I see a payphone there. If that helps?

Good eye. Is that a pay phone or an ATM though. Either way I’m thinking either right before or right after the entry tunnel just on the other side of the berm. If it’s inside Town Square it would mean it’s where that empty area just to the left of City Hall. Where the guided tour booth used to be. On the right side there would have never been that much open space as the side of the Disneyana building butts up against the berm.

EDIT: what am I saying? It can’t be left side of Berm (if that’s what it is )- it’s on the wrong side.

Could it be the Disneyland Hotel?

I feel like this helps my theory. I’ve never seen a pay phone in Disney except for at the entrance to one of the parks.
Unfortunately, that's faulty logic. There used to be pay phones throughout Disneyland proper.

These being the most awesome and futuristic versions:

I don’t think so. My parents weren’t DL Hotel people. It was a day trip to the park and out.

I just sent the pic to my mom’s cousin who is a huge and longtime Disneylander and would remember the park in that era. She responded “I’m driving. It’s Tomorrowland under the Peoplemover.” When she stops driving I’m going to ask her if she can be a little more specific as I’m having a hard time picturing it.

Here is the correctly mirrored version

This section is very interesting to me. What are the words on the sign saying? It looks mirrored to me, which shouldn't be as I just unmirrored the image. The rattan fence looks something from Adventureland and the image could be taken from that point (with the palm trees also indication), but the stairs are way too dirty to be Disneyland worthy. The fence also suddenly disappears. This is probably Photoshop, but why would Rober Photoshop it if he went to Disneyland multiple times (which he did?)

I was looking through some old family albums at my parents house yesterday and came across some old Disneyland pictures from the early 80’s. Can’t place this area for the life of me. Help.

I might be wrong, but something about this feels very much to be the backside of Alice dark ride building, pre refurb? Something about just reminds me of the little courtyard area with the restrooms and people sitting on the planters. It also makes a bit of sense as the Snow White Wishing Well is close by.

Ah. must be a 80s thing.
If you are 17, you haven't lived a minute of your life where smart phones didn't exist. While cell phones existed in the 80's and 90's, only wealthier people or those in larger companies had cell phones. Pagers were a fad in the mid to late 90's though (I admit I had one lol). Cell phones didn't really become mainstream where everyone had them until around the turn of the century. Payphones were still everywhere (including Disneyland) until the early 2000's.

It's crazy to think we went from this.....

I was thinking more along the lines of just visiting it on a trip, like taking the Monorail there to check it out or something, but Disneyland has changed a lot since the early 80's and it very well could be a place in the park that either doesn't exist anymore or has drastically changed.

Snow White in Tomorrowland seems weird though.

I know that. Just hard to imagine going to the magic kingdom and seeing phone booths in the stores.

Very good guess. That crossed my mind as well. Somewhere between Alice and the planter that butts up against Snow Whites wishing well.

EDIT: but I’d feel better about this guess if it wasn’t for the building in the background.

She does seems weird in TL but I was thinking like perhaps somewhere by the long entrance into TL like where the Astro Orbitor would be now so essentially still the hub.

The answer probably lies with the castle itself - the windows were never that saturated pre-2005.
