It would make a very good edition. It would be the Space Mountain for DCA. It would fit the Avengers Campus very well. However, I still want that flying jetpack Sorin' ride.

An indoor coaster would be great for DCA. With that said, ideally it wouldn’t be so reminiscent of a coaster right across the way but regardless it’s needed and would be a huge hit. Obviously it wouldn’t be themed to the Guardians with Mission BO next door. The jet pack Soarin ride sounds more ambitious but would it really be more fun? Probably not

Rise is basically the Star Wars version of Transformers at Universal, only with more physical sets. The end is essentially Star Tours.

Is it fun? Sure. Impressive? Not at all, personally.

I was originally underwhelmed by ROTR but it has been growing on me.

Transformers and ROTR are completely different to me. Marni scared me with that one when he was making that comparison before it opened. I’ve been on both rides a few times this year. Every single scene on Transformers is screen focused where you get thrown around in front of screen after screen in a disorientating fashion. ROTR is more of a slow romp though primarily physical sets (some with very large props) that mostly feature screens but they re usually complimenting the set or integrated nicely. The only scene that is 100% screen is escape pod finale that I wish was just a tad longer as it’s better than both Falcon and Star Tours.

That’s without even getting into the obvious differences with the queues.

Right, that’s why I mentioned the biggest key difference being the physical sets in Rise. I was strictly speaking about the actual ride experience, but yes, the queue is a lot of fun and is honestly more impressive than the ride. It still feels too close to Transformers for me to truly call it unique and impressive (for me to be impressed, the majority of the ride should be unlike something else I’ve experienced). Combine it with the Star Tours segment at the end and…well, I’m just not impressed. But I’m genuinely glad that you’ve been able to enjoy it more over time. The good thing is there will be one less person in line for Rise (not that I’m planning to return to the parks anytime soon). 😉

Oh I never wait in that line hahah but thank you.

Yeah I don’t think the ride experience is very similar at all other than it being a trackless vehicle but I guess we can agree to disagree.

Isn’t it kinda nuts that something like Guardians of the Galaxy now has two e-ticket attractions in the parks but a good portion of their most notable animated features like The Lion King barley have representation in the parks beyond a show once every 5 years? Even recent hits like Tangled or Moana are getting rest stops and water play areas. That doesn't make sense to me

It would be if you were laying down and suspended thirty feet above the screen on the floor. Imagine entering the Quinjet and flying out like Star Tours but then the Quinet breaks apart and you are flying above the screen on your stomach. The barf factor would be high.

I forgot to respond to this. What would you theme the ride to, if you could choose?

My top choice for that ride system at DLR would be Fantasia. I’m picturing some big show scenes revolving around Chernabog and Sorcerers Apprentice. The screen scenes would be perfect for some of the more abstract stuff hopefully with bigger more enveloping screens than Potter. I think the ride system would lend itself well to the music and whimsy of Fantasia as it could sway to the music. Hopefully improve on the Kuka arm with more articulation. Overall I’m imagining like Soarin Over California / FOP emotion meets whimsical dark ride. Emotion, Whimsy and an element of suspense/ danger I think is what most people want out of a good Disney ride. With a little humor for good measure.

Other good ones would be BatB, Sleeping Beauty and Sword in the Stone.

I’ve watched a few videos of Cosmic Rewind. From what I’ve seen in the videos, I’m not impressed, but the ride looks fun. The visuals seem nice as well. The ending is abrupt and all those blank walls are super unattractive. Not sure what’s up with that. There are also no animatronics, which I find to be strange, since they built a Rocket animatronic for Mission:Breakout (now that impressed me the first time I saw it). Speaking of Rocket, that doesn’t sound like Bradley Cooper’s voice in Cosmic Rewind.

So, I’m not impressed, but it looks fun and it’s something I’d check if I ever get to EPCOT.

I watched it once and I agree it didn’t sound like Bradley Cooper at all. His voice over in Mission BO is pretty good which apparently isn’t him either. Why didn’t they use him. That last room looks really sparse. I’m wondering if they re purposely leaving some projections off to keep one last surprise for when the ride opens to the masses.

Other than that the ride looks really fun and if there was ever a ride that doesn’t translate on video it would be this one.

You could be right, they may have some projections planned for the end and just haven’t turned them on. If not, then…wow. I believe that actually is Bradley Cooper in M:BO.

I agree that actually experiencing the rise in person is essential for a full review.

Oh is it? Sounds like him. I thought ì remembered reading that it wasn’t him.

Yeah I can’t see what would be the point of that white room at the end being so empty. Like why design it that way if it’s just going to be a tiny projection of the Gaurdians… unless their was a budget cut or maybe something they ll add later.

I tried to watch a POV, but this is one that I don't think is going to translate to video. I really want to get a feel for the interaction of spinning car and screens. In other words, how likely is thing to make me puke?? :D

Bradley Cooper is not the voice of Rocket on Cosmic Rewind, I don't believe its been actually credited to anyone yet. Its unknown if he just wasn't available, or if its something with his contract. But neither he nor Vin Diesel voiced their respective characters on Cosmic Rewind.
