Standing outside in the sun for a long time just to get breakfast was one of the worst things about my visit to the DCA Campus.

Also standing outside in the sun waiting to get into WED Slingers after my Boarding Group was called.

I guess getting a sunburn counts as one of the "attractions" in the land.
I really wish that they hadn't demolished the shade that was present in Bugs Land. Leaving people out in the sun in ride and restaurant queues just screams cheap-out and feels Six Flags-esque.

Every time I walk through through that land to go from Cars Land to GOTG I turn to (insert family member) and say “I can’t believe how bad this land turned out.”

You didn't try for the trifecta and stand outside in the sun waiting for the Avengers stunt show to start?

So the first time I ever go to the park on its anniversary and they cut out the opening day speech? Is there something “problematic” about this too? I had no idea what time the Happy Birthday celebration was going to happen. I happened to walk into the park around 11:45 am right before the cavalcade and Happy Birthday singing began at 12pm. There I was right in the middle of Town Square right next to the flag pole eagerly waiting the opening day speech… and nothing. Just ended with the birthday song. Very disappointing but I just moved on assuming they don’t always do it.

Haha but seriously anyone who doesn’t acknowledge that there is high chance this decision ( In the current climate with all of the other changes they made around the park) was made for ideological reasons or that they re worried for whatever silly reason isn’t being sincere.
Is there a chance, sure. But "high" chance, nah....

I dunno the same reason they considered retheming Main Street to Mickey Ave? It’s baffling. They inclusion committee or whatever they re called need to chill. I mean, they removed “ladies and gentlemen” from MSEP. Is this really far fetched? Lol
But as we know that project was cancelled years ago at this point, so I wouldn't put much stock in the idea that they would cut the speech for "reasons" today. Me thinks you're letting your imagination run away with you on this one my friend.

Genuine curiosity, what was the last thing Disney added to the parks that was pro-America? Was it The Muppets Present... Great Moments in American History at Disney World? If so, that was introduced in 2016 and has been gone since before Covid hit.
This is going to be Disney World centric mainly as it's what I'm most familiar with, but since 2016 we've had:
  • Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' - July 12th, 2016
    • Celebrates the American South by embracing its southern hospitality and unique cuisine
  • Then President Donald Trump added to the Hall of Presidents - December 18th, 2017
    • Not only did they add Trump however an entirely new film was created for this reopening. It's a very well made documentary, and remained once Biden was added.
  • The American Adventure Montage Update- March 21st, 2018
    • While not a new addition it was still something pro-America I wanted to point out; plus we got an amazing new cover of Golden Dreams!
  • Creating Tradition: Innovation and Change in American Indian Art - July 28th, 2018
    • This new exhibit celebrates Native Americans and their culture.
  • Regal Eagle Smokehouse - February 19th, 2020
    • Celebrates the classic American cookout with recipes representing the American South's love and appreciation for BBQ
  • The Soul of Jazz: An American Adventure - February 1st, 2021
    • Jazz is a uniquely American music genre, and the exhibit is very well done with various props tying into American culture.
    • An additional exhibit was created to travel the USA, and is now being added to Disneyland's Downtown Disney.
  • President Joe Biden added to the Hall of Presidents - August 4th, 2021
  • Harmonious: American Gospel Section - October 1st, 2021
  • Harmonious: Heartbeat to Freedom- July 4th, 2022
    • Yes, it's an old show HOWEVER Harmonious is not an old show and past tags did not play with the show.
  • And a 50/50 chance for Tiana's Bayou Adventure given its setting
There's probably more smaller things I'm missing, and I didn't want to stretch whatever one can say celebrates America as.

Honestly I'm not sure how much more you would be expecting? It's not like Universal are adding things to the parks that are proAmerica. Actually none of the parks even have that's against America so that idea is moot. All that in mind why would Disney go out of their way to do more than they have, they only have so many areas that are American themed alongside only so many IPs that would be worth an investment like that.

@PiratesMansion dont go to Naples. Tried it for the first time last night and it was fine. Not good enough for the price though. I actually enjoyed the Margherita I had a couple weeks ago from Napolini more. The crust on the pizza last night was just a little doughy for me for a Neapolitan style pizza. Napolini was actually better and hotter and cheaper. Just Go there if you want pizza. Also they were slammed and service was pretty bad.

The Caesar salad however was one of the best Caesar salads I’ve had in a while. Id actually go back just for that.
Thanks for the heads up! Keep this in mind too if someone tries to talk you into Via Napoli for your WDW trip-it's basically the same joint (or if it's not the same, as someone will inevitably insist, it's definitely run by the exact same parent company and they make very similar looking and sounding pizza).
And the first to hop in line for Pan when the clock strikes 8AM, Mickey ears in hand.

Bonus points if they don't actually make it to Peter Pan first but whine to a cast member enough so that they get to be first on anyway, as happened to me in 2017 one morning. The nerve of some people!

That guest would’ve hated me because there’s no way I would have let them on. Like you said, the nerve of some. Wow.
Right? I’m sure some random cast member just decided they didn’t feel like pushing the “play speech” button.
Right! That’s likely the reason.👍🏾

I feel like being in Town Square and hearing the opening day speech would be one of those quintessential 'Disneyland' moments, especially for die hard fans of the place.

And they should 100% be doing it every year.

What's the birthday song? Please tell me it's not that awful 'get your ears on' track they've been using
