Pretty sure just in Japan. Their Tiki Room is unique as well.

Apparently these animatronic shows are far more beloved out there then here.

With Tiki Room they made two all-new versions just for Tokyo, "Feel the Beat" and the Stitch one.

Vacation Hoedown is odd because it shares the same name, premise, costumes and some of the songs, but changes others.

I managed to make it through the live-action Aladdin remake yesterday...

It had it's moments, but felt very much like a high school's attempt at recreating a Broadway play.
Lots of questionable "changes" (for the sake of change, surely) that really didn't make sense.
Overall, I'd say this added absolutely nothing to the original, but was just a bawdy attempt to
tickle our nostalgia spot and show off the capabilities of CGI in 2019.

I give it: 🍿🍿 (out of 5)

Maybe we can get a different Twilight Zone themed ride? Maybe? please???
As someone who hates Disney using non-Disney-created IPs in the parks (with a special exception for Indy and Star Tours), I'd be happy with NO more Twilight Zone theming BUT a return to a Haunted Hotel elevator ride using an original story, much like at Disneysea.

The Twilight Zone theme is not the reason people line up for ToT. Marvel is not the reason people line up for MB. People love these rides because they're fantastic drop rides. All that matters is that the theme sets the mood. They could be themed to a Star Trek deck elevator gone haywire and the result would be the same.

What kind of High School did you go to?!?!? Mine barely had a budget for one plywood sheet and a can of paint. :D

I enjoyed it more than you did, but, yeah, "memorable" it ain't. I liked Smith, whoever played Jasmine and whoever played the Sultan. And the tiger. And the Bollywood credits. Everything else is a fast-forward on repeat viewings. (And Jafar suuuuuuuuuuuuuucked!)

If theming doesn't matter then Disney could just ditch all the expensive theming and just go with something like this. Tourists will still ride it.

I didn't mean to sound like I don't think theming matters. In the big picture, it's what makes Disneyland a beloved vacation destination. I'm mainly referring to just this one ride, and the reason people ride it. It should always have a theme (otherwise it would be as disposable as Maliboomer was), but it can be ANY effective theme.

Ok, maybe a repertory theatre production. But yeah.
Jasmine was the redeeming quality. Smith was competent, but he could never fill the shoes of his predecessor. Aladdin couldn't sing his way out of a paper bag. I actually enjoyed the more Bollywood elements (I had been in an Indian wedding last year and it was spot on).

Everything else though... no thanks.

Doctor Doom's Fear Fall at Islands of Adventure seems to be doing pretty well. It is just Maliboomer with a light Doctor Doom theme.

I’ve done it once I think and have no need to do it again. It’s not exactly one of the most popular attractions in the park.

Looking back a my original comment on this, I just want to say that I think theming is very important, but IP theming is irrelevant most of the time when it comes to thrill rides such as coasters and Drop Towers. Big Thunder doesn't need an outside IP, nor does Space Mtn. or the Matterhorn. They DO need their mood-setting decor and effects. DCA's drop tower needs an effective setup, but it can be any story that works. The IPs "Twilight Zone" and "GotG" were never the big draw. Any good, well-done theme will work.
