Yes I'm well aware of the soul crushing effects of my statement may have on Epcot fanbois, but really, if Star Tours 2 and MI are coming to DHS and nothing new is added to Epcot, don't you think the appeal of Epcot to the general public might lessen a little?

"Hey kids lets go to the park with the giant golf ball, there's noting new since last year but you might learn something!"

Maybe Nemo isn't working.:drevil::lol::lookaroun

And there's so much potential in EPCOT....Finish SSE, JII, UoE...TT....There's a ton to be done.

OK, I think I understand what the deal is with Barnstormer. It appears it is being kept as a sort of mini-toontown while the current area is closed for Phase 1. It could even have some "temporary" M&G's (fab 5) in that area since the MK will need the capacity. It's interesting to note that BaTB-land and LM-land and Dumbo-land can all be built without shutting anything of consequence down. Also, the same for Cindy and SB stuff and PH. This project is much easier than the DCA makeover from a logistical point of view. In the end however I think barnstormer will be removed or rethemed. If it's going to be a Dwarves mine theme, wouldn't it need to be enclosed like a mini RnRC type concept?

Aesthetically, EPCOT needs a TON of help, though.

EH, again I disagree. Other than the Innoventions plaza, it's the best looking park behind Animal Kingdom. And that's a relatively inexpensive fix. As an EPCOT fanboy, I'd love to see JII, but really there are so many more glaring holes across property that need attention before EPCOT.

Entrance Plaza, Innoventions Plaza, FW East and some transitional areas of WS are in DIRE need of new plants, and a cleaner look. FW West is the only area that's perfect, to me.

As for JII...I don't mind the ride, but want a new one ASAP. You claim to hate the ride, but don't want a new JII right away...What gives, Goof?

Oh, don't get me wrong. I loath the ride with all my heart. But, I just think there are many more problem areas in the parks. DAK needs an expansion. DHS needs many smaller additions to complete it. MK needs 2 e-tickets, 1 thrill and 1 dark ride.

Sure I would love for the JII project to move forward, but I think other things need to be done before my fanboy wish can come true.

I'm thrilled to hear it.:lookaroun:lol::lol:

I agree with your expansion ideas though. From the looks of it, MK is going to be fine after FL makes it's way in with TLM and the rest of it. Even though it's just M?G, it looks fairly immersive and impressive. I for one, would expect FL to come, and then several smaller things, such as refurbs, come after. Maaaaayyybe, a TL Refurb or a AL Refurb several years later.

EPCOT might run concurrent with it. Hopefully it's JII and then projects following.

Even more hopefully, I would think that FL, JII and the MGM Projects will be for a certain date in the future. Smaller projects could come later if they wanted to celebrate for a longer time. Or, perhaps....EPCOT's 30th.;):D

As for MGM and DAK, I think MGM is covered. ST and MI will be nice and though small, do well for the parks image.
DAK, though? The way things look to me, it's a all or nothing. Either they get a HUGE land, or they don't. I really don't see how, or where they could jut tag a bunch of small things in. That tends to make me believe that it will be the last to come about. In the other parks, everything seems easier to build onto...in DAK? Notsomuch. That's just personal convictions though.

EDITED for more random and optimistic thoughts, that will most likely never happen.

Actually, I could see families skipping Epcot to go to IoA.

DHS at least has ToT, RnRC, TSMM etc, attractions that would appeal to kids more than TT or MS.

DAK has animals, which alone gives you something you can't see at IoA plus Everest and other rides.

Epcot doesn't really have any huge draw for families (hard as Disney tries) and I could see kids asking their parents to skip the learning and go see Harry Potter.

Nah, Parents like Epcot... More than likely DHS would be the one that takes the biggest hit from Harry Potter...

Our last trip... the kids insisted we kept returning to DHS. We only went to EPCOT for future world, and only went into WS once for dinner. We went to DHS THREE TIMES in a single trip.

DHS gets a bad rap in the 'disney internet expert circle' but in reality it has great attractions that many people like.

As a PASSHOLDER? As a Park?

1.

Studios has everything I want to see in a day. Thrill Rides, Dark Rides I love, two rides I always have to ride (Star Tours + Muppets) and Several shows I enjoy watching, plus great scenery and plenty of things to hold my interest and take pictures of. Plus Studios Cast Members are the best Cast Members in the Disney World!

2.

Epcot is the best way to spend any evening. Pleasant walk around the countries on a cool evening, maybe a ride or two on Spaceship Earth or Mission Space. A concert perhaps, and some shopping at Japan. That's what I call a perfect evening!

3.

Animal Kingdom is a nice afternoon. A ride on Everest, stop by and see the tigers. And it's close to off-property restaurants for dinner!

[COMBO NOTE: Combine with #2 for Ultra Evening Killer Combo!!]

4.

Magic Kingdom has rides I love, but without anything major to bring me in, it's just not worth the hassle to get in and the fighting of crowds to warrant TONS of repeat visits.

So really I think this argument is moot...the only park I think needs cosmetic and attraction help is kingdom, only you guys bad talk about the two great other parks.
 :p

Somebody on here once said MI will be Disney's response to HP. While FL seems to be out of necessity. The combination of the two however could really deliver. DHS keeps moving forward while Epcot's future seems the most uncertain for now. I agree with goofy in that it is the least in need of help. New films could go along way in Epcot. Very interesting times!

I'm pulling a huge case of Disney Ignorance here, but DHS has Dark Rides?:lookaroun

What are you referring to? TSMM?

Midway Mania, Great Movie Ride, and Tower of Terror. (Honestly if you use the term as it's meant to be applied, Coaster and Tower are both Dark Rides AND Thrill Rides. Studios gets a bad Dark Ride rep because people consider them Thrill Rides first.)

Yep.
My family of two certainly will.:drevil:
(But I spend more time at Uni than Epcot anyhow....:lookaroun)
You and I need to have a very long chat.:lol:

I'll make it edutaining...I promise.:drevil:

I would think they would like it to be, to be honest. However, like I said, it seems to be much harder for them to build something brand new, and huge in time.

FL, on the other hand is easier, because it's already there, in a sense. It just needs revamping.

New films for EPCOT, though...:D Oh hai, LwtL....UoE...Even SSE. Perhaps, if they do that, and bring in JII, we might have something.

Good thought.
