The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History'

Me too but my four year old would disagree. So too would I imagine, the ever increasing international tourists who don't really care for what they may interpret as blatant displays of American exceptionalism in their fantasy theme park experience. Not saying I agree with this sentiment but I can see why Disney would choose to make this area a little less serious and romanticized than it has appeared in the past. I don't have to like it to understand the logic.

It's no excuse for why they were removed from America in World Showcase, though. Still miffed over that.

It's tough. I don't want to start a 5th gate debate, but Disney needs to find a way to organize their parks. The Fab 5 are in every park and rightfully so. But all this cross-park stuff is getting ridiculous.

When I think of today's Muppets, Family Guy hit it on the head years ago...

I'll agree that Toy Story shouldn't be there or Monster's Inc. either. Stitch -yes. Buzz? No. It would be weird though to have Space Ranger Spin next to Midway Mania though.

How would you discuss this with a 10 year old? What logic would you use to explain why Buzz doesn't belong but Stitch does? How about Tomorrowland Speedway? Does it stay or go or do we just pretend that it's kind of out there floating by itself without a land since it's on the edge? (except that it has Tomorrowland in the name, of course).

I get the sentiment but I think there are far more people in the parks today for whom it doesn't matter than does.

All I can say is this news helps mollify the sting somewhat of learning that Sesame Street just fired Bob, Gordon, and Luis.

WHAT?!?!?!? Link please? Have not seen it on air or on Twitter from any of the news networks. Granted, the last two weeks were the conventions and next week, Rio starts so maybe it never go into the cycle?

I know Maria left when SS went to HBO. I believe it was her own decision, she wasn't fired. if that's wrong, please correct me.

Why would SS do that to those 3??? Is it because the lack of viewers for the new season since SS's new esp. are only on HBO and go months later to PBS? SS is still on PBS every weekday, just old seasons, so PBS should be able to keep some viewers.

No, they don't need a 5th gate for this kind of stuff. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Muppets doing something at The MK. DHS isn't a freakin' prison. You guys make up your own bizarre laws of Theme Park Demogogery. And then get your panties in a bunch when Disney breaks them.

Problem is (Depending on an Expansion of Muppet Plaza) There's only 2 places they could do something with upper levels with Muppets within that area....

The Upper Level of Mama Melorose's But, this area is fairly tight to have some kind of show...

Or...The Former M&G Area of Phineas & Ferb and retheme the Apartment building to The Happiness Hotel..

They never explicitly talked about those things. Sure, they were heavily implied, but then that's something the Muppets have done for a long time.
That TV show was awful. I'm a Muppets fan, but whoever wrote/directed/produced that POS should be embarrassed. Trying to recreate Modern Family humor with the Muppets was dumb. I like this addition to the park - if it goes well, I can see other "performances" popping up. It helps with those unplanned moments that will be remembered.

It's an affront to Liberty Square and a sad attempt to put the puppets somewhere, anywhere, to make use of them somehow, now that their movie and TV prospects are dead. Yeesh.
Okay seriously? I am a huge history buff, lived in the PA area most of my teenage life. I loved visiting Philadelphia and Independence hall.

IN all cases this is not an affront. This is another way to look at what can be taught, in a different matter. Good God for all that has happened recently, a little fun and tongue in cheek humor is a great idea for.....a theme park!

Now, if this was Muppets go crazy...yeah I get it. But this is them taking a turn at discussing history, in a historical area. Maybe, just maybe you should take a moment to see things for what they are.

IMO, this is just to keep the Muppets relevant while HS undergoes its crowd depleting reno's. With the number of eyes (impressions) the Muppets will get at MK that will go along way for it's overall (brand) health when HS is back and the Muppets have a big role there. At that point, they will "take the successful MK show" to a new HS Theater show. In the meantime, I'm going to enjoy a break from FP+ and upcharged entertainment and hope to get a good laugh or two while enjoying a waffle sandwich or grabbing a Dole Whip before the next show. USA!

Just so I'm processing this right, we have a valid claim that Epcot has dumped (or continues to remove) educational type of pavilions and shows, but we're bringing in a show to essentially teach children via the Muppets at the Magic Kingdom, but that's a bad thing. Hmmmm... That seems like a real winner to me.

It reminds me of before having kids that I would see a lot of the interactive type of kiosks and stuff at museums for kids and think that they were a waste and that kids really didn't use them or it would get them engaged in the subject at hand. After having kids, I learned that I was dead wrong. So many museums and places where kids have special areas, interactive things, places to build things, have all ultimately gotten my kids really into whatever the topic is.

You're talking about bringing people into an essentially dead area of the park and having entertainment that teaches kids. That's pretty cool if you ask me.
