Regardless of either of them being added (I still maintain that we will get jack, followed by diddly & squat), I really am getting tired of the "shout at me" rides. The DL coasters are all great coasters because they are atmospheric in their storytelling. Not all rides need to LITERALLY tell (shout) a story.

Agree. Stop telling me I need to help you save the day. It’s so tired.

Right this way, recruits! :D
We need your help, recruits! 😉
Pull on the yellow tab, recruits! 😒
Recruit some more recruits, recruits! 😑
Great job, you did it, recruits! 🤫

Just watched the Avengers Assemble POV.

Hmmm. I was ready to declare it a solid plus-up after seeing the changes to the queue, but the coaster itself is awfully devoid of theming. It's mostly just darkness. I haven't been to that park, but it seems like kind of a lateral move overall (though of course Marvel is more relevant than a band whose most recent hit was 20 years ago, so it deserves credit for that).

Definitely wouldn't want it at DCA. Then again, I wouldn't want Cosmic Rewind either.

Agree. Stop telling me I need to help you save the day. It’s so tired. With that said, Cosmic Rewind looks pretty atmospheric if I remember the ride through correctly. Have only seen it a couple times. Just the fact that it’s able to come through on screen at all must mean it looks 100x better in person.

Anyway, I think most of us can agree that either of these coasters would be preferable to another screen ride. I enjoy Soarin and I’m pretty sure I’ll enjoy FOP but I think what makes both of those rides special is the scenery. For a story focused on action like An Avengers ride would be, I don’t think a screen based attraction is the right move.

Also I’m not so sure something isn’t coming to AC. If they re willing to build another ride in Fantasyland I have to imagine they’re willing to give AC the (new) E ticket anchor it needs.
My guess is Disney considers the macaroni tower enough of an anchor, and little to nothing will happen with AC until the Marvel movies’ box office numbers stop reflecting a declining interest In the MCU. I think the driver of the Budget Bus to Marveltown has his foot lightly tapping the brake pedal just now…

After all the shiny polish and futuristic technobabble in the queue, it’s kinda hilarious when guests are hyped to board their Avengers vehicle… and up rattles the same old clunky R&R train complete with shoulder restraints.

What's sad is how this is literally the 'story' for every major new attraction at Disneyland.

Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout- Rocket recruits you to help save the Guardians of the Galaxy
Millenium Falcon- Hondo recruits you to steal Coaxium? (I think that's what it's called)
Rise of the Resistance- you're recruited to be part of the Resistance
Spider Man- you're recruited to help save the world from Spider Bots

And yet, the two most 'immersive' attractions ever are still Pirates and Mansion- both of which the rider has a much more passive role in the story (Mansion has the 'tour' angle, but that's far less egregious than the Ghost Host recruiting you to help save Madame Leota from the hitch hiking ghosts)

I wouldn’t be surprised if the next step is to bring that storyline to shopping experiences:

Mickey: “Hi, folks! I really need your help! Those evil stepsisters are at it again, and they tore Cinderella’s party dress to shreds! If everyone in this store spends just twenty more dollars in the next five minutes, Disney can afford a shiny new dress for Cindy! Please help us! Gosh, I hate to see Cinderella cry! Aw, c’mon! Hey—You did it! You’re all heroes! Gee, you’re swell! We’ll email you a photo! See ya!”

“Oh, and always remember: Magic dreams enchant wishes!”

Honestly, I'm less bothered by it than the societal climate that inspired it where every smart device and social network is being tailored to convince consumers that they are the center of the universe.
