This isn’t really news. He has said it previously, including when he totally didn’t call Expedition Everest a “nondescript coaster somewhere, that maybe is [themed like] India or whatever”. He is probably very proud that Walt’s last attraction is no longer a nondescript boat ride.

I’ve said this before but i would love to be in the minds of folks in 1969 who just rode Haunted Mansion for the first time and Pirates of the Caribbean a couple years before that. I wonder if they were thinking that Imagineering would sustain that level of brilliance? That every odd year (or even every few years) they would be treated to a new attraction of that caliber.

On my way to the OC Car Show. I'm planning on dropping by DTD for a walkabout. Will stare at the ugly GOTG:MB tower over the DCA entrance. Hoping a cast member will take pity on me and let me into Disneyland. ;)

Already at the Show, very impressive. Lisa is on her way.

Just tell the CM's you are close friends with the Real Bob Chapek. They will give you the special treatment, Security CM's are awesome escorts!

I just don’t get why they need another company to produce this or why the rock’s name is attached. Does Disney not have its own production companies to make these things?

If this is half the quality that the David Oneal videos are, or the myriad of private interviews various Imagineers have done that are available online for free, I'll be very surprised.

So what ever happened to that Jungle Cruise movie?
I saw a test screening for it on the Disney lot. Legally I can’t say anything about the movie.

On a completely unrelated note, Walt Disney Pictures live action don't have a solid track record. It's like they keep trying to recreate that original Pirates of the Caribbean yet have never succeeded.

Bittersweet as it may be for us Disneylanders, I wanted to share this outstanding promo for Disneyland Paris' Halloween. This is the best thing I've seen thus far celebrating this years spooky season.

I miss our tower.

I saw the Country Bear Vacation Hoedown in Japan 2 weeks ago, but was not prepared for how at least half the songs are different from the English language version. I don't just mean they were sung in Japanese, I mean they actually changed what songs were sung (no "thank god I'm a country bear" or "life's no picnic without you" or "ghost riders in the sky"). Did they change it after 1986 in California too, or just Japan?

Here's a video for reference:

Pretty sure just in Japan. Their Tiki Room is unique as well.

Apparently these animatronic shows are far more beloved out there then here.
