If you're talking about the one about the Hall of Presidents, I think the interviews that weren't from the archives were filmed mostly in late 2019 and early 2020.

As for Mr Lincoln, I would honestly be surprised if it was axed at this point, at least not wholly. I could see them modify it in the future into a smaller version of Hall of Presidents but not get rid of it completely.

But on a long enough time line everything will be axed or replaced, so it depends on the "when" we're talking about.

I guess when I say axed I mean “short term.” Anywhere in the next 10 years. I don’t think everything will be axed. I think at least two handfuls of things are untouchable at Disneyland. Modified yes but not completely axed.

I hear you. Definitely was rolling my eyes when I made that last post. Perhaps I’m not aware of her history at the company but she definitely doesn’t come across as genuine or knowledgeable about the park history as the other people being interviewed. Maybe I can’t just give her a fair shake because she appeared out of nowhere to destroy my favorite ride and she’s the face of all these cancel culture changes?

The fact she's meaningfully associated with the Splash changes makes me feel like I'll never be a fan of hers. It's just interesting to me how quickly she started being used by Disney in PR statements and videos and stuff.

Yeah I doubt at this point if Mr. Lincoln will be completely axed. Like I said I can see them modifying it in some way, such as a smaller Hall of Presidents like I mentioned. Which if I'm honest I'd like to see the show expanded to a Hall of Presidents style show anyways, but that is just me.

I’ve never seen Hall of Presidents but I like the idea of keeping the original at DL. Aside from historical/sentimental reasons it also continues the current theme of the original Park keeping the ride while the clone is removed from other park. Like Toad, Country Bears, TOT. In this case of course Hall isn’t really a clone.

Yeah I wouldn't want an exact clone, but rather an expanded show that highlighted some of the more significant presidents including Lincoln such as Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt, Kennedy, Obama, etc.

So my last post got me thinking what is the complete list of Disneyland exclusive rides?

I have:

Alice in Wonderland
Mr. Toads Wild Ride
Matterhorn
Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage
Gadgets Go Coaster 🤷🏻‍♂️
Great Moments with Mr Lincoln

At DCA (I’m leaving the flat rides out)

RSR
Mission Breakout
Grizzly River Run
Incredicoaster
Soarin Over California (when it’s playing)
Web Slingers (for now)

Interesting that 4 of DCAs 5 E tickets are exclusive to DCA.

Gadgets is also over in TDL, so not exclusive to DLR.

DCA is a pretty great sister park to DL (which is the best Disney park in USA imo) and most of the park is exclusive to CA which is really cool. Grizzly Rapids is a great ride imo, as is Soarin and that area of the park is beautiful. I love Pixar Pier, but would rather it be renamed back to Paradise Pier but its still a solid well themed unique area that has a great coaster, terrifying ferris wheel, amazing nighttime show, as well as TSMM and a bunch of smaller rides like Little Mermaid and Inside Out. Cars Lands is amazing hands down. I dont even like Cars franchise, the land is soo well done its just great. Avengers Campus is good imo, i love that it has so many characters walking around and so many shows. GotG is really good and WS is a fine middle tier dark ride (something the park needs more of) And lastly the hollywood area is the weakest point imo. that entire area around Monsters Inc will hopefully be bulldozed and redone if they ever do the easter gateway project. But its the only real bad spot in the park imo. Also the Wine country and Marina areas have great food and ambiance. I love the bread making tour and chocolate shop, its quaint and unique. Im excited to see what the next expansion is for CA, wether is AC phase 2, or the MOnsters Inc area expansion/redo.

I was curious, so I Googled.

LinkedIn says she's been part of Disney Parks, Products, Experiences for 12 years. Not sure if her role has been the same for all those years. Before that she was a VP of Talent Development Programs at Disney/ABC TV for 6 years.

Disneyland
Sailing Ship Columbia
Disneyland Monorail is technically considered an attraction.
Pirates Liar

Disney’s California Adventure
Monster’s Inc: Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!
Luigi’s Rollicking Roadsters (Aquatopia is a course)
Golden Zephyr (a flat but one that is quite unique)
Pixar Pal-A-Round (Ferris wheels aren’t usually considered flat rides)

Aww yes I forgot Columbia. Can we really count the Monorail or TSI though? I forgot Monsters Inc and Pal Around too. I think by the time I got to DCA I went off on the “all the E tickets at DCA are exclusive tangent.”

Wasn’t Parks, Products and Experiences formed like 3 years ago? I don’t think she’s done anything at the parks until the incision committee recently.

The Disneyland Resort monorail is run by Attractions whereas the Walt Disney World Monorail is run by Transportation and I believe the Disney Resort Line is a subsidiary since its operating public transportation.

Disneyland’s Tom Sawyer Island is the only one with pirate stuff thrown onto it. You count Mission: Breakout! even though the base system underneath exists elsewhere.

Every time I go to the park I forget to ask but what are the odds that a train station/ train CM will help me solve the mystery of the new/ “old” train station announcements?

Hahah that’s true I did count Mission Breakout but I think that’s a bit different than TSI with a few Pirate Props thrown around or counting the Moronrail because of how it’s classified but sure I do think there is a degree of subjectivity here. If we don’t count Mission Breakout do we not count RSR because of Test Track? I think Not

As I sit here with Covid quarantining myself from my family in my sons bedroom I think if there’s anything I’ve ever done right in my life it was going to Disneyland alone at 10 years old and walking straight to… not Space Mountain. Not Thunder Mountain. The Horse Drawn Street Cars. That was my first and last time riding it. I was determined to use that day to go on attractions family didn’t want to do on our yearly-ish visits.

In my quarantine delirium (day 7 or 8?) I found myself scrolling on Disney+ and thought, “hey, I’ve never actually watched The Black Cauldron before….” So I did. Let’s just say, I was not a fan.

Historically speaking, it’s a miracle that Walt Disney Feature Animation survived through the late 70’s and early 80’s. The documentary Waking Sleeping Beauty tells the story perfectly.

Black Cauldron is terrible! Bottom 5 animated Disney movies for me. To like that movie you have to have been a kid between like 5-10 in 1985.

Seriously late 70s early 80s was rough!!

As far as my delirium, it’s really amazing to see where you re mind wanders. Somehow my train of thought just brought me to “what did early people use for blankets and pillows?”

Also this Silence I’m experiencing right now is really amazing. It’s bringing me back to my 20s. I think some of us, especially those with young kids or a lot of family forget what Silence is like. It’s truly invigorating. I have the heater on and also have the window open. So I have the cool air flowing in and I’m hearing distant ambient noises like an occasional airplane outside but also the humming of the heater inside. Perfect lighting and no TV on. I understand why people meditate. It’s crucial in todays world.
