No tour groups, no ECV's, no crowds in August, 20K leaugues, cable cars....good lord we had no idea how GOOD the good old days really were!

And no random Sorcerers lines all over!

I love this picture. Remember the wonder times of hardly any crowds. When did all the strollers start? Back when our kids were small if you took the stroller in the trunk, there would be no place for luggage so you rented one from the MK.

Why were these taken away  I never understood why tomorrowland entrance was covered in rock work that made it look like frontier land to me this screams future, imagine if those were still around today? The amount they could do with projectors on that surface would be amazing.

Have to agree with you my friend! The waterfall feature also had a nice tie-in with the one at the old Tomorrowland cable car station. The red rocks never made much sense to me...it almost seems like a Disney exec went to Sedona on vacation and was so smitten with the ambiance that they just had to share. There is really very little these days in Tommorowland that feels...well, Tommorow-ish.

(really, honey? Who can't summon up a smile in front of the Castle? I only included this one for the benefit of any of those other people in the shot who might be one of you guys looking for yourselves :) )

(and that lovely flowered garment I'm wearing was a romper. I understand they came back last year, but faded away again just as quickly as the first time. Good Riddance!)

scan0004.jpg

Couldn't crack a smile for Mickey, either...maybe those Risky Business shades made him too cool...

scan0003.jpg

There we go, Minnie got him to smile!! (or maybe it was a threat from the photographer)

This one's a great example of the pandemonium of old-style M&Gs, and my official Tigger portrait from that trip, which was only my second ever--first was spring break, junior year of high school, 1980 (and those photos are at my dad's house, maybe someday I'll retrieve and scan them)

You know, thanks to Peter Jackson, every time I see those Tomorrowland towers, I immediately imagine a giant fiery eye on top....

LOL...too funny... I tease my Dad about that photo.. Just a few years PRIOR, he was in the Navy. I guess he turned Hippy after serving in Viet Nam.

Guess I sit in age between you and your Dad. Hippies were never neatly dressed. That photo being the 70's, he entered the Disco era with those platform shoes and long layered hair. The shirt is a puzzle though, had he been to Hawaii in the service?

Do not think he was ever in Hawaii. He was stationed in San Diego and then as a Gunner's Mate, stationed on a "River Rat" boat during the conflict. I was raised in Ft.lauderdale-Miami, so this may have been his Miami look???

We stayed in Ft.Lauderdale or Hollywood for 6 weeks each spring when I was small but can't say I can do a recall of the regions clothes, we tended to live on the beach in swim suits. The rest of the outfit fits perfectly into the 70's Disco era, I can't smack that out of my head, or the 80's with ladies big hair.
