I’ll be at Disneyland this Sunday. I’ve never been on the parks anniversary before. Do they do anything for random numbers like 67?

It’s crazy that Disneyland is only 27 years older than me. As a kid it felt like it had always existed. Hope I make it to the 100th. I’d only be 73 so I have a good shot 🙏. Kind of got sad for a second picturing myself there and then thought of other family members not being there as it would be mathematically improbable.

I was there on the day of the 63rd anniversary.

There were a few modest photo opportunities (I remember my friend and I taking a picture in a frame that mentioned the day we were there at the Plaza Inn), but mostly there was a small processional that happened a few times on anniversary day. There were 63 characters for 63 years, including some I'd never seen before and I'm sure I'll never see again, and a few VIPs (park ambassadors and a few manager types) on the Omnibus. They had a park ambassador say a few remarks, they played Walt's opening speech over the speakers, everyone sang happy birthday. Then music began playing, the characters danced and interacted with the crowd, and the procession moved on to the next spot. They stopped a few times along the parade route as they did this.

It was fairly modest, but I actually thought it was about the perfect level of acknowledgement. They did a nice job with it.

Here's a video of the procession, at least from that particular year:

Oh that’s more than I expected! Just hearing Walt’s opening day speech while standing in Town Square is enough for me. I wonder if they ll have a schedule or if it will all happen at random.

I believe it was on the entertainment schedule for that particular day.

With the disclaimer @mickEblu that who knows what they'll be doing right now after the last couple of years. Perhaps they have scaled it back a bit.

They'd make such a killing too; it would be like when the Conestoga Wagon sold McDonald's fries in the parks.

I miss this era so much, I was pretty young at the time so of course I loved (and still do) McDonalds fries and I remember waiting in line for BTMRR while eating McDonalds fries and having the best time of my life.
I wish I could answer this as I have not had one at the Corn Dog Castle but the ones on Main Street are da bomb. I get one every time as they are usually fairly fresh due to the constant line of people. These corndogs are pretty big and better than most. You not liking hot dogs or the cornmeal they are fried in might detract from the meal.

I got the Corn Dog Castle corn dog and cheese dog either my last trip or the trip before and the corn dog was pretty good, not as good as the Little Red Wagon but still a really tasty corn dog, nonetheless. The cheese dog was not my thing and my friends agreed, I think I remember mine not being fully melted and there was like a solid cheese core which might've made it a bit less tasty than if it was melted and warm all the way through.

For some reason I haven't minded sponsors over the years, Sunkist, Dole, Carnation, but a plain ole bus bench ad just seems intrusive.
There was some mild uproar when we started seeing Adventures by Disney posters around Frontierland and Adventureland, but I vastly prefer those to whatever nonsense this bench ad is. Those at least could be rationalized to fit the area (and the posters did do a good job of blending into the surroundings); this makes no sense in Cars Land. Why would cars even need Enterprise?
