And hey, you’re Patriots are playing in the SB today, must be heaven in earth.

Thanks.
I am not much of a sports fan, but it IS cool to have the ‘home team’ be the center of attention today.

The REAL game day action however will be ‘The Puppy Bowl’!

The past two days we visited DLR for the first time in 10 years. (We’re big WDW people/AP.)

Thought I’d share a few tidbits from the trip. I realize none of these thoughts are novel.

  • Security and entrance at DLR remains awful compared to WDW.
  • Why are the bathrooms so tiny compared to WDW? Every single bathroom had a line!
  • The Pixar Pier retheme felt entirely unnecessary and very Six Flags esque. Really wish they had leaned in more to the Victorian theming of 2.0. Splitting Paradise Pier into two lands adds to the mess. If they were dead set on Pixar Pier, they should’ve kept it going all the way around the bay.
  • San Fransokyo wasn’t crazy offensive to me, even though I dislike BH6. I would’ve still put that money into plussing up or rethemeing PGP though.
  • Despite having just come out of refurb, Incredicoaster was really struggling. It was down at least a third (if not half) of the day on Saturday, and when it was open, it was only running one side of the load platform. The ride is a lot rougher than I remember, and the audio was hard to hear.
  • Mission Breakout was the one retheme WDI has really knocked out of the park. I could see bits of Joe Rhode in it. It was a highlight of our trip. Unfortunately, the right shaft was closed all weekend, but maybe that was for planned maintenance?
  • Soarin’ Over California remains the superior version.
  • Web Slingers was a pleasant surprise for our group as was Avenger’s Campus as whole. If the land hadn’t opened in phases, I’m sure it would be received much better.
  • While it’s no Splash, the pacing for TBA works a lot better at DLP than MK. Ironically, that’s what made MK’s Splash the better version. Now it’s reversed.
  • If I was in charge of future projects for the resort, I’d focus on getting a thrill E (not a simulator) into DLP (probably as part of redoing TL). A coaster not being included in Galaxy’s Edge was a big miss. I would’ve added a ride of that nature before I added MMRR. The park didn’t really need another dark ride.
  • I think DCA’s additions will complement the park well. The park really needs more capacity. I would have placed Avatar in the Simba lot and added the Monsters Inc. Door Coaster to create a new Monstropolis land. Losing the Monsters Inc. dark ride will certainly hurt the park (though I think the upcoming attractions will be a net positive).
