? And I could be your assistant.ā€
I dont know what her final decision was. I will find out this weekend. But, she didnt want to miss work. I pointed out it was a work event. Planned by work. Paid for by work. Totally work related!!!
Heavy, heavy sighhhh.

Back to the saucers of the swirling aliens.
