Interesting perspective.

I don't know what she expected from the media tour; Disney invites creators to publicize whatever shiny new thing they have and she's upset she's not getting paid to do so? Comparing a little tour of a silly lounge to being thrown mud in your face?

That's one way to be blacklisted. Good luck with that, I guess. (Anyway, it appears that she's privated or deleted the video as when you click through to the website it's no longer available.)

I want 10 minutes of my life back. The lady basically expected a media event to be a free trip to Disneyland and brought her kids along with her.

It definitely came across odd. I mean I do think there were a couple good points in there about expectations of work, schedule, etc.

But once she got into complaining about the food they were given… she lost me.

Tokyo Disneyland has officially turned 40 years old today! Happy 40th Anniversary Tokyo Disney Resort.

Going to celebrate the park's 40th birthday by lessening to "Club Mouse Beat". Tokyo Disneyland's seasonal live show held during the Summer seasons. Seriously, the entire score for that show slaps!

Both Iger and D’Amaro visited Tokyo Disneyland recently for the park's 40th Anniversary.

They also gave speeches during a special event for Tokyo Disneyland's 40th Anniversary and the only ones in English.

Funny how they suddenly wear suits in Tokyo, but show up in American parks in jeans and sneakers. Shows you the level of respect they have for their various products, doesn't it?

If either one has eyesight that works beyond a 10 foot range, I bet they wandered around thinking "This place is 40 years old??? Why does it all look brand new? Why are all the CM's so clean-cut and well-groomed? Why is everyone smiling and waving? How do they keep it so clean?!?"

Idiots.

Seriously- If I was Josh D'Amaro I'd be embarassed to walk through Tokyo with Bob Iger- who should be on him about the abysmal state of Disneyland Anaheim when compared to the Tokyo resort.

I think it simply shows that they tailor their outfits according to the culture, audience, vibe, atmosphere, or what have you. Their more casual choices of clothing for the American parks is neither weird, nor disrespectful. I’d say it’s perfectly normal.

Speaking of Tokyo Disneyland, can I talk about how much I seriously loved their former Easter daytime parade Hippity Hoppity Springtime. It features famous Disney Bunnies (Brer Rabbit, White Rabbit, Rabbit, Thumper and Miss Bunny) celebrating the arrival of Spring and participating in various Easter activities.

My favorite float of the parade is seeing The White Rabbit training Max and Goofy for the Egg relay race.

There's also Disney's Easter Wonderland which lasted from 2010 till 2012 where the entire parade was full of energy and excitement. The showstopper sections of the parade is the highlight. Everybody including the Cast Members are having so much fun from start to finish!

Also a very late Easter post in this thread. But Tokyo is currently the only Disney Park that has legit Easter Parade that aren't cavalcade and pre-parades.

Heck, a week ago both Iger and Josh visited Disneyland Paris near the end of their 30th Anniversary Celebration. There was either a photo or video somewhere on Twitter showing one of them watching the "Dreams... and Shine Brigter" parade/street-show as part of the parks 30th Anniversary offerings and appeared to be really enjoying it.

Also Paris updated their D-Light Drone Show as part of their anniversaries "Grand Finale"

Despite Covid causing Paris to scale back on their Anniversary offerings. They sure did manage to find a better alternative in a small scale compared to WDW's 50th. And this is coming from a longtime fan of Walt Disney World.

I'm picturing both Iger and Josh observing Disneyland Paris' 30th Anniversary and Tokyo Disneyland's 40th Anniversary offerings while comparing to the pathetic execution of Walt Disney World's 50th Anniversary Celebration like this scene from The Simpsons.

They probably walked in, did some photo ops and meetings and left within the same afternoon. I doubt they stayed there all day or care about experiencing the parks how the guests actually do.

I actually found a short video of both Josh and Iger watching the "Dreams... and Shine Brighter!" show.

Both Iger and Josh either looked like they don't know how to have fun (since the entire show is very energetic and upbeat) or bitter over the execution for Walt Disney World's 50th Anniversary offerings being very lukewarm.

Cast members at Disneyland Paris were very enthusiastic and excited during the entire 30th Anniversary Celebration. They actually had three one-night only shows on it's actually anniversary night!

They even brought back the "C'est Magique!" show from the park's first year for a one-night only performance during its anniversary day.

Or, put another way... Tokyo demands more from us and has higher standards, so we do more to show respect for them. 🤔

I wouldn't find the casual attire odd if they were there on their own time, or with family on a day off.

But when they are in the parks in an official capacity as the leaders of the Multi-Billion dollar investments they've recently made for their CM's, their shareholders, and their local communities, I think the jeans-n-sneakers look is too casual. Again, because they are representing Billions of dollars of investment and thousands of hard working employees who report to them.

The tone they took in the Tokyo parks last week seems far more appropriate as business leaders in charge of huge facilities like that.

So yeah, different cultures expect different things. News at 11.

As usual, the grass is always greener.

I would absolutely love to be able to go to work in Japan in jeans and sneakers (like I used to do in the U.S.) instead of the full suit which I often have to wear because of the workplace culture. There's an old saying that Japanese are fine with unnecessary suffering as long as it's group suffering where everyone has to suffer equally.
