To me putting a ride based an 8 year old movie that no one cared much about 8 years ago, is a great way to further date Tomorrowland.
Speaking of, let's not forget that Epcot is currently breaking ground on a "brand new" Ratatouille attraction...You know...that one movie about a talking chef rat that came out 11 years ago...??

To be fair, though: Ratatouille is a fantastic movie. That's a Pixar film that I never get tired of and still makes me laugh and tear up every time I see it.
True on the film's greatness...but does that really warrant its necessity in coming to Epcot? Is it really making Epcot "more timeless, more relevant, more Disney, etc." to be throwing in an IP from over a decade ago? Especially when that park has had other attractions/pavilions languishing for longer that need to be addressed, like Imagination?

It's not really where most of us want to see Epcot go. But if this is the direction Disney's taking it, at least Ratatouille fits the theme better than, say, Frozen in Norway. And since most people know the film, most WDW visitors won't ever get to the Paris parks, and the R&D is already done for this ride, it's an easy way to quickly add a big new attraction to Epcot. I can't see them *not* doing this under the current leadership.

Good points. And don't get me started about Fro-Strom...
Still, can't help but wish they'd fix the attractions the park already has...

Not entirely. At this point, all I can hope for is balance. And even that seems like a pipe-dream. :/

Keep in mind that to a great degree the CEO is beholden to the Board of Directors. Considering how strong Disney's financial growth has been under Iger I assume the BOD will hire a CEO who will continue to double-down on the current strategy. :(

I'm still calling it: Pixar Pier's gonna get its own Ratatouille ride-- and it's just gonna be Goofy's Sky School with Rat cars and plywood cutouts. :D

Haha.... sorry, I can't help being a realist, but I'll be mindful to avoid constantly being a rainy cloud. On a positive note this attitude has helped deaden my reaction to things like IP Mission Breakout and Pixar Pier. I care, but I kinda don't care.
I am a realist...but only after I spend energy being a hopeful optimist. But I'm also a cynic.
Mostly it goes "hey! That would be awesome! But it probably won't happen. And why should it, because things suck!"

Larry David is my patronus.

You my friend, do not get a Tomorrowland pin.
