Remember the Toontown Brawl? Meet the Fantasyland Fiasco at DL today…

You good @PiratesMansion ?

I totally missed that, assuming it was today (no timestamp anywhere).

This has been the extent of my Fantasyland activity today:
1. Go to PPF at rope drop
2. See that PPF AND Alice have full queues already, and promptly bail on both of them
3. Wonder if the little arch in the Mr. Toad outdoor queue has always been there or if it was added in that building refresh they just did.

4. Mr. Toad and Snow White
5. Book it to HMH so that I could do it and "only" wait 30 minutes.

I really enjoyed the new “Once Upon a Studio” short. I’m reminded of my request for an attraction that goes through the companies greatest films and songs. You really only get that during the Spectaculars where you have to camp out for hours and brave the crowds.

Proof that they were drunk? And even if they were drunk, one incident doesn’t mean the whole park will be affected.
I don't care if they were drinking or not. Alcohol brings this behavior to the park regardless of the participants' sobriety. That's was Walt's argument and that's mine. Parks that serve alcohol are trash and trash draw flies.

Just checked an old photo with my son on my shoulders in that very spot. Arch has been there since at least 2016.

I watched this today, absolutely loved it, Mickey talking with Walt’s picture was perfection.

Tonight is the Eve of Disney officially turning 100 year old. Two hours from now, ABC will be airing a special episode of "The Wonderful World of Disney" called "Disney's 100th Anniversary Celebration" to commemorate the occasion very soon. Looking forward to finally seeing "Once Upon A Studio" and a preview of Wish on my HD TV.
Enjoyed the "ad" during football just now.

I'll post a full trip report in a bit, but I just got back from a week in Northern New Mexico. Did a lot of great hiking and sightseeing. Saw the annular eclipse at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta after having spent the morning watching all the balloons. That being said, at 5:45a Saturday morning, the Balloon Fiesta had a drone show sponsored by a local casino... and it was great! I had never seen a drone show before and loved it. I was informed it was a particularly simple show, but I was smiling the whole time and loved it even in its advertisement filled simplicity. Please enjoy my crappy photos of the show that look SO much worse than it did in person-

I was curious at how dynamic the imagery was. They were not all just static shapes sliding along a plane like I had imagined, most were moving 3D images rotating in place, animating in fun ways, lighting animations giving life to the night sky. My immediate thought after the fun of the ~15 minute show was how on earth is Disney not on the forefront of this technology? If a crappy local casino can put on a fun little show like this, how has Disney not been doing these for years and pioneering what the technology can do? I know there is a show in France, but Disney is seemingly behind the times with these things...

Disneyland Day 3 is over, and though I had every intention of moving my fourth day to tomorrow-even changing the reservation while I was at the park (related question: WHY can't you do this on the app?!?)-the ankle is making it clear right now that it's ready for a break. So I will return to Disneyland on Saturday (almost assuredly not in time for opening, unfortunately, which will inevitably limit what I'll be able to accomplish) and do whatever I can in the time I have.

I also bought tickets for next year like a sucker, which is perhaps why I'm feeling vaguely content with everything I've been able to do and don't feel the need to do the parks to death in the way that I once did. It would be nice to do PPF and Roger Rabbit before I go, but I've done everything else I care about at this point. The one exception to this? HMH, partially because novelty and partially because it's the ride overlay in the correct park (i.e. the one I want to spend 95% of my time in).

Not cool of the generic calendar to show me that the half marathon weekend is available only to be denied by the app for scheduling.

😂 This really made me laugh.

Cheers!! 🍻

Interesting new coaster hybrid at Lagoon in Utah. It is a story telling coaster with a vertical drop element and shooting segments.

Primordial Ride

What I find interesting is that apparently there are multiple endings. So you might ride once and get a drop track ending, and ride again and get something totally different.

I'm definitely intregued, and Lagoon was already a very good park prior to this, with the notable caveat that Lagoon is definitely overpriced for what it is (almost $100 for a ticket, plus $20 parking).

There are two physically different endings on different track but then there are like three different show sequences associated with each.

The ride was also designed and built in house by the park.

Yep, as was Cannibal and Bombora. So I have to respect the work the park has done, because they're definitely trying to up their game.

Still having trouble accepting that it's now basically $100 to get into Lagoon, though.

It's the only theme park in the state. I really like the two dark rides. They are both really cheesy. I wish Knotts had such a thing.

Fair. And it is a pretty nice park. I suppose you can offset those costs a bit by carting in your own cooler of food and beverages, which I'm still amazed they allow you to do in 2023.

But it's hard for me to stomach seeing parks that aren't Disney or Universal approach or cross the $100 threshold.

I just realized that I missed my 20th Anniversary on this website! It was last week, October 11th according my little profile page. But I think that might be fitting, because at this point in a relationship it's not uncommon to forget anniversaries, right?

Happy 20th Anniversary to me and thank you to everyone here for all the fun and hilarity over the past two decades! 🥳
