The "Legoland" Effect

Ahh....So the whole Mata Nui/Makuta Arc would wrap up and we would finally have a winner? Sounds cool, I guess. And YES, those vehicles got pointless and too expensive. Probably brought them down a ton. Like I said, 3 and 3. In 2002, we had the Bahrang, ExoToa, and Boxor. Simple enough.

I should swing by BZP sometime...I have not posted there in ages. And yeah, the fan base will be solid. For a long time. I bet this Hero thing fails, anyway. BIO will be back.
Yeah, Journey's End, a serialized version of what would be the final novel internationally, will cover the final boss fight in great detail and I think afterwards, they intend to expand on the universe more.

Also, would be good to check out the graphic novels. Especially when sales of the two Bara Magna ones coming in March and May will determine the fate of the last one, which would go into detail on the final boss fight as well.

OK, good. I'll defiantly look into it. After 6 years of being a active fan, and after 10 years of it being around, I do want to see it through. All ready bought "Star" Tahu.

Glad that they'll go into the EU, how much longer can Makuta be used?

Based on my visits to Denmak and Windsor I suspect expectations are too high rather than a defence of Disneys poor management

The point exactly. I for one will go when it opens, but it is silly to beleive this shakes things up. Uni spent 1 Billion dollars on IOA. Disney sat back and watched, when it was not conceived as a major threat, Disney went about business as usual. I do kinda hope all these moves does make Disney get off its duff and wow us

Did Disney really just sit back and not do anything? Mostly.

But something people do not realize they did do was swipe a deal for Scott Trowbridge to come over to Disney's Imagineering. He was one of the leading creative designers behind many of the greats at IOA, including Spiderman and a few of the Studios attractions I know for a fact as well.

Not to mention, he was one of the leads and the head of the announcement when the Potter news broke officially.

Then Disney gets him up there in Imagineering. He knew a lot of interesting stuff you can imagine about the project and others, plus he is a really talented spirit.

Then a year and a half of nothing and what blasts out of Disney as a little bit of fire back?

The Fantasyland Expansion is announced.

Scott Trowbridge has largely been wasted at WDI.

But since I didn't (and won't) read 17 pages, what is the Legoland Effect? Is it fatal?

Up to three of the Stars myself, Tahu, Gresh and Nektann (the "piraka")

Well, Greg does have plans for the alternate universe good Makuta that was introduced in a webserial in 2008. There was quite a few dimension hopping stories that year.

Gresh... I had to Google that. I'm out of the loop. Nektann, I knew from 06, though.

Have Tahu, I'll probably stop with one more- Takanuva. Can't pass up one of the coolest characters. :D

GOOD Makuta? There's a oddity.

Disney had a plan of attack for combating Islands of Adventure if they needed to. This was gonna be Beastly Kingdom, David Copperfield's Magic Underground, etc. The thing was, Islands of Adventure really only hurt the attendance at Universal Studios, not Disney World.

You should give Legend Reborn a look, just for Michael Dorn's voice acting.
Nektann as a character was introduced in 2008, where the Order of Metru Nui called on his forces to help in their open war with the Brotherhood.

The Good Makuta's from an alternate universe visited in the Brother in Arms serial where the Great Beings never needed to create Mata Nui, but still created the beings that would live inside that Matoran world to help keep their planet from falling apart. The Makuta in that universe trained themselves and meditated to keep out any traces of darkness, becoming beings of light.

You are misinformed because Universal Studios' attendance numbers are higher than Islands of Adventure.

This has nothing to do with Animal Kingdom vs IOA. This is Islands of Adventure rolling out a huge project like The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Disney drawing more attention back to themselves by finally doing something in the magic kingdom.

And I don't think anyone really believes that Legoland will 'hurt' Disney's business one bit. Of course it won't. If Universal and Sea world's world class theme parks can only get a little progress going Legoland is not going to do much a 40 min drive down the road.

That being said it may get a rise out of them with greed in question. One day less that they may of used to go back and do favorites at Disney is one hotel night less and hundreds of dollars at the resort the next day.

I have been under the impression that the Legoland in So Cal is a bit of a dud. Surprised they are building another one in the States.

Islands of Adventure took the bulk of it's attendance numbers from Universal Studios not the Disney parks, that's what I meant. I never said that Islands of Adventure surpassed Universal in terms of attendance. There was just a degree of cannibalism amongst the two Universal parks - it didn't hurt Disney's bottom line, and that's why they didn't "react".
