In Kingdom Hearts, Merlin and the Fairy Godmother are living together... and that’s freakin’ awesome. :D

I've only been twice since the closure, both on saturdays. Here's my experience:

Space Mountain/Indy 35 minutes all day
Other rides 5-20 minutes all day
Haunted Mansion/Holiday: Sometimes 30 minutes, but usually "13 minutes"

New Orleans Square and Main St never felt crowded to me.

What I remember from the Fastpass Days:
Space Mountain 90-120 Minutes
Indiana Jones 45-60 minutes
Haunted Mansion Holiday:60 minutes
Star Tours: 40 minutes

I especially felt the difference of lack of FP in Disney World.

I was on a trip Sun-Tues this week and nearly everything seemed to be near the hour mark at least. Haunted Mansion Holiday didn't really dip below 50min all 3 days. The shortest line I had was Pooh at 10 min in the morning. On Tuesday Guardians hit 180min!

I miss fastpass for sure and am looking forward to Genie +, especially for trips on busy weekends.

Muppet Haunted Mansion was pretty good, all things considered, but whoever is doing Kermit's voice now is terrible. As if someone told the voice actor what Kermit was supposed to sound like but banned him from ever listening to any audio recordings.

Some thoughts from my trip yesterday…

Crowds weren’t too bad at all. Got there at 2pm and stayed until past closing at 11pm. Space Mountain was hovering between 30-40 min for most of the day. I was surprised. It was a beautiful 75 during the day. Night was a little chilly at 60 with a slight breeze so maybe that kept people away?

Matterhorn- it’s getting harder and harder to justify riding. Ended up on the left side this time (Tomorrowland side) which is the rougher side. Seat 6 too which is apparently the worst seat for your back. Man, this ride just beats you up if you have any sort of back issues. I go on for the old school DL vibes but I’m just not sure it’s worth it anymore. Might just stick to the right side and make sure I don’t sit in the last seat. Also why didn’t I hear the yodeling in line.

Indiana Jones - first time riding in about 2 years. I enjoyed it. Sound effects were loud and crisp. Unfortunately the lighting effects for the different halls/ doors weren’t working. We just kind of went through a dark door to the Hall of the future. Big snake was super slow as usual. Boulder was working but timing seemed off. The Boulder felt kind of far away as we were dropping.

Haunted Mansion Holiday- second time riding this season and I’m way past ready for Haunted Mansion to come back. I can’t understand why there aren’t more songs from the movie though? Since the NBC IP basically just vomits all over the classic Mansion I can’t understand why the songs aren’t included? Instead we have this unpleasant cacophony of Grim Grinning Ghosts and some NBC music and Christmas songs.

Peter Pans Flight- is in really rough shape. Maybe because it was my last ride of the night and my eyes had adjusted to the dark but I felt like I could see everything in the London and Neverland rooms. One of the clouds below in London turned into a tornado somehow and was blowing around in circles. That projection screen for the Neverland star has gotta go. Does nothing for the ride but stick out like a sore thumb. Oddly enough outside of the nursery scene and Neverland, the Indians on the cliff are some of the most visually appealing figures on the ride. That whole overhead track is super rickety and could use some WD-40.

The new Monsters Inc popcorn bucket in Tokyo is incredible. I wish US would step up to Tokyos popcorn bucket quality. I also wish the popcorn stand in epcot offered more flavors and perhaps even around the world style flavors. I feel like Disney is leaving a lot of money on the table, imagine how well a well themed popcorn bucket would sell esp if there were a bunch of different flavors worth trying.

Standby guests should be able to veto single riders riding with them. Some of the rides are too intimate to have a stranger next to you. I rode Space with my wife and son on Sunday and had them sit in the front row. I was in the second row behind my son. Out of nowhere comes single rider to make things nice and awkward. It’s not fun riding when you feel that you can’t look to your left or risk locking eyes with some Rando. Next time, I might just start “sneezing” uncontrollably with my mask off. I’m subsidizing my ride experience and waited 40 minutes in line so you could wait 5 to jump on immediately. Like do you know what it took for me to get on that Space Mountain roller coaster car on that Sunday afternoon? Do you know that those couple minutes are the only adrenaline this 39 year old father of 2 will have for the next 3-4 weeks? I’m riding out that adrenaline for the next month and you just want to wake up, skip the line and do that fast paced little shuffle into Row 2 like your doing something important or so you feel less awkward?

Single Riders are basically people that use those Pedestrian cross walks that make 14 cars come to a screeching halt.

The whole special felt very low budget.
I felt the same and suspect that notion had to do with most of the scenes obviously filmed in front of a green screen with the settings animated in. I laughed a few times, but it was nothing to write home about. Bittersweet to see the ghost of Ed Asner.
...whoever is doing Kermit's voice now is terrible.
I imagine the only reason this hasn't been addressed is that the art of puppeteering is difficult and they can't switch players simply because they sound better. At present, it is unfortunately distracting.

🤣

Disagree entirely, though. While I fully understand the awkwardness of sitting next to some rando, I really admire the efficiency of Disney's single rider system. Went to Knott's recently and waited 2+ hours for coasters that consistently sent out trains with empty seats.

Haha I’m not judging the people that take advantage of single rider system. It works for some people and their scenario. I was just painting a little story of my particular scenario this past Sunday and explaining why I don’t like it. The convenience for one party creates an awkward scenario for the other. One of the highlights (or potential highlights) of my day is diminished for the single riders convenience.

To put it another way… the single rider had an extremely short wait time for that same awkward ride experience (which probably isn’t even awkward for them since they do it all the time) that I waited 40 minutes for.

Of the 10 rides where Single Rider is offered I think the only 3 that potentially create an awkward experience are Space Mountain, Goofys Sky School and Incredicoaster.

My daughter LOVES single rider. Why? Because she gets to talk a random person's ear off. If she had been on with you, it would've started with something like: "Do you like Space Mountain? It used to scare me, but now I love it! What's your favorite part?" This would've come out at a rapid-fire pace before you even left the station. 🤣 🤣 🤣

So, you know, @mickEblu, be happy the rando you rode with didn't want to make eye contact with you. ;)

Lol well I wouldn’t know. I didn’t turn my head.

As for your daughter, a child wouldn’t make me feel awkward and I would happily engage. Its those adults that are the problem lol. I actually shine in small talk with strangers or neighbors- it’s just that I’m dying inside and try to avoid it all costs. I think for whatever reason I hate things that are obligatory or aren’t genuine. I also happen to have a neighbor that will turn a hello into a 20 minute convo and it doesn’t matter what he sees you in the middle of - child strapped in car seat in the driveway and all
