Hate to be cynical about everything modern Imagineering does, but I find that wall just so bewildering. They should strive to conceal it as much as possible.

It was so busy at the parks today. We bought Genie+ as soon as we walked in because we could not be bothered waiting in the standby lines, but even then the Lightning Lanes were backed up all day (the worst offender was Hyperspace with 110 standby, 20 LL). Didn't see Boba Fett or Fennec, unfortunately.

Head scratcher for sure. I don’t think that pic is current though. The climbing roses have gotten taller and are starting to spread. Still not sure why they didn’t go for something with more coverage like ivy or something

My son is very excited for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway and the Mario Kart ride coming to So Cal next year. Im wondering if MMRR will become an attraction on our rotation or if it will be a once in a while type of a thing.

Current attractions we hit at least every two to three trips:

Star Tours
Space Mountain
Tea Cups
Carousel
Casey Jr.
HM
ROTR
Goofys Sky School
Pal Around
DLRR
IASW
POTC
Mermaid
Zephyr
Splash
BTMRR

I was also very excited for the Mario Kart ride but uhhh it looks pretty terrible! I hope it’s better in person (and I hope your son enjoys it) because I couldn’t have been more disappointed.

Mario Kart looks God Awful! I’m not anticipating that I’ll enjoy it but the land should be a nice addition to the park and I’m interested in seeing some of the food and merch stuff - if it’s as cool as the stuff in Japan. My son is almost as excited for the food as he’s seen a few vlogs where they showcase Kinoppios Cafe.

I’m holding out hope that I’ll really enjoy MMRR but I have my doubts.

I still have hope for the Mario Kart ride; no video I've seen of Flight of Passage seems to do the ride any justice, for example, but I'm relying on the fact that everyone says it's amazing. I'd imagine the experience is much cooler in person with the AR, though I'm no sure how it will hold up as an experience once the novelty wears off.

I’d be optimistic too if I’ve heard anyone say the Mario Kart ride is amazing, all I’ve really heard (granted I haven’t heard much) is stuff like “it’s not as bad in person” which isn’t the greatest reaction by any means. I like your optimism though.

I haven’t watched videos of FOP as I don’t want to spoil it but also realize there is no way a video will do it justice. The thing about Mario Kart is that it’s supposed to be a racing ride and it’s going the speed of Pinocchios Daring Journey. I’m sure the gameplay will be fun and visuals may be cool but overall just can’t see how it won’t be underwhelming because of the disconnect between the content and the slow speed we’re going.

As the only person on this forum (that I know of) who has ridden MK in-person, I think it's disappointing relative to expectations. It's zany and chaotic and I'm sure a lot of people will love that, but it's not what I was expecting when I imagined a Mario Kart ride.

The Toad Cafe restaurant is maybe the sleeper hit of the land. It's actually really good and creative.

That's a shame to hear. I'll temper my expectations.

I'm very excited for the restaurant; the cafe in Japan looks so fun with all the windows into the kitchens, and the food looks even better (though I admittedly expect the menu to change stateside, which is disappointing).

I was there on Saturday (and Sunday) as well. It definitely was crowded. Having Pirates and Toontown closed didn't help. Genie+ was a life saver for me. Without it I don't think I would have ridden more than a half a dozen attractions. Of course if it didn't exist the standby lines wouldn't take so long, but I digress.

From 8-10am it was pretty light. I started booking Lightning Lanes early on potentially busy attractions and ended up stacking a few and redeeming like 3 or 4 in a row. I rode Rise twice and didn't have to pay for ILL. The first had a posted time of 95 min and only took 55. The second was posted 60 min and took 40. Don't give in to them inflating the times to coerce you to pay!

Oh, and Millennium Falcon single rider was walk-on pretty much any time of the day. Of course you can only be an engineer, but what's crazy is that I met two people that were continually riding it over and over. One dude said it was his 5th in a row. I like the ride, but not that much.

Sunday was worse than Saturday, but since I rode most of the rides at DL on Saturday I spent the morning at DCA and went back to DL at 2:30pm to wrap up the attractions I had missed. Even saw Lincoln for the first time since I was a kid and caught the flag retreat ceremony after exiting.

I gave in and paid the $18 for Web Slingers because I hadn't ridden it yet and the line was 80 minutes long. Since I only go to the DLR occasionally I figured I'd try it once. It was fun, but not $18 or 80 minute wait fun.

I saw a blurb about a new "California resident discount" for day tickets. I checked it out and Wow. $360 for 3 day park hoppers. That's the DISCOUNT price. Regular price is $390. Again this is for admission only: would have to add Genie+ and perhaps extra tickets for Rise or RSR. And, the park is back to peak crowds. And, don't get me started (again) on mobile order...

I think I'm not seeing the same value that was there before. When I think about plunking down almost $1200 for my family of 3 to be packed in shoulder to shoulder, I just can't do it. There is a LOT to love about DL, but there is a limit to what I'm willing to pay for the current experience they are offering. The loss of a FastPass system that worked and the elimination of an "off" season are just deal breakers for me. (At this price point, at least.)

the only reason why they added a discount is because of the halting of magic key sales, too.. it's very slimy
