Yeah she’s the only one I missed that I would have liked to see ideally. Is she good? I’m sure nothing tops Ernesto.
From what I heard, Madam Mim has been gaining some very decent reception with guests. While she's been overshadowed by Ernesto De La Cruz (which was a very pleasant surprise) due to how perfectly executed he looked as a face character compared to Jack Skellington and was never hinted until previews from a while ago. The YouTube videos of her gave be the stupidest grin on my face. Hope we might she her finally interacting with Merlin or Arthur in the future.

Yeah, I'm not sure how having Universe in the title twice got out the door.
In the real world almost nobody is going to refer to the park as Universal’s Epic Universe. I like the (two-word version) name; it’s sharp, it gets attention and raises curiosity. Whichever committee approved the name probably decided the fun sound was worth having it sound slightly silly if attached to the company name.

I saw this blind item on reddit and had to wander over and share it here.

The screenshots are a wall of text, but the second and third clearly refer to Disney and their work with Michael Jackson. Has anyone seen this moonwalking animatronic in action? I'm amused that they refer to them as dolls. Any gossip about the ride they are referring to? I find it hard to believe Disney would auction these items and not just quietly save them in their archives.

There was the Plectus Intergalactic Revue show planned for Tommorowland 2055 Carousel of Progress building that was to feature a moonwalking animatronic alien voiced by Michael Jackson.

Thanks, I hadn't heard about that. I found an old thread about it

I took this photo of the art for Plectu in 1990. It has since gone all over the world. (And was actually the beginning of my blog.) It was on a billboard in Tomorrowland in front of the unused carousel theater.

My miscellaneous thought is:
WE HAD HARDLY ANY TRICK OR TREATERS TONIGHT!
I have too much extra candy.
The weather was in the mid 60s and dry.
Great weather.
Where are the kids?

I've come back to the tread to admit that after I posted my thoughts above, I went outside to take the garbage can to the street. It was gently raining. Who knows how long that had been going on. I just was unaware of it since the rain wasn't hard enough to be heard inside.

I moved into a 378-unit apartment complex with indoor hallways a few months ago and thought that would be ripe for trick-or-treaters since it is indoors and safe. Didn't get a single person.

My parents live in a house in a neighborhood where 10 years ago got 20-30 kids, and every year it has dwindled down until this year they got zero. It was a little chilly, but no rain.

Not sure why there is such a downturn on trick-or-treaters....at least in my area. Perhaps the demographics have changed to more people that don't celebrate the holiday, paired with parents taking their kids to church harvest festivals and trunk-or-treats where they feel safer. Not sure. All I know is.....more candy for me!

I am an elementary school band director.
During the day many students dressed up.
At "Lunch Duty" I had numerous students tell me they would be out trick or treating.
Maybe I would have received many Trick or Treaters between 8pm and 9pm but the rain that began at 8pm chased them indoors? 🤔

In addition to people not feeling as safe and trusting people/ strangers candy less, there wasn’t a two month buildup to Halloween in the past. By the time Halloween evening arrived this year we already did Oogie Boogie, my sisters Halloween party and saw my son walk in his Halloween parade at school. So we were burnt out on Halloween and have bags of candy.

Traditional trick or treating going away isn’t something I’d really lament for my kids. I still have nightmares of the neighbor who used to give us raisins in a used toilet paper roll wrapped with tissue and rubber bands on the ends.
