Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but noticed they're testing mobile merchandise ordering for the parks now...

It looks like it's a scan and go type deal. Could be pretty cool.

I've been having a tough time getting into the attraction series. The narration, editing, and choppy storytelling makes it kind of irritating to watch.

Agree.

The 'Star Tours' segment on that Behind The Attraction series really rubbed me the wrong way.
Several reasons, one being how Tom F. was given far more interview content and screen time then our boy Tony.

I also wasn't overly thrilled with how Tony seemed to be cast in the role of the 'old fogey' and the butt of some visual jokes, while Tom was made to seem to be the 'guy in charge'.

Maybe it's just me....but I was not overly keen on the quick cut presentation and overall tone.
But as President of the Tony Baxter Fan Club, well, maybe some would say I'm bias....

I don't have Disney+, or any streaming service.
But I did see this one episode of the series and I was good with it after that....

This doesn't have anything to do with anything, but I just found this photo of what's clearly a demonic, screaming face formed from molten lava:

lava.jpg

Reverse-searching this doesn't bring up anything except for several instances of the photo appearing on education and government websites, and searching for something like "screaming molten lava face" fails to yield the image on all the search engines I tried. I thought this would be some sort of well-known cursed image when I found it, but apparently nobody has ever caught onto the existence of this perfect screaming face before. That's kind of insane, because this genuinely looks like something that was sculpted by an artist.

What are they protesting?
Money!

>>ā€œRight now a union official tells me Disneyland is offering about a 2% wage increase, while theyā€™re looking for a 6-7% increaseā€

Guess there was a protest on Disneylandā€™s birthday too

Regarding that 3rd shift poster in the back (Micechat):

>>Weā€™ve previously reported on a labor shift where duties traditionally done by 3rd Shift Custodial were shifted to regular day custodians to do in less time and for less money. This protest has a lot to do with that, as much of 3rd Shift Custodial continues to be left on furlough.

Even as 3rd Shift Custodial languishes on furlough, the custodians you and I see out in the park are increasingly understaffed and overworked. Weā€™ve been noticing a drop in the cleanliness of parts of the parks, overflowing trash cans, dirty restrooms, even dusty vents and things which always seemed to be clean in the past. This seems counterintuitive in a time where increased cleanliness should be a priority.

To help with the daytime workload deficit, 3rd Shift Custodial is being offered part-time day positions at DCA at the expense of whatever seniority or full-time status they may have had in 3rd Shift. Some have taken the position and theyā€™ve been training this week, but theyā€™ll be punished by being placed at the bottom of the seniority pile after all their years of service doing the thankless task of cleaning up the park after the guests have gone home for the day.

This isnā€™t a problem exclusive to one department either, cast members in many departments are feeling the squeeze and itā€™s beginning to hurt the guest experience as well. If youā€™ve seen restrooms closed before youā€™ve even exited the park for the day, experienced a lack of housekeeping in your $400+ a night Disney hotel room, had to wait an hour for a mobile order, seen multiple attractions all broken down at the same time, or had Disney Customer Service line hang up on your call because there were too many other guests in queue, youā€™ve already experienced the squeeze.

I've been checking wait times at DL. On a busy day, I would just ride the train several laps and do the Jungle Cruise, but nooo, the wait for the train is 40min (Sat 5PM) and Jungle Cruise is 50min!! :(

I've heard they have very few trains running.

I have to add, I love Star Tours and it's only a 15min wait.

They donā€™t seem all that concerned with masks here in Palm Desert at the hotel. Pretty much nobody is wearing them indoors in the restaurants, lobby or bars. Didnā€™t the whole state catch up with LA counties new mandate? Anyway itā€™s nice. It almost feels like 2019 over here. Full of people and energy.
