I’m fine with it. There are bigger concerns in life than being slightly inconvenienced by a mother and child trying to reunite with the rest of their family.

Yeah I mean if it’s a party of 8 it might be bother me but I still probably wouldn’t say anything unless it was happening often. Disneyland is expensive, it’s crowded and people are trying to maximize their day. The park is difficult to navigate for the average (non AP) family. I would advise nobody try to stop a mother and child from getting back to her family as a confrontation is highly likely. Lol

Why do people get to leave the line and rejoin it again? If they leave the line, they should start at the end or wait until the rest of their party is getting off the ride. How do we know they are rejoining or just line jumping?

I know when I had a stinky two year old, I had to leave the line to change him. I didn't expect my place back in line with my family again.
We don’t know, we just trust that people are being honest, and most people are. You could prove that you belong with people up ahead in line by:

1) starting a giant game of telephone. Have everyone tell the group behind them that Phoobar will be rejoining the line after changing his kid’s diaper. Word will travel faster than you will.

2) performing a pre-planned chant with the members of your family still in line. Something as simple as “ooga ooga” will do the trick. Once you reunite, do a pre-planned dance to prove your relationship.

Hey, anybody want to know what a Zootopia dark ride would be like? Thanks to that Craiyon/DALL-E site, we know!

Incredibly creepy...
Well, if it looked like *that* it would be creepy! :D (I’m not slamming the artist, who did a great job of capturing the feeling of a classic FL dark ride—Love it!

Ideally, a Zootopia ride should be alive with the bustling atmosphere and motion of big city crowds. Tons of kinetic energy. Ever since the film was released, I’ve been bray— I mean *saying* that there’s a certain dark ride in Toontown already featuring car-shaped vehicles that could be a perfect and easy retheme into a catch-the-crook chase through downtown Zootopia. I’d still love to see that happen. :D

It's not a charismatic position, but I'll admit I'm pretty opposed to line-cutting. A couple people asking to cut in front of you/your party for some specified reason? Whatever, not a huge deal. Even if they're lying, it just doesn't matter that much. An absolutely endless crew of adults elbowing you as they squeeze by to "catch up with their friends" aka skipping the entire line to meet up with their one friend who "held their spots"? Deeply uncool. And I've seen it too many times to count.

The artist is an artificial intelligence program, those weren’t drawn by a human!

You've provided me with some exciting ideas for my next trip!

I call this maneuver "The Scout," and also despise it.

That said, I used to be vehemently against getting in and out of lines, but times have changed. We visitors are expected to wait much longer than we used to. Little human things like bathroom breaks and child issues are almost certainties with the amount of time and number of people filling queues these days. Sure, I still see disrespectful behavior, but now I'm a lot more tolerant of well meaning instances due to circumstances. After all, we now have a ride that has turned ten but its line still rivals opening year Indiana Jones.

I got into the early access beta test for Warner Brothers’ “Multiversus” game (available to all this Tuesday). It’s basically a Smash Bros.-style fighting game pitting Warner-owned IPs against each other, so you can pit Tom and Jerry against Arya from Game of Thrones or Batman against The Iron Giant. It plays smooth as silk and the quality of the animation, writing and attention to detail are mind-blowing. It’s a joy, even in this early stage.

And I’m mainly bringing this up here to again marvel at how Disney keeps leaving potential billions on the table by not using their vast library of characters to better effect in the gaming industry. It’s one field they just can’t get a good handle on. A well-done PC/console Smash clone like Multiversus using Disney characters could be huge.

YouTube is creepy sometimes. I've been watching nothing but Laugh-In episodes and old Julia Child shows (just did her Chicken Liver Pate' recipe yesterday), and yet I wander in off the patio this evening and hit the YouTube button on the giant TV and.... it recommends I watch a ride-thru of the recently refurbished Pirates of the Caribbean from some guy I don't know named Steve. 🧐

It was after 7pm already and I hadn't had a cocktail yet, so... I went to the fridge and then the bar cart and made a little Trader Joe's rum drink with a Dole Pineapple wedge (canned pinapple, don't hate me, at least it's Dole). And then I sat down and watched the full ride-thru of the refurbished Pirates ride. And hummed a few bars of Yo-Ho as I swirled the pineapple ring around the glass.

And... the ride is exactly the same. Seems brighter and more colorful with lighting, but everything else seems the same. Even seems like the old animatronics aren't as smooth and fluid as Tokyo Disneyland. But, except for a few inoperative cannon splashes, most effects seemed to work. Johnny Depp, fresh off his very messy win in divorce court, still resides throughout the ride.

I chuckled at the sight of a Dockers-clad manager working on the unload dock, because that's very piratey. Nothing immerses you in the story as much as Business Casual does!

I guess it's a good thing overall. I mean, you can't really trust them anymore to change stuff well or honorably. So it's probably best that all they did was swap out the remaining halogen bulbs for LED's and dust off the sets. Yay?

I haven't been on the ride since the refurbishment, but from the videos people have posted I'm disappointed that they haven't fixed whatever steam generator or likewise component that provides the smoke for the muskets and pistols. These hadn't worked on my first post pandemic visit, but neither did the canons and in the video they seem to be just fine. The explosion effects on Big Thunder seem to be back in order as well, so I don't know what happened here.

I usually start telling Marco and my family yells Pollo.

The last update made this site much less user friendly on mobile. It’s impossible to copy/ paste anything now and God forbid you accidentally quote someone or just change your mind about responding to a post. You can’t just delete the entire quote. You have to delete all the text of said quote.

So is it more likely we get a rethemed Cosmic Rewind or the Avengers Rethemed RnRc from Paris at DCA? I’m guessing the latter. I’m sure we’d all prefer “Cosmic Rewind.” The projections are much more atmospheric and convincing. The Paris coaster kind of comes across as an Iron Man themed version of Ghost Galaxy.

Not all of us. I totally agree with your assessment of the coaster, but the spinning cars of CR + screens would equal my need for a bucket. 🤮

Regardless of either of them being added (I still maintain that we will get jack, followed by diddly & squat), I really am getting tired of the "shout at me" rides. The DL coasters are all great coasters because they are atmospheric in their storytelling. Not all rides need to LITERALLY tell (shout) a story.

Agree. Stop telling me I need to help you save the day. It’s so tired. With that said, Cosmic Rewind looks pretty atmospheric if I remember the ride through correctly. Have only seen it a couple times. Just the fact that it’s able to come through on screen at all must mean it looks 100x better in person.

Anyway, I think most of us can agree that either of these coasters would be preferable to another screen ride. I enjoy Soarin and I’m pretty sure I’ll enjoy FOP but I think what makes both of those rides special is the scenery. For a story focused on action like An Avengers ride would be, I don’t think a screen based attraction is the right move.

Also I’m not so sure something isn’t coming to AC. If they re willing to build another ride in Fantasyland I have to imagine they’re willing to give AC the (new) E ticket anchor it needs.
