@Rich T if you need a reason to make this the year you make it out to Silver Dollar City in MO, they just announced this morning that it's the last season for their 50 year old "indoor roller coaster"/dark ride/water ride, Fire in the Hole. The vintage attraction was built in house and is loosely based on local history, and the burning down of the town, Marmaros, that once stood where the park is today.

There is a new attraction under construction at the park that is rumored to be an updated version, but it certainly won't have the vintage dark ride charm of this park classic. They just don't make rides like this anymore.

At least they decided to let people know a year in advance and they put together a nice updated page on their website, I suppose. Their season runs from Mid-March through December.

It’s been going backward since the TOT retheme in 2017. Some things are just more personal to certain people. So now I’m just in “don’t mess up Disneyland mode.” Oh Avatar doesn’t make sense in DCA? That’s fine just don’t decimate the entire eastern part of DL for it. Plus there are already plenty of things that don’t make sense at DCA. So now I’m perfectly content settling for an aesthetically pleasing DCA with a strong roster of attractions. It’s accomplished the former for the most part excluding Mission Breakout/ the backlot but it still could use a few more solid attractions.
I don't disagree. The change to the Tower destroyed sight lines across the park. :(

Main Stret U.S.A = Main Street U.S.A.

It's missing a vowel, and a period for the U.S.A. acronym.

I'm now convinced that whoever is in charge of signage at the Disneyland Resort is not only a high school dropout, but they aren't allowed to use the computer with that spellcheck thing. World Class Guest Service!

I'm just missing this.... is no one checking anything around there?

First time- "Hey, be sure to double check those signs before sending to print, thanks"
Second time- "Hey, make sure to spell check your work, another error got through"
Third time- "Hey, be sure to send me all sign text before sending to print, I need to give them a once over before they go out"
Fourth time- ???

I mean, if the company can't have quality control on the most mundane of things... they do not care about their work at any level.

So, the sign up for the 2024 DL half marathon was this morning. As always with anything Disney IT related, it was an absolute crapfest and everything sold out within ~1 hr 10 mins. A lot of people upset not getting in even though signing in the moment they could, as well as several people being charged 3, 4, and even 5 times $600 on their cards (pending) due to site error just to be told they did not get into a race. Saw some posts on Reddit with people who were using their debit cards frantically calling Disney/their cardholders as they were royally screwed.

Agreed. It's like the canary in the coalmine.

If this organization can no longer handle asking employees to use spellcheck on park signs, much less employ people who have at least a 9th grade level of spelling and grammar, then it's very scary to think about what else they're messing up.

The only thing I can think is that they laid off or haven’t been able to hire back any actual copy writers for in-park signage… and have assigned that job to someone who has no business doing such things?

It makes no sense why this is suddenly an issue.

But so far the examples have been obvious misspellings, with a few grammar errors thrown in. The misspellings would have been caught by a simple 1 second spellcheck. They obviously didn't even attempt to spellcheck their work. That's the concern.

There is no such word as "stret" in the English language. It would have been caught by spellcheck.
