It would have to be a special account made specifically for hotels that doesn't keep a history or a "Continue Watching" bar or anything like that. Also would need to be an account that is always logged in and you can't access account settings or log out from.
I could be wrong or misremembering, but I vaguely remember there being a trial run of D+ being offered in one of the Resorts at WDW. This would have been shortly after launch but before the pandemic shutdowns when they were offering trail accounts, but can't find any info on it at this point.

Well, yeah, but why isn't it complementary with the hotel? It costs Disney nothing to include it as part of the guests' stay.
And why isn't Peacock offered for free at Uni partnered hotels that cost a boatload too, its because its not something they want to offer.
Well as it was mentioned it would require a different type of account one that requires development and not currently available, an expense not likely worth it to Disney.
This is probably as good as it’s gonna get. I just hope they make more of those with more variety. As of now I can’t honestly imagine why I would use them at home.
That and Universal doesn’t own their hotels fully, Lowe’s owns part of them making such an arrangement much harder.
I’m sure one of the nations largest cable providers can arrange with their partner for theme park hotels to offer their streaming platform if they wanted to.

Yeah, it's possible they thought about this and even tried it but some higher up with dollar signs in their eyes didn't like it because they wanted people to sign up and pay for it.
That was going to be my next question. Since I've never stayed at one of the on-site hotels I was wondering if they already provided smart tvs or 3rd-party boxes/dongles hooked up to even be able to watch streaming apps.
I've stayed at quite a few hotels in the area and most actually didn't offer smart tvs....granted I mostly stay in cheaper options so maybe higher end hotels do. I typically bring my Roku or Chromecast just in case and hope the HDMI ports are available and easy to get to.
Again, depends on if they have a public-friendly version of the app available. If they don't, then yes, there would be a cost to it for Disney to develop that, but if they already do, then as I said above they might just not want to leave any money on the table.
This one truly has me baffled. I really thought with all of the other projects they've been doing to prepare for the 70th this one would have been added to that list.
I've now stayed at most of the hotels directly across the street from DLR on Harbor, and most of them now have SmartTVs in them that have streaming apps. This isn't ALL but yes the cheaper the hotel and the farther away you stay from the resort the less likely you'll be to get a SmartTV, ie you'll get less frills. I've even found that in those cheaper hotels the HDMI ports aren't even accessible on the TV, if they even exist at all.
