...other than that I play World of Warcraft and Smash Bros Ultimate, so not really games to play while trying to relax and chill 🤣
New Smash character DLC reveal this Monday at 7 AM PT!!!! Hopefully available for download at the same time!!!

The existence of digital game releases and upgrades has really made tbese quarantine months more bearable. If only Disney had kept Infinity alive, they could have been digitally selling content to millions of users all this time...

Spent the day down in San Diego. It’s such a different world down there. Nobody cares about social distancing and everyone just seems so much happier than in LA. Also, saw the Matterhorn when passing by Disneyland which made me happy. I can’t wait for the good things to return so I can stop being absorbed by all the bad.

Tror, I’m sorry, but that’s called being short-sighted , self-centered and sticking their heads in the sand. Ignoring a global emergency and acting irresponsibly just makes things worse and endangers everyone. Two weeks from now, many of those prople could be ill (I hope I’m wrong) and could have spread a dangerous virus to someone they love. Again, I’m sorry to be a joy-killer here, but the more people who behave irresponsibly, the longer it’s going to take to get our country back up to speed.
(edit)
Seeing the Matterhorn always makes me happy as well.

If it happens, it happens. Nothing I can do about it. They were all outside anyway and according to new science that can't spread the virus so they're probably fine. Anyway, point is just that it was nice to be so relaxed.

You implied they weren’t social distancing, and thus indeed increasing chances of spreading the virus. (Sorry to get “triggered” but I have dear relatives who are in serious peril from this pandemic and I live in a town full of morons.) I know there’s nothing you can do about the behavior of the folks you observed, and I’m glad you had a relaxing trip. These are crazy times, but the human race will get through this.

In 1975, my best friend and I took our first road trip from N. Cal. to L.A. We went to Disneyland 2 days, Knotts once, Universal once, Magic Mtn. once, plus the Hollywood Wax Museum, Hollywood Blvd., a game show taping and an Alice Cooper concert. All admissions, food, souvenirs, gas, motels, camera film...EVERYTHING...came to a total of less than $200 (TWO HUNDRED!) each. :D

I kind of life it. Feels like a proper Disney castle now. Certainly better than Hong Kong's new castle.

Too cartoony.

I don't know who this person is at WDI who believes all castles should be cartoony is, but they need to be at best reassigned.

It was a proper castle before and there was literally nothing wrong with it. Now it's been DizneyPrinsess Fisher-Price bombed.

Hopefully this is temporary like they're saying, but WDW temporary has been known to turn into 30 years.

Better than Hong Kong doesn't necessarily still mean good.

I suppose. But still, let's take a look at Hong Kong's new castle.

Does this mean Disneyland’s is temporary too? I’ll be honest, at first glance I like the paint job more than Sleeping Beauty Castles new paint job. With that said it has grown on me... during the right time of day/ lighting.

I don't think DL's is temporary. I don't recall it being billed as such. WDW's is billed as temporary to celebrate the resort's 50th anniversary. But I have a hard time believing them when other things that were supposed to be "temporary" and lasted inordinate amounts of time included the Epcot wand, the BAHat at DHS, Mickey's Birthdayland/Starland/Toontown Fair, and the Voyage of the Little Mermaid Show.

@TROR I agree that Hong Kong's is awful, but maintain that "better than HK's castle" and "good" are not necessarily synonyms.

Well I like Hong Kong’s castle for the fact that Sleeping Beauty’s Castle in Anaheim is unique again.

Separating the weirdness of Hong Kong's castle and the rather interesting colours, there is much better gradation moving up.

The problem with MK in the current form is that there is no visual gradation. The grey brickwork is starkly contrasted with the pink stucco.

Either the grey brickwork needs to change or the pink. In isolation (if I cover up the top or bottom), I don't hate it as much. 3/4 colours work all together, but the two ends of the spectrum are kinda awful. Maybe the brick painting is still to come...

True. But I actually kind of liked the mountain backdrop towering behind SBC. True, It made the castle look extra-puny, but it was unique.

In a way there was some symmetry in DL having the Matterhorn adjacent to the castle and HK having a real mountain adjacent (although the location of the two isn't identical; Space Mountain in HK is basically in the Matterhorn's spot).

I liked that too. Well luckily the mountains are still there as a nice backdrop.
