"The New Fantasyland" Thread Summary

CoasterKing, more is not always better. The resources of Walt Disney World are spread thin enough as it is, we shouldn't desire another
park at the further expense of quality across the Vacation Kingdom. Animal Kingdom did it bad enough as it is.

The Fantasyland Station wouldn't be 'new' in this plan, it would just be the old Mickey's Toontown Fair station. (Just like the Fantasyland Station in Disneyland became Mickey's Toontown Station in 1994!) My proposal would be to rebuild the Fantasyland Station farther back along the route (counter-clockwise around the Magic Kingdom) to allow for more space between it and a Tomorrowland Station.

I was saying if one were to be put in the current Fantasyland.

Yeah, you're right. If quality has to suffer all around the Kingdom, then it would not be a good thing. But if done properly, then what a wonderful experience to add to the already great times at WDW!!

I remember when each new park opened after the Magic Kingdom. The excitement that was generated when each new park was announced. The anticipation of the first visit to each new park. :D

Don't see it happening anytime soon, but it can be a good thing if enough pixie dust is used. :animwink:

Shanghai?!?

We have a winner.

Now, this IS strictly rumor. I want to make that clear vs. other things I may post (like the dead Monsters coaster for Studios).

But it comes from the inside.

There's a strong thought that Disney needs to showcase something big and unexpected. And, frankly, this Fantasyland project may be big ... but it is the opposite of unexpected now.

Whether it would be the actual announcement of the resort or just perhaps some tease artwork or even say a showcase of the new Pirates attraction or castle for 'a future project', I can't say ... again, I'm treating as rumor. But rumor from a well-placed source and rumor that really makes a whole lot of sense when you think about.

While a redone MK F-Land is a big deal to the fanbois here, it isn't a drop in the bucket when compared with Disney's first resort in Mainland China. And D23 is supposed to be about all aspects of TWDC and its global reach. So, it is a natural.

Now, let's sit back and see what happens ... well, you can sit back, I'll go to Paris instead.

There's not enough pixie dust in the world to make another park at WDW anything but a disaster.

The good thing is that they do realize that from a business standpoint, so it won't happen.

It's not a coincidence that the bigger WDW has gotten, the more they've lost track of the little things, the more that quality has suffered.

How anyone could visit WDW and think 'yeah, what this place needs is another park' is truly beyond my comprehension.

Aha. Well...Seeing that, it makes a few other projects make a bit more sense.

Interesting.

Another park would just be overkill... 4 plus all the extra are plenty as it is. I have a hard time rationing my trip as it is! I wouldn't mind spending a little more time on some extra rides in each park tho!
