Quite honestly I see much of the current PS4/XB1 turmoil being more emotional that fact based. People are getting upset because they think they should. I have a feeling that a lot of the converts will regret the decision when the dust settles.
Very true, maybe it is best just to play it safe.

I got an xb1 and halo is the last reason. The family sharing aspect will come back if they're smart and sony will be years behind.

I would agree with that as well. People had good reason to be upset at first, but now its just nonsense. The problem is that Microsoft still has not done a very good job of telling their story as a fair amount of people still think the original policies are still in place.

At this point I am not sure how they could. Sony is doing the smart thing and just keeping their mouth shut. The proof will be when the rubber hits the road at the end of November. Once the public has had their hands on both the PS4 and the XB1 for a few days we should have a pretty clear picture.

Sony isn't exactly keeping their mouths shut.. They take a dig anytime they can even if it is off base. I feel like it may take 6 months to a year for these misinformed folks to catch on though. I do 100% agree that Microsoft's PR was awful through the whole thing but the first presser focusing on media functions was not a bad idea. They took a lot of heat from all the gaming media for it but those bozos didn't seem to care that e3 was around the corner. And frankly e3 was really good! All the exclusives seemed right up my alley and to top it off even though 'the division' isn't exclusive.... Wow! I believe that Xbox live is the only way to pull that off as sonys offering is just about to start getting good.

It was interesting to see the same dynamic we have here in the video gaming world. Every time we hear that Disney has a press conference or convention coming up the speculation engine starts to churn. People's expectations go off the charts and they are disappointed when the press conference happens and the 5th gate, monorail expansion, Star Wars Land and free dole whip stations all over property are nowhere to be found.

The launch event was exactly that. "Here is the new console and what it will do. We will talk about games at e3." and the gaming community just lost their minds.

This video goes into what I am talking about the difference between the way Sony and MS have been doing their PR. There is some bad language in the video. The section starts around 45 minutes in.

Exactly. I have no problem with how they went about that because they said that is what they would do. And the funny part is Sony really didn't take a lot of heat for what I thought was one of the worst reveals ever. It was basically, "Hey we are making PS4! More to come!" Point being Microsoft has taken the brunt of all the bad press and Sony has gone right under the radar.

Bumping this cause its getting close! I cleared out a spot on my TV stand for its new home and it killed me to do it but my Google TV is gone because the hdmi pass through can't possibly work well through both devices. :-(

However I'm picking up battlefield 4 this afternoon and I already pre ordered it for the box one.

I am eagerly awaiting the hook up day myself. The rug rat gets my 360 and the blu-ray player and older AV receiver go into the Master bedroom.

Looks like Titanfall will be an Xbox One (360, pc) exclusive forever. For now it sounds like its just the first game so if there are sequels (you KNOW they plan for sequels) they could go multi-platform. Thats a pretty nice feather in Microsofts cap as Titanfall has been a game that has a lot of people excited.

It might actually get me to play multiplayer which is earth shattering.

Thats how I feel as well. I almost never play multiplayer (sometimes co-op) but this game did look like it could be fun.
Same here. I interact with people all day. My video game time is when I disconnect from the world. The last thing I need is a 12 year old informing me of his dalliance with my mother during a round of COD. Plus I really like the story element of the game. Running around mindlessly killing only holds my attention for so long.

That is why I am very interested in the new rep system and how effective it will be to curb some of that.

I agree, give me a good story driven game over multiplayer any day. I am a firm believer you don't need to add multiplayer to every game **cough**masseffect3bioshock2**cough** just to appease that demographic. Titanfall looks like it adds more than just mindless shooting and killing and that is what is intriguing.

Agree completely. I was quite relieved when I heard multiplayer was scrapped in Bioshock Infinity. I will more than likely get COD:Ghosts at launch and hope for a demo of Titanfall. I would really like to give it a dry run before I throw down $60.
