The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

I'll give Cline credit for constructing a somewhat original idea in RPO (though I'd consider it derivative of South Park's Imagination Land, and a million other 80's things), but that's about as far as it goes.

Armada was practically unreadable, and RP2 just isn't calling my name right now.
You’ll be happy to know that Imaginstion Land is referenced in RP2. I’m now 2/3 through Ready Player Two and it keeps altering between good fun and... well, I for one did NOT enjoy (SPOILER) the multi-chapter quest through John Hughes World where the goal was to restore the original ending of Pretty in Pink. I wish I was joking.

Still wouldn’t beat RSR for me. UNLESS the AAs are Humphrey Bear & crew AND the whole ride soundtrack is The Humphrey Hop. Even then, though, it’d still be a Warm-Day-Only ride.

Yeah it does lose points for the weather restrictions but I think on the right day it beats any other ride at the park on their best day.

Hahah I was thinking more realistic animals but if I opened a parks blog one day and saw they were adding some Humphrey AAs I wouldn’t be mad at all.

Haha, I'm not sure if him referencing it makes it better... or worse.
It's sounding like a probable pass from me.

Someone on twitter referenced Disneyland goes to the Worlds Fair, an old episode of Wonderful World of Color. It appears on YouTube but I had seen a good hd scan on the D23 site. It's amazing what a good scan can do for old film. I believe the YouTube version is a poor dvd transfer and why isn't this on D+ since they already scanned it?

Anyone know how to unignore a thread you accidentally ignored?

On another note- just watched an Adam the Woo vlog and the Slinky Coaster looks a lot more charming than I thought it would be. Toy Story land in general looks better than Pixar Pier. Not really apples to apples I know but when both were being constructed / rethemed I honestly thought the pier would come out better due to the fact that it had the good bones of the pier as a starting point and it not being a land themed to giant fiberglass toys.

I might be wrong, but as far as I'm aware you can't ignore an actual thread. If you ignore a specific user then all threads they created will then be "ignored". So you'll have to unignore the specific user in order for that thread to appear in your list again.

Slinky Dog is ok. Toy is really too plastic, primary colors all of that, for my tastes. Its that way because of course its a Land of the Giants sort of thing, but just too much hardness? about it all. I'm not the demographic, so consider that.

I get that. I’m not really the demo either. It just looks a lot more pleasant and visually interesting that I thought it would. Those trees help. I like the huge “wooden backyard fence” too.

Oh I see. Yeah its not like a wasteland for sure. I put the demo thing in there a lot just kind of a disclaimer guess, that my opinion about some of these things should be weighted less.
