This sign is terrible. Looks cheap and dated.

Isn't that just the same sign that used to be at the entrance to DTD from the parks, but gussied up a bit?

I think it's fine, or at the very least modern Disney could do a lot worse. They even managed to spell Downtown Disney correctly!

Tangentially related, but just a week ago it was my semi-annual moment to mentally kick myself for not buying a sweatshirt with the original Disneyland Resort logo. I had no interest in owning one when they were available, but it's funny what nostalgia can do.

Then no change except the removal of the 60th lettering.
The first one is from the Year of a Million Dreams (you can vaguely see the lettering spelling it out on the sign).

Maybe I'm just desperate for a change, but that one is honestly the ONLY completed sign from this post I DON'T like more than the one we've been stuck with since the 60th.

Agreed. Those things would be worth a mint today.

I remember around 2009 (I think?) when Jay Rasulo tried to roll out the "Disney Parks" brand, and The Emporium was actually selling t-shirts and sweatshirts with that phrasing on it. "Disney Parks".

I looked at a blue sweatshirt that said "Disney Parks" and almost bought it as a joke, and now I wish I would have. :banghead:

Why are the security check points still under temporary tents? It's been 23 years. Are they thinking the checkpoints aren't needed anymore? Isn't it time for a permanent security checkpoint? Both Universal and Knott's have integrated it into their front gate plaza. Why does Disneyland look like a temporary concert structure?

DL security is terrible. I've been to WDW, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, and Hersheypark, and they all have permanent structures and Evo scanners. It goes so much more smoothly.
